Chapter 2058: Chapter 619: Farlo’s “I Am the World

No one knows the location of the Evil Dragon Malodis’s lair, only that it was last seen in the Dense Forest a hundred miles northwest of Black Stone City.

Despite the prosperity and large population of the Seven Kingdoms, the wilderness is filled with fierce Demon Beasts once one leaves towns and villages.

Even though the “Dawn rcenary Corps” is an S-level rcenary Corps, they don’t move quickly through the forests.

They have to deal with the Demon Beasts that appear suddenly and also blaze a trail through the Dense Forest.

Only by dusk of the second day did they reach the “Black Stone Forest Farm.”

This is a natural forest farm with towering black spruce trees.

Unfortunately, due to frequent appearances of the Gale Demon Wolves, no one has been in the area for dozens of miles since the last group of lumberjacks was devoured by Demon Beasts over ten years ago.

The sun had already set, and the mbers of the Dawn Group used the dilapidated huts of the forest lumberjacks as their campsite.

They were not afraid of the Demon Beasts that others feared.

In the wooden house, the campfire was burning brightly.

Several large pieces of roasted at were sizzling on the fire, taken from the Ground Demon Bear they had hunted earlier that day.

They sat around the fire, chatting idly.

Archer Siwal was using a small knife to handle the fat on the bloodstained bear skin, as the complete bear skin could fetch a good price at the Adventurers’ Marketplace.

Heavy knight Robert was oiling and maintaining his prized armor…

Magician Gweneth was still frowning at the encrypted Black Magic runes on a few slabs.

Leonard Churchill was still reading Farlo’s travel journal.

Hunter Catcher Ipa was holding so bread crumbs, feeding the nest of mountain mice left by the “original owner” in the hut.

As a Beast Tar, he was versed in so beast languages.

The mountain mice, having eaten the bread crumbs, squeaked.

Ipa seed to understand, turning his face towards his companions and said, “Captain, these mountain mice say, beneath the northwest, there’s a terrifying aura… likely the Evil Dragon.”

Leonard Churchill nodded upon hearing this: “Yep. Everyone, rest well tonight; we might face a tough battle tomorrow.”

Being tacit comrades long familiar with each other’s abilities, they nodded in agreent.

But just then, Gweneth, who had been frowning while deciphering the slabs, suddenly had a glimr in her eyes: “I… I’ve finally deciphered it! Oh my God, these magical runes are actually using the ‘Thirteen-sided Dice Encryption thod’!”

The studies of Magicians were always enigmatic, and the team didn’t understand the reason for her astonishnt.

Heavy knight Robert asked, “Thirteen-sided Dice? Gwen, what’s that?”

Gweneth explained: “Yes. It’s a very special magical encryption thod. The text is not viewed as flat, but as a three-dinsional polyhedral shape resembling dice. This polyhedral format rearranges simple words into complex sentences. A letter could have different anings in various phrase contexts. With a single shift, it brings about new word anings…”

Magical knowledge is exceptionally valuable in this world.

It’s typically not shared freely.

Magicians love preserving their research secrets using various extraordinary encryption thods, also as a demonstration of their erudition.

Many tis, even so seemingly ordinary ancient classic books in the antique market might be encrypted scrolls left by Ancient Magicians.

Of course, it’s most commonly used by those viewed as “forbidden” Black Mages, aiming to avoid detection by the Seven Gods Sect.

A few teammates, still confused, could not comprehend such complex encryption ans.

Yet Leonard Churchill caught sothing peculiar: “Thirteen faces?”

In his experience, multi-faced dice typically have an even number of faces.

Gweneth nodded: “Yes! That’s what makes this encryption thod special. It’s a high-dinsional pattern with a concealed face, terd ‘Gods’ Hidden ssage.’ I can’t grasp its principles but only know so decryption formulas…”

Everyone took interest upon hearing this.

Intuition told them sothing significant was concealed using such encryption on the slabs.

After a pause, Gweneth further explained: “It’s said this encryption thod was initially discovered in an ancient relic dating back three thousand years. It took many years of research by predecessors of Magic Academy to coincidentally decrypt it. My teacher said this ‘Thirteen-sided Dice Encryption thod’ feels like it doesn’t belong to this world… Without knowing so formulas, I wouldn’t be able to decrypt it even in a hundred years…”

Decrypting is inherently tedious, with the easiest thod being to spot patterns and apply all known encryption techniques.

Luck plays a significant role in deciphering it.

The concern of Leonard Churchill and his companions was not about how it was decrypted.

They were eager to know what was actually recorded on it.

Gweneth gazed at her teammates’ curious eyes, then looked at the slab, her expression sowhat peculiar: “Hmm… Although a bit incomplete, I’ve roughly deciphered it. The stele’s inscription is quite bizarre…”

On the slab, it was written: “I suspect ‘World Will’ has blocked part of human cognition, stripping us of the ability to perceive the universe’s true nature… I want to open a World Rift to see if my hypothesis holds true…”

Upon hearing this preface, everyone’s expressions simultaneously cringed.

“What a madman. No wonder he’s considered a forbidden Black Mage. Opening a World Rift? Oh, my God, isn’t he afraid of the world’s destruction because of it…”

“Hey, from another angle, though, that Will Smith three thousand years ago must have been mighty powerful, to tear the world apart? That’s already a divine power…”
