Yan Fei noticed that Xiao ng was too excited, so he took him to see sothing different to help him calm down.
Every place has its black and white sides, and Yan Fei saw this as another lesson for ng Si’an. Otherwise, if he went back and told those rich friends of his, they might all rush out to invest and end up losing everything.
If there was more ti, Yan Fei really wanted Heizi to take ng Si’an to see how the outsiders survive here.
...
Capital, airport.
As soon as Yan Fei got off the plane with his wife, he spotted a large group of familiar faces.
So sotis having soone help ’spread the word’ can be effective — the fact that people ca to pick him up was all thanks to ng Si’an. Initially, Yan Fei planned to return ’low-key’, but who knew ng Si’an would call everyone. Luckily, his social circles and Yan Fei’s didn’t overlap too much, otherwise, there would’ve been even more people.
Aside from Xiaohe and that group, there was an unexpected appearance by Yang Xing. He had contacted Yan Fei before, but Yan Fei hadn’t returned. Recently, Comrade Yang had unearthed a new batch of fossils and wanted Yan Fei’s reference opinions on them.
Yan Fei had contacted him before returning, and unexpectedly, he ca directly to pick him up at the airport.
However, Yang Xing also explained: "You’re too busy. I know you won’t co often, and once you do, for sure many people will be looking for you. If I don’t co, you might forget about ..."
Yan Fei agreed wholeheartedly, Teacher Yang, your words make a lot of sense!
Just as he finished nodding, his phone rang.
Yan Fei chuckled: "I just got back, and soone’s already contacted ho and co looking for ... Is it Heizi? Hey, what’s up? I just got off the plane, and there’s already sothing going on?"
On the other end, Heizi was in a rush: "Brother Fei, the news just ca out today that several small islands are up for auction! I checked, and there’s one that ets your criteria. The islands being auctioned are fairly close together, but the largest independent island is quite so distance from the others. It’s barely developed, has abundant freshwater resources, and is large enough, covering several dozen square kiloters! It’s on the eastern side..."
Yan Fei was a bit excited at that mont because he’d always been waiting to find a suitable island to buy! In Australia, he’d been keeping an eye on this kind of thing, but either there were no auctions, or the locations were far off or unsuitable.
But since his ti there, he’d just been waiting, and up till now, no suitable opportunity had co up.
Actually, aside from the news, so islands were usually up for sale. But Yan Fei wasn’t too interested. He just didn’t expect that after searching for so long without finding one, news would co just after he returned.
Calming himself, he asked in a deep voice, "When’s the auction?"
"In two weeks!" Heizi replied on the other end. "You better hurry ho, or else you might not make it!"
Two weeks, Yan Fei mulled it over.
Truth be told, there weren’t many urgent matters, but he couldn’t say that out loud. It seed like there were no big issues, but that doesn’t an he can just leave whenever. For instance, he hasn’t been back in ages, so he ought to take a look at the pharmaceutical factory, given he’s a shareholder.
Then there’s the Provincial City, where he has to check on the school and the lab.
The key is these are just the formal matters, and there are other informal etings, like soone inviting him for a al. So social ties can be postponed, but others can’t be skipped.
The Provincial City, the city, the county, back ho...
In a little less than half a month, he’d have to leave a few days early, budgeting for ten days—it’s really tight.
After he hung up, Wen Le beside him couldn’t hold back anymore: "Brother Fei, since you’re a shareholder, the pharmaceutical factory is sothing you have to check on at least once. It won’t take much ti, have a al with the guys, and hold a eting with the company executives—these are necessary, right?"
"Mm-mm, I’ll go, I’ll go." Yan Fei nodded.
Yang Xing was also getting anxious: "I was hoping you’d stay for a few days and co over to see us!"
Yang Xing had the most reason to be worried, as his matter had the least to do with Yan Fei. Mainly, it was because recently they uncovered quite a few fossils in the Northeast and wanted Yan Fei to help take a look.
Firstly, he felt Yan Fei’s insights were unique; he rembered during their first eting Yan Fei had ntioned quite a bit, and now as ti has proven, Yang Xing realized that what this guy said wasn’t unrealistic, just that no one had studied it back then.
There’s no way around it, Yan Fei was on a different level, one who grew up eating at, while they were researching with fossils. So it’s no surprise that a group can’t compete with one person.
Secondly, Boss Yan’s mind is so sharp, with all kinds of data and literature—he can recall what he’s seen at any mont. Just by this second point alone, he could save Yang Xing and the team a lot of research ti.
Another factor is his keen eye. Just knowing where to place fossils is nothing special, but being able to accurately predict what kind of dinosaur a fossil belongs to, and its size, is the real skill—it’s almost like a butcher predicting the size and weight of a pig just from its bones.
Unless a complete fossil is unearthed, piecing together a pile of bones isn’t so simple—even soone with no experience can figure that out, just like how one has eaten chicken and duck countless tis in life. But if you mix chicken and duck bones together and ask soone to piece them back, not many can do it.
Dinosaurs are like that; many are similar. Moreover, if unearthed together, the likelihood of the sa species is greater, with individual differences. In such cases, it’s like piecing a two-catty chicken fra with a two-and-a-half-catty one—compared to chicken and duck, it’s a tad more challenging.
