228: Chapter 226: The Girl in a Coma 228: Chapter 226: The Girl in a Coma Wen Wen and the other person were still in the hotel, only this hotel was real.
The layout was roughly the sa as that other hotel, but it was much more dilapidated, with stains everywhere and dust covering the tables and chairs.
Beyond that, there were bodies, a large number of bodies!
All the victims of this seven-day death ga’s bodies were scattered throughout the hotel, and at a glance, there were at least twenty to thirty that still retained human form.
As for those that were no longer in human form, it was really difficult to count.
Because this place had been shrouded in “a hunting ga,” there were not many flies or insects around, so the scene did not look too disgusting.
At least there were no maggots…
Chu Wei headed straight upstairs as he wanted to find a set of clothes he could wear; unlike Wen Wen, he still needed clothes for modesty.
anwhile, Wen Wen took out his Custodian Badge and began to investigate the nearby terrain.
Three Cubs and three ordinary people were outside the hotel, seemingly without any danger.
In the hotel’s backyard, there was a strange energy source, which should be the body of this Containnt Item.
Wen Wen beca slightly cautious, avoiding the bodies, and slowly walked to the hotel’s backyard.
Originally, Wen Wen thought he would be attacked or see sothing supernatural, but he only saw a girl, who should be Zheng Yi, sitting on a swing and gently swaying.
She appeared to be asleep.
Zheng Yi was about fourteen or fifteen years old but wore a dress that was too small, stretching and tearing in many places.
She held onto the ropes with both hands, her head resting on them, her eyes lightly closed as if sleeping.
On her legs, there was a box that was battered and worn.
Upon close inspection, Wen Wen noticed the traces on the box bore a slight resemblance to the marks he made with the RPG, so that must be the actual space body, that Containnt Item.
Wen Wen approached, black chains extended from his palm, wrapping around the box and pulling it directly into the Sanctuary without any resistance.
The box was placed in the Disaster Area containnt warehouse, next to the Hundred Flavors Cup, which made Wen Wen frown.
“It indeed has Disaster Level abilities; why is it kept in the Disaster Area…
It seems my way of breaking through caused it irreversible damage…”
This made Wen Wen feel sowhat distressed, but he had no better solution.
Then he looked towards Zheng Yi, gently patting her cheek, but she did not wake up.
“Sigh…”
During these days, Zheng Yi had been driving that Containnt Item, and as an ordinary person, it was estimated she would pay so price for operating it.
Wen Wen did not know what would happen to her in the future.
At the very least, the years she had vanished into thin air were definitely not coming back, and it was uncertain whether she would wake up or not.
However, even if she could wake up, she would probably be punished by the Hunter Association.
Even if influenced by the Containnt Item, she had actively participated in and controlled the ga that led to the killings, so she was not a pure victim, and so of the deaths would be partially attributed to her.
Given that the event involved superpowers and dozens of deaths, she would not be free of responsibility just because she was only seven years old.
“What’s the situation?”
Chu Wei, wearing an old man’s pajamas and tying the belt, ca beside Wen Wen and asked.
“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, it’s all over now, call the Supporter to co, this place needs to be cleaned up,” Wen Wen said nonchalantly.
Chu Wei glanced at Zheng Yi, understanding what happened, and asked Wen Wen, “What about the Containnt Item?”
“It was hit by such a powerful impact, it couldn’t maintain its form and collapsed,” Wen Wen said nonchalantly.
Chu Wei nodded.
The earlier scene of destruction didn’t leave him any room to doubt that the Containnt Items had been destroyed.
“So, what do we do next?”
Wen Wen thought for a mont and replied, “Wait for your people to co, then we’ll go our separate ways.
I’ll head to Yanling City, and you can go wherever you want to.”
Chu Wei looked at Wen Wen in surprise and said, “You’re going to Yanling City?
I’m the Demon Hunter there, we’re headed the sa way.”
Wen Wen expressed his distaste, “I don’t really want to be on the sa road as you.
Your stuff isn’t going to explode on the way, is it?”
“No, you’re overthinking it.
I’ve taken them this far, and everything’s still in one piece.”
But Wen Wen wasn’t about to fall for Chu Wei’s tall tales.
He had Chu Wei pick up Zheng Yi and leave the inn through the main entrance with him to et up with the Three Cubs.
As for why he had Chu Wei carry Zheng Yi…
Of course, it was because Zheng Yi took after her mother and wasn’t too pretty.
The Three Cubs, upon seeing Wen Wen, scrambled onto his shoulders like an overeager puppy, sticking out its crimson tongue to lick at Wen Wen’s cheek.
Then Wen Wen reached out with both hands and grabbed the tongue.
“Stop licking at random, you haven’t brushed your teeth.”
On seeing Zheng Yi, Zheng Shengli had a hard ti believing she was his granddaughter, while Wu Fengxia still looked bewildered, though she couldn’t stop tears from streaming down the corners of her eyes.
It wasn’t easy for any family to accept their little girl suddenly turning into a malnourished young woman.
The symptoms Wu Fengxia was experiencing would likely subside within a day, but her ntal state might beco more sensitive than that of an average person from here on out, which was the ntal damage caused by the forced hypnosis interrogation.
In less than half an hour, Yanling City’s Supporter team arrived at the scene, closed off the section of the road, and began cleaning up the corpses inside the inn.
If a large accumulation of human corpses were left unattended over ti, it could lead to so serious issues.
For example, it might attract certain special Monsters from the ‘Inner World,’ or it could spawn epidemics that are difficult to manage.
Monsters were the lesser concern, as they could be eliminated by killing them, but if an epidemic related to the Inner World were to break out, the consequences could be far more terrifying than a rampaging Disaster Level Monster.
There was once an epidemic that wasn’t effectively controlled and spread throughout the entire Golden Eagle District, resulting in a genuine situation of bodies strewn everywhere.
To this day, people there still panic at the ntion of an epidemic.
With the arrival of the Supporters, it ant no further involvent from Wen Wen here, so he left Chu Wei for a while to fetch his luxury car.
His tires had been punctured and needed to be repaired before he could hit the road.
“Uh, do any of your Supporters here know how to fix a tire?
Mine got punctured…” Wen Wen said to Chu Wei with so embarrassnt.
Chu Wei patted his chest and assured, “No problem, our Yanling City Supporters have a lot of talents.”
Quickly, he summoned a middle-aged Supporter over.
The Supporter made short work of the repair, impressing Wen Wen with his skill.
Wen Wen had always prided himself on knowing how to do just about anything, but when it ca to cars, driving was all he knew.
After all, until he ca to Furong River City, he had never owned a car, so he didn’t have much experience with these things.
After a quick fix, Wen Wen took Chu Wei, who had naturally assud he’d get a ride, and together, they drove towards Yanling City.
