Chapter 2107: Chapter 980: Trivial Matters (Part 2)
It’s just that the developnt of Sancha River Town hasn’t beco strong enough. If Yan Fei hadn’t gone to Australia and continued to develop for a while, maybe Sancha River could have waited to upgrade its status—perhaps it would beco Sancha River County in the future.
Lin Baoguo smiled and asked Xu Changsheng, “Since Director Xu has left, who’s going to take over your position? Any idea?”
Xu Changsheng thought for a mont, “Probably soone similar to . Given the current situation in town, people from nearby aren’t likely to have a chance. But it’s still early for ; I can’t compare to Brother Fu’s ambitions. I plan to stay here a bit longer, just to enjoy so peace and quiet. Once I move on, life won’t be this leisurely.”
“That’s good,” Lin Baoguo nodded.
Even though he’s in the city, Lin Baoguo is still quite concerned about affairs back ho.
A small place is actually easy to manage well, but when things aren’t managed well, it can be tougher than in big cities. With good community spirit, the police station can relax and drink tea every day. But once the atmosphere turns bad, even exhausting yourself daily is pointless.
Maintaining a good atmosphere requires everyone’s joint effort and quite a long ti to cultivate. A bad atmosphere can arise just from a few troublemakers and spreads quickly. Transitioning from bad to good is ten thousand tis harder than the reverse.
Lin Baoguo truly fears Xu Changsheng leaving smoothly only for soone short-sighted to replace him.
Unfortunately, apart from those involved, others can only sigh at the situation.
Driving west and returning, Fu Zhen suggested continuing to stroll around the town for a look.
Coming around from the old cattle farm turn, you only take a few steps before seeing several vehicles parked at the station. There are also many stalls nearby. Across the way, all the storefronts belonging to the old cattle farm are pretty much rented out now, and various businesses are opening.
Even though they’re just tobacco stores and snack shops, it at least proves the town’s developnt is indeed speeding up.
A little further down, there’s a new archway at the town entrance. Frad by rows of big trees, it looks quite charming.
Fu Zhen chuckled proudly, “How’s it? Does adding this make the whole town feel more quaint?”
Indeed it’s quaint; although it’s newly built, it’s really well done.
“I also want to do so modifications inside, but there’s no rush now, it needs to proceed gradually. When folks have more money, I’ll propose it. Currently, so families just have a bit of money, and they’re reluctant to spend it, unwilling to cooperate,” Fu Zhen continued.
Yan Fei chuckled, “Is your plan to finish the job before leaving?”
“As best as I can!” Fu Zhen smiled wryly. “If no good opportunities arise, I’ll stay here; if they do, we’ll see. anwhile, I’ll just work here as much as I can.”
Indeed, the town is growing more lively. After circling around, Yan Fei said, “Let’s go back to the cattle farm area for dinner. Eat, and then continue chatting.”
No one seed opposed, so they went back.
Returning to the bamboo grove area, they saw Lin Haihu being scolded by his parents. Yan Fei’s grandfather, Lin Haihu’s grandpa, was there too, kicking Lin Haihu away—Grandpa was in great health, looking stylish as he kicked.
Lin Haihu, being kicked, remained silent, head lowered.
Yan Fei asked with a smile, “What’s going on here?”
“The lad’s growing wings, ready to head out and see the world with you, not wanting to hang out with us country bumpkins,” Yan Fei’s uncle said angrily.
“If he wants to go, let him go,” Yan Fei remarked, and instantly Lin Haihu lifted his head. “Let him go alone, just not with . I dare not take him out now, you know, if he gets lost, I really can’t handle it.”
For other things, Yan Fei’s pretty lenient towards this cousin. But when it cos to going out, Yan Fei doesn’t support it. Not only is the lad still in school, his restless nature makes him an unsuitable travel companion for Yan Fei.
One can’t go out and just do nothing while watching over him!
Yan Fei’s uncle laughed hearing this, his previously angry face changing instantly: “Dad, don’t bother about him. Listen to Xiao Fei. If he’s truly capable of heading out, let him go out and venture.”
Spending ti together has taught them well about Yan Fei’s character—if he thinks sothing can work, he won’t shy away. If he says it’s not possible, then it’s really not possible. They’re all well aware of Lin Haihu’s nature, and honestly wouldn’t dare to let him out and about.
Despite the word spreading about Yan Fei’s prowess outside, what those close consider more often isn’t how glamorous it is, but how much effort he’s put in for that glory.
It’s tough enough being out there; adding on a mischievous cousin isn’t right.
Lin Haihu imdiately seed disheartened, muttering indignantly, “I’m focusing on learning foreign languages now!”
Yan Fei’s aunt laughed, “A score in the forties on your foreign language exam, and you have the nerve to say you’re learning? How did I give birth to such a shaless thing? Get off to the side, don’t sha your cousin here.”
Yan Fei watched as several people ushered Lin Haihu aside and added, “Give it a couple of years, then we’ll see.”
Everyone knew what he ant: in a couple of years, once the kid settles down, then there might be a chance; if he stays like this, he’s going to be staying here.
Fu Zhen laughed, “Every family has its own issues!”
Lin Baoguo glared, “This kid really needs a good scolding, being bad for a few days costs half a year—it’s impossible.”
Just as he finished speaking, a car drove in, and the mont it stopped, a little chubby boy ran over: “Brother, you’re back! I missed you so much! Did you bring any presents?”
This is what having a kid brother is like; he asks for gifts as soon as he ets you.
Yan Fei lifted his younger brother who had gained so weight with a smile, “Chubby, huh? You need to work out more! Go to your sister-in-law for gifts. She’s the chief gift manager, has all kinds of presents.”
The little chubby boy imdiately forgot about his brother and struggled down to run inside: “Sister-in-law, where are you! I’m back! You haven’t co back for so long, I’ve missed you…”
Yan Fei’s face darkened; you rascal, whoever’s got gifts is who you miss, huh?
…
At lunchti, there were fewer people in the house.
But still not few, with Lin Baoguo’s family, Ma Yongming, Fu Zhen, and Xu Changsheng, plus Yan Fei’s family. Originally, they planned to invite a couple teachers, but they didn’t end up coming.
Before the al, Zhang Haiyang reported a matter: “The county wants us to open up the livestock farm to outsiders too, and sign a long-term cooperation agreent with cattle farms from other towns. What’s your take?”
Fu Zhen and the others looked at Yan Fei.
The county’s intention likely cos from the new Party Secretary.
Yan Fei thought for a mont, “There’s no rush for this matter. Let’s focus on cultivating our town’s own livestock farm for now. The current arrangent with outsiders is fine; when needed, we can ask them to deliver cattle. Signing a contract might not make them as diligent as they’re now, it’s better not to sign.”
The last ti he ca back, he helped build a site to the west, invested with foreign currency, Yan Fei felt he’s been pretty generous. There’s no need to disrupt his developnt plans for others’ unwarranted demands.
Zhang Haiyang nodded; with Yan Fei’s decision, she’s able to refuse the request from over there.
Yan Fei originally planned to visit the county, but due to this matter, he dropped the idea. Since his parents are here, the only ones left worth visiting in the county are Laowu’s family. He could invite them over later. As for others, a phone call would suffice.
After lunch, Boss Niu trotted in excitedly, along with a few other local business folks.
In the evening, Yan Fei’s culinary teacher arrived with his family, and Laowu drove in with a van, keeping things low-key.
Yan Fei hadn’t said anything yet when Laowu launched into a theory: “A car’s just for getting around. As long as it drives, it’s fine. My van can haul goods too, it’s fantastic.”
Beside him, his son gave no face to his dad: “Mom doesn’t let him buy a fancy one, says driving sedans makes it easy for him to find mistresses. Actually, I love wild chicken at, but they’re not around anymore; Dad says they used to be plenty…”
Little ones just learning to talk are the most amusing.
After sending off Fifth Brother and the teacher’s family, Yan Fei realized that after a noisy day, he hadn’t gotten a chance to visit a few factories to see what’s going on.
