94: Chapter 35 Actually I am a Demon_1 94: Chapter 35 Actually I am a Demon_1 “I rely wanted to stop and ask you sothing, why did you run?” Yan Fei waited for the person he’d already pegged as a thief to approach him, heart steady, breath calm, and asked.

“Ghost…” The man scread in terror and turned to run again.

You’re calling a ghost?

Yan Fei snickered to himself as he looked over the adjacent wheat fields.

With Yan Fei orchestrating these ghostly antics, the man ran around within the wheat fields, inexplicably dashing towards a group of graves.

Next mont, there was yet another figure appearing in front of him, from behind the mound of graves.

Frightened beyond belief, the man could run no more.

His legs weakened, and he knelt on the ground.

“Spare , honorable spirit!

I would never steal oil again!

I shouldn’t have driven my motorcycle around and disturbed you.

Please forgive this one ti!” He begged for his life.

Hearing the man’s plea, Yan Fei realized sothing.

This was indeed a thief!

A rather dumb thief at that, for mistaking him for a ghost.

A super dumb thief!

“Don’t bla yourself.

You just happened to co into my house; it’s a twist of fate.

I just wanted to strike up a conversation with you.” Yan Fei said, trying hard to suppress his laughter and maintain a stern face.

“I’ve done wrong, venerable spirit.

I shouldn’t have invaded your ho.

Please spare !

I will never do it again!

I’ll never co back!

If I ever go back, I’ll burn you money offerings daily!” On hearing Yan Fei’s words, the man cowered and faltered, his voice shaky from fear.

Is this man stealing with such a weak heart?

Am I not alive?

Why does he want to burn offerings?

Yan Fei laughed so hard he could barely stand.

“Ah, I died young and don’t need much money.

I just wanted soone to talk to and pass the ti with.”

“Great spirit, I have parents and children to feed.

I’ll burn more offerings for you!

Please spare …” The man was so terrified, he was shaking uncontrollably and collapsed onto the ground, begging for rcy persistently.

Seems like the first ti Yan Fei appeared, the thief mistook him for a re pedestrian hitching a ride.

But seeing him reappear right before danger struck, the thief started to panick.

The third ti Yan Fei was seen standing in front of his motorcycle, the thief was utterly frightened, almost wetting his pants.

What else could a person be, who continually appears and disappears in the dark night while chased by a roaring motorcycle, if not a ghost?

The thief had run into the midst of a graveyard fearing a mistake, he would be dead for sure if not for his imnse bravery.

“Don’t be scared, it’s all good.

Actually, it’s quite comfortable down here.

It’s just that the neighbors are far off, so it can get quite lonely not having anyone to talk to.

If you could chat with a bit, that’d be great.

I only absorb a bit of yang energy now, which doesn’t hurt anyone!” Yan Fei continued his prank, remaining dedicated to his ghost disguise.

According to rural folklore, spirits stay ‘alive’ by absorbing people’s yang energy.

Yan Fei had heard of it, and now he was using it.

Ding…ding ding…

The thief was so scared that he couldn’t even talk, his teeth chattering uncontrollably.

This was Yan Fei’s first ti seeing soone being scared to this extent in his life.

Unable to resist, he moved closer, which made the thief tremble even harder.

“Don’t be afraid, I truly just want soone to chat with.

Can you tell if we’ve driven out the Japanese invaders yet?” he asked with feigned seriousness.

“I died so unfairly…

so many people died at that ti, there was nowhere for us to reincarnate into.

I’ve been waiting here ever since, I haven’t seen a living soul in such a long ti!”

“Ah…

you…

really?” Yan Fei sighed slowly.

He was about to continue speaking when he noticed the man was silent and motionless.

He was startled for a mont.

Did the thief just die from the scare?

Yan Fei hurriedly checked for breath, relieved to find that he was still breathing!

If he wasn’t dead, then it was all good.

To be honest, even Yan Fei himself was getting scared, standing in the midst of the graves at this dark hour.

After trying to revive the man by slapping his face and pinching the man’s philtrum for a while, Yan Fei was left with no option when the man didn’t stir.

He thought for a mont, gathered so firewood from the Vegetable Garden Island, and lit a fire.

As the fire illuminated the surroundings, he felt much better.

He filled a bowl with water and splashed it onto the thief’s face.

Considering the thief’s fearfulness, Yan Fei felt slightly guilty about scaring him to the point of fainting.

He decided it would be better to awaken him and send him to the police station!

Sure enough, cold water worked wonders.

The thief woke up dazedly and asked, “Am I dead?”

“Co on, get up.

I’m not a ghost, just ssing with you.” Yan Fei gave him a light kick and gestured towards him.

“Look, I have a shadow, I’m not a ghost.”

Perhaps it was the light from the fire that emboldened him, having already been scared unconscious once, this thief seed to beco braver than before.

He was looking around, even managed to reach out his trembling hand to touch Yan Fei’s calf.

It took him a while, but he finally believed that Yan Fei was not a ghost.

“Okay, get up quickly and co with .

I’ll take you to the police station.” Yan Fei, seeing him convinced that he was not a ghost, started to urge him to move.

“Why should I go to the police station with you?” The man wiped his face, shakily stood up, and after steadying himself, he began to laugh sinisterly.

“Kid, you scared witless, and now you want to drag to the police station?

Wait till I show you what’s what, then you will know how many eyes Lord Ma has!”

Yan Fei underestimated the complexity of human nature.

He was not expecting that a man so easily spooked by a non-existent ghost could change his tune so soon after realizing that he wasn’t a ghost.

“I just saved you, and you’re trying to attack …

I…”

Before he could finish his sentence, he didn’t need to.

While he was speaking, the man pulled out a dagger from his waist and swung it in the firelight, creating two bright cold beams.

“Enough chatter.

You’ve been scaring all night.

Now it’s ti for you to die!”

Yan Fei dodged quickly and moved backward, avoiding the man’s upward swing.

If he had not been so fast, wouldn’t his belly have been slashed open?

This devious and ruthless attack imdiately sparked his anger.

When he saw Yan Fei dodge his attack, he chuckled again.

“So, you’re so martial artist.

I was wondering why you were out here making a spectacle of yourself all night.

Too bad you ran into today.

That’s your bad luck!”

By now, Yan Fei had steadied himself and was standing on a grave mound looking down on the man.

He seethed with anger.

“Even without the theatrics, I can easily kill you!”

As soon as he finished speaking, his body swelled up, a pair of black bat wings spread out, and he let out a strange cry.

At this mont, he was truly filled with murderous rage.

The man was rely a thief, and yet he had made an attempt on Yan Fei’s life.

He had initially saved him out of goodwill, but now he was simply asking for death.

Just as he was about to end the thief’s life, the man suddenly froze, his eyes wide open.

He let out a couple of ‘gurgles’ and then collapsed.

Yan Fei paused for a mont, considered his options, then reverted back to his human form.

He looked down at his pants, which had burst at the seams during his transformation, cursed, and ducked into a cave on Vegetable Garden Island to grab a couple of clothes from his collection.

Upon his return, he checked the man’s breathing, only to find that his foe had a rather robust constitution and hadn’t been scared to death.

Should he kill the man and bury the body?

After all, the man had seen him transform.

Just as he was about to act, Yan Fei felt a tinge of hesitation.

If he killed the fellow, he’d never solve the mystery of the motorcycle, right?

From the beginning, he had concluded that the man was a thief and had claid the motorcycle as his own.

Why else would he have extinguished its flas out of kindness?

Moreover, even if the man told his story, who would believe him?

Many people in the towns claid to have seen ghosts and goblins, and despite their tales, life went on as usual.

After a few seconds, he decided to take the man to the police station.

Mainly because he was engrossed in playing with the thief’s dagger, which he had picked up and found quite appealing.

He figured he would na it after himself.

Although it was not easy for the thief to have traversed such a distance to deliver the motorcycle and the dagger to him, the thought of that lightened his mood.

The thief, given his trigger-happy nature, wouldn’t have a good ti of it at the police station.

This was the excuse he gave himself.

The key point was, he hadn’t killed anyone yet.

Of course, he would never admit to it.

Just as he was about to find so rope to bind the thief and take him away, he turned the man over, and a sudden stench nearly knocked him unconscious.

Yan Fei glanced at it and cursed profusely, “Even unconscious, you set traps for !”

He kicked the thief and went to fetch so water to splash on his face.

This ti, the man didn’t regain consciousness even after two rounds of dousing.

Yan Fei didn’t want anything more to do with him.

Aside from being covered in dirt from rolling and crawling in the wheat field, the thought of touching him, covered in feces and urine, was too disgusting.

After so thought, Yan Fei found a mat from inside the cave, a discarded one used to sell waterlons, that was made of finely woven wheat straw.

After a bit of searching, he found the most deteriorated one, and used it to wrap and bind the man, then he carried him over to the motorcycle.

Conveniently, when the motorcycle had fallen over, two bags had broken.

Although the cycle was marred by black sticky oil, there was just enough room for the thief.

Without missing a beat, he drove straight to the police station, dropped the man and the bag of oil at the door, then hamred on it.

As soon as the police acknowledged, Yan Fei jumped onto the motorcycle and zood off without waiting for the door to open — he feared they would question him about the motorcycle, so he made sure to deliver his ssage about the thief while holding his nose.
