71: Chapter 12 Buying Books Eating at_1 71: Chapter 12 Buying Books Eating at_1 This is a bookstore that although located at the inner-most part of the market, had the highest flow of people coming in and out.

Upon stepping inside, one can see the whole shop was about the size of two classrooms.

The most noticeable items near the entrance were popular publications, from fiction novels and magazines to study materials.

All three rows were filled with people.

However, Yan Fei wasn’t interested in popular books.

Instead, his attention was drawn to the specialized books placed on shelves against the side walls.

Staring at a shelf labelled “Breeding Techniques”, Yan Fei began his treasure hunt.

“Prevention and treatnt of Large Livestock Diseases”, “Breeding at Pigeons and Dostic Rabbits”, “How to Rapidly Fatten up Pigs”, “Unusual Breeding”, “How to Get Rich Fast Through Breeding”, and even books that target specific diseases were readily available.

One could find a book about absolutely anything.

However, Yan Fei was currently not concerned with that much detail.

He planned to buy each book after he gets so more money.

He must save his money for now.

After searching for a while, he found a book titled “Feed Processing and Reasonable Matching”.

He flicked through the pages, finding a variety of content from chickens, ducks, and geese to pigs, horses, and cows.

Although the thods were not detailed enough, Yan Fei felt he would have to put in so effort to create bone al from this book.

Setting the book aside, he searched for half a day longer, even coming across a book titled “Breeding Billionaires”.

On seeing the title, Yan Fei almost spat blood.

I am not well-read, but does that an you can facilitate my ignorance?

A few years ago, ten-thousandaires were awarded and featured on television, and now there are billionaires already?

That’s not even how you boast.

Despite his anger, Yan Fei’s curiosity got the better of him and he picked up the book.

Reading through the book, Yan Fei felt that the author had lost his mind.

It was full of all kinds of strange content, claiming that strange creatures like snakes, centipedes, scorpions, locusts, worms, grasshoppers, and even snails could be bred.

The author seriously wrote about how great the prospects are and exaggerated as if anyone could get rich from raising these creatures.

The book also had nurous pictures.

Yan Fei was so disgusted by the images of coiled snakes and locusts that he quickly put the book back on the shelf, fearing it might affect his appetite for at later.

Yan Fei continued looking for a while longer but still did not find a professional bone al manufacturing book.

He felt frustrated and ended up picking up “Feed Processing and Reasonable Matching” again to review it in detail.

Fortunately, a lot of the dostic animals featured in this book published by an Agricultural University had information related to bone al.

In a take-what-you-get kind of mindset, Yan Fei decided to choose this book.

As he was preparing to pay, he couldn’t help but take another glance at “Breeding Billionaires” and suddenly realized that he recognized the author.

Wasn’t this written by Monk Muyu, the author of “Ancient Bones” that he bought?

Is this guy a paleontologist researching fossils or an expert on breeding?

What kind of books can’t he write?

Out of nowhere, Yan Fei ended up picking up that book again and took it with him to the counter.

As Yan Fei had anticipated, the grinning cashier saw his books and promptly announced, “These two books are the original editions.

We offer at most a 35% discount on wholesale.

So, the total for the two books is…”

As he spoke, his fingers danced over the calculator, quickly announcing a total price that was hefty enough to buy several catties of pri at.

Well, it’s a bit pricey, but that just can’t be helped.

After all, people buying storybooks could buy them for just three to five yuan each.

However, he didn’t need those types of books.

He paid, collected his books, and left to catch a bus.

On the bus, he found himself flipping through the pages of “Breeding Billionaires” again and muttered to himself: why the hell did I buy this damned book?

He should just focus on learning how to make bone al!

After he got ho, he no longer had the energy to study bone al, as the at in the pot was finally ready to eat.

While he was chopping the at earlier, Yan Fei noticed that the at from the Iguanodon’s leg was not as tough as he imagined it would be.

In fact, it seed similar to chicken or rabbit at.

The taste was good, and the feeling of wolfing down big chunks of at felt amazing!

It was nothing like the Compsognathus at he usually ate!

It was only after he had consud half of a pot of at that he started to feel full and was able to actually start tasting it.

The at of Iguanodon and Compsognathus were essentially the sa, although the forr was a bit tougher.

Compared to chicken or rabbit, they have a unique smooth texture.

They don’t appear to have a distinct taste like mutton’s gay flavor, or the unique aromas of beef and pork.

Iguanodon at seed to lack distinctive characteristics, but it was quite tender and absorbed all sorts of seasoning flavors.

After stewing, it was incredibly fragrant.

Looking at the rolling hot at in the pot and the pile of raw at on the chopping board next to it, Yan Fei was troubled.

The cooked at could be stored, but not the raw ones.

The temperature on the island was high, so the at would spoil quickly if not used.

Moreover, this at spoiled much faster than regular pork, beef, or lamb.

He once left Compsognathus at out overnight without cooking it promptly and had to throw it away because it wasn’t fresh anymore.

He made a tough decision.

Transforming into a Pterosaur, he stood there and swallowed all the at.

Anyway, he could get as much at as he wanted in the future, as long as it wasn’t wasted.

Besides, he had previously eaten raw at as a Pterosaur, and although he wasn’t sure if it had any benefits, it certainly had no harm.

When there was only a small amount of at left, he saved so, cut it into thin strips, and transford into a small crocodile to swallow it.

He had high hopes for the growth of this little crocodile!

If it stays this small, it can only swim in the small stream in Sancha River town.

It dared not enter the waters of the dinosaur world.

Perhaps only the small Spring Pool on Vegetable Garden Island would be a suitable habitat for such a small crocodile.

Looking at the ti, school was over.

Exiting the island and opening the front door, sure enough, the students were already on the streets after school.

He locked the door and headed back towards the Cow Breeding Island, which was his ‘ho after school’.

At the Cow Breeding Island, Yan Fei had dinner with his grandfather as a part of their routine.

His grandpa actually believed that he went to school every day and was always in a cheerful mood, always urging him to eat more.

After dinner, Yan Fei sat in the room reading books, trying to figure out how to make bone al.

Ma Chao’s father was unwell, and Yan Fei didn’t feel the need for anyone else to help with the night shift.

Therefore, he had to return to the Cow Breeding Island every night after completing his day’s work.

Other than Yan Fei, the Cow Breeding Island housed three other people.

The gatekeeper, a man nad Li Cheng, and his grandfather, neither of whom could read.

The only literate person was a widow nad Lin Yui.

She was not stupid and knew who was in charge at the Cow Breeding Island.

She never asked what Yan Fei was reading.

Seeing Yan Fei reading, his grandfather and Li Cheng started praised him extravagantly for his exceptional industriousness at a young age.

They were accustod to praising Yan Fei on his understanding of property managent.

However, their constant praising of his love for studying made even his thick-skinned self struggle to accept it.

That night, for the first ti, he didn’t feel hungry after only a bit of work.

Yan Fei felt that becoming a Pterosaur and eating so at actually makes him less hungry so the exploration in the Cow Breeding Island continued.

Thanks to his transformation ability and the swift change between forms, he did not need to worry too much, at least not when he was away from the lake, even at night.

The island was large and consequently was ho to relatively more lifeforms.

He found several ‘small’ insects, of course small being a relative term in this dinosaur-dominated world.

For instance, centipedes that were two to three ters long, spiders the size of a washbasin and dung beetles that were many tis larger than Yan Fei was used to.

These insects were not nurous and seed to creep carefully, only daring to co out at night.

Of course, where there were spiders, there would be mosquitoes and such.

These annoying creatures were omnipresent, albeit not in large numbers.

However, their size was horrifying.

What frightened him even more were the Gadflies, or perhaps they should be called Dragonflies here.

Yan Fei reckoned that if a few of them ended up on his Cow Breeding Island, the cows would be finished.

Yan Fei paid more attention to whether these creatures were edible or not.

Although the insects looked disgusting, they were generally harmless as long as he was careful, especially since he had the ability to transform as needed.
