46: Chapter 46 Minor Conflict_1 46: Chapter 46 Minor Conflict_1 Day Twenty-three, for the smaller New Year; Day Twenty-four, cleaning the house; Day Twenty-five, grinding tofu…
Yan Fei beca well-known with his small stall after selling waterlons and sweet potato leaves just twice on the roadside.
The next ti he pulled his cart over, people were already waiting there early in the morning.
Yan Fei humd New Year songs while watching waterlons being taken away briskly by the overjoyed crowd and the bundles of sweet potato leaves being packed into trolleys and baskets.
His heart was filled with joy.
A small trolley only holds so much, and people were basically grabbing things to purchase.
He felt that he was also snatching it up, almost like snatching up money.
“Who allowed you to set up a stall here?”
While busy weighing waterlons, a coarse male voice sounded.
Following this, two n pushed through the crowd of custors and approached.
At first glance, these two didn’t seem like good people!
Yan Fei once again activated his magical “mini-universe”.
The man leading them, the one who had just shouted, looked rather decent.
But he wore an air of superiority which made Yan Fei feel very uncomfortable.
The guy behind him had rather long hair, covering his ears and most of his face.
He didn’t look decent at all.
The pair of them together looked even worse.
“Who is stopping from selling here?
What do you do that you can control this?” Yan Fei was blunt since these two were not wearing uniforms.
“Who are you talking about?
We are from the market managent.
Didn’t you know selling items on a stall here is not allowed?” Before the leader could speak, the long-haired man rushed forward.
Misjudged again?
Yan Fei wondered.
He misjudged Fifth Brother before as well.
After dealing with him for half a year, he found that Fifth Brother was actually quite a decent man.
A few days earlier, when he visited, Yan Fei said he would give him two rabbits as New Year gifts, only for Fifth Brother to insist on giving him a hundred Yuan as a New Year bonus.
“This is not the market, I didn’t even go in.
Is it even within your jurisdiction across the street?” Yan Fei softened his tone, thinking he might have misjudged.
“Here you are squatting outside of the market, still claiming you’re not at the market.
If all vendors behaved like you, then how can we run our market?” The leader finally spoke, indignantly reprimanding.
“There are no spots available in your market.
If I’m not here, where else would I be?” Yan Fei felt quite wronged.
“That’s not a reason for you to vend on the roadside.
Co on, stop talking, pack up your items and co with us!” The long-haired man ordered Yan Fei, spitting as he yelled.
“I’ll change my spot, no longer at the entrance of your market!” Yan Fei said as he prepared to move his cart.
“Do not leave!
Thinking about leaving after nearly selling all your produce?
How dreamy!
Will you co with us or not?” The long-haired man yelled, gripping Yan Fei, preventing him leaving.
“If I don’t go, then tell what you intend to do?” Yan Fei turned to face him.
“Co with and you’ll find out!” The long-haired man glared back defiantly, intent on not letting him leave.
“Just speak out and tell what you want!” Yan Fei was getting annoyed.
“Why talk nonsense?
Co with and you’ll find out!
Hurry and get your cart moving, stop wasting ti.” The long-haired man beca increasingly arrogant.
“If you want to speak, speak here.” Yan Fei was determined not to move, not believing they would dare to do anything in front of so many people.
“Are you just determined to disobey ?
You won’t leave, then I’ll make you!” The long-haired man cursed, threatening to push Yan Fei away and move the cart himself.
“You’re insulting and trying to rob ?” Yan Fei wasn’t prepared and only managed not to fall thanks to the cart.
“We’re from the managent, what do you an by robbing?
Go to hell…you…” the long-haired man was pushing Yan Fei while cursing.
Once Yan Fei steadied himself on his feet, however, his attempts to shove him out of the way also ceased.
“Xiao Liu, go get so more people and clear this cart away.
We must maintain order in the market managent.
If all sellers behave like him, how can we manage our work in the future?” The leader, seeing his follower embarrassing himself like a monkey, opened his mouth to command him.
“Alright, little rascal, you just wait!” Xiao Liu responded to the leader and then shouted at Yan Fei before leaving.
“Sigh…
I say, your managent office keeps track of the market entrance, but this is across the road.
Aren’t you guys overreaching?” An old lady nearby seed to have figured things out, and she chid in.
“Exactly, this isn’t your business.
We’re just trying to do our shopping during the New Year!”
“Right, exactly…”
Once soone started speaking up, everyone preparing to buy waterlons began to join in the chatter.
As the dispute escalated, more people joined the crowd.
Those who could afford to buy waterlons were all well-dressed, suggesting their family conditions were not bad.
The ringleader, noticing their growing anger, glanced around and his face flashed with rage, but he remained silent.
The crowd started to condemn him even more loudly.
Seeing the people chattering away, he finally spat out: “What do you lot know?
If market managent is like this, will the market even exist in the future?
Forget about handling this today, don’t bother coming back.”
Saying this, he squeezed out of the crowd and walked towards the road where Xiao Liu was leading a few people over.
They wanted to speak, but he waved them off, “Forget about it, let’s go back.
We won’t deal with this today, we’ll talk later.”
The crowd looked at him, tried to say sothing, but ultimately remained silent.
As they were leaving, Xiao Liu pointed at Yan Fei from a distance and threatened: “Kid, if you dare, keep selling here…”
Yan Fei kept his head down in silence.
Once the troublemakers had left, Yan Fei considered moving to another spot.
But seeing that there weren’t many waterlons left and the crowd had been waiting for a long ti, he decided not to move.
After all, he didn’t plan on coming back tomorrow.
After telling the crowd around him that there would be no more waterlons tomorrow, the remaining waterlons were imdiately sold out.
“Hey…Isn’t this the young man who sold tiger bones?” An old woman suddenly pointed at him, speaking with a trace of surprise.
While he was happily counting his money, Yan Fei suddenly heard this remark and was taken aback.
Was it possible to run into soone he knew in such a big city district?
This place was several streets away from the train station square, how could they recognize him even with his disguise?
Yan Fei paused for a mont and pretended not to hear.
“It’s him, he was dressed exactly like this that day, it’s definitely him.” Another old woman who ca with the first one confird.
“What tiger bones?
This young man has been selling waterlons here for the past few days!” Finally soone spoke up for Yan Fei.
Upon hearing this, the two old won exchanged a glance and stopped talking.
Not long later, after all the waterlons were weighed and paid for, Yan Fei was about to leave with his cart when he was stopped.
“Hey…young man, don’t leave!
I want to ask, do you still have those tiger bones?” Yan Fei had noticed these two old won whispering by the side, and now they finally approached him.
“No, what tiger bones?
I don’t know what you’re talking about, I sell waterlons!”
“Yes, yes, no tiger bones, but dragon bones, dragon bones…look, young man, it’s freezing cold and we’ve been standing here for a long ti.
If you still have them, sell so to us.
My old man suffers from leg pain.
I asked the doctor, and he said that dicine made from such bones works best!”
“Yes, yes, it’s our old man who is unwell.
He suffered from this illness in his early years, and his legs ache whenever it is windy or rainy.
He is over seventy now.
Young man, you seem quite young and are out here making a living, you can’t just ignore an old man’s …”
Watching the passionate acting of the two old won, Yan Fei felt helpless.
As Yan Fei moved his cart to leave, the two old won followed him, blocking his way with constant complints.
Seeing the falling snowflakes from the sky, Yan Fei thought for a while, and finally decided: “I need to make this clear, I don’t have tiger bones, and I don’t know if it has any effect.
If you insist on buying, wait here and I’ll fetch it for you.”
“Great!”
The two old won repeatedly agreed, their faces full of gratitude.
Trust between people is present in abundance these days.
Since Yan Fei said he would fetch it, they weren’t afraid he wouldn’t return, even as they stood waiting in the falling snow, watching him walk away.
The New Year is truly a troubleso ti, people are everywhere.
As Yan Fei pulled his cart, he felt people were watching him from behind.
Rembering the confrontation he had with the man who claid to be from the market managent, he beca more cautious.
He walked almost an hour before finding a secluded place with no onlookers.
Carrying the bag filled with bones and a hamr, he quickly made his way back, avoiding main routes.
