Chapter 1958: Chapter 921: Returning to Australia and Testing Firearms (Part 2)

“There’s no problem with the driver’s license at all. You have driving experience, and your language level is completely fluent. I estimate you could get your license in as quick as a week. In the anti, I can temporarily set up in Northern River Town to assist you with the preliminary preparations. As for the gun license… it shouldn’t be an issue either, though the review process is quite strict now.”

The strictness of the gun license began four years ago. Before that, Australia didn’t really prohibit guns at all.

In the eighties and nineties, Australia experienced a period of rampant gun violence where cris were frequent. The most recent incident was four years ago when a 28-year-old man drove around with guns and ammunition and went on a rampage in a crowd, causing dozens of casualties, including several children.

Australia doesn’t have the death penalty. This guy who killed a bunch of people was sentenced to more than thirty life sentences, but since he has only one life, he can only spend his life in prison—this case beca a pain many people in Australia never want to ntion.

Since then, Australia has reflected deeply on its pain and launched a large-scale gun control movent. The results over the past few years have been remarkable, much more effective than that of Arica, which has always called for gun control but never succeeded.

However, even though there is gun control, so people are still allowed to own guns—and now, although it’s stricter than before, it’s not as strict as later. So it’s still quite easy for Yan Fei to legally own a weapon.

Of course, this is just Daniel’s conjecture based on common sense. In reality, owning guns legally requires a series of reviews. However, the duration of this process can vary depending on the actual situation.

Yan Fei bought such a large ranch, and now there are only two of them. If they live in the middle of the ranch without even a weapon for self-defense—from a normal person’s perspective, it is a very unreliable behavior.

Don’t think that just because Australia doesn’t have many large beasts, it’s safe. In reality, it’s not like that at all. Besides the wild dogs around the size of Chinese rural dogs and the infamous kangaroos, various snakes and poisonous insects are also very deadly.

Yes, and there are crocodiles too.

The key issue is the sense of security, even if there’s nothing else. Inside such a large ranch, having a weapon for self-defense is necessary to feel at ease.

So, Daniel took Yan Fei to Amora City to visit Ms. Wendy, whom they had t last ti, hoping she could help Yan Fei get the gun permit quickly—Yan Fei wasn’t in a rush, but Daniel, empathizing with the situation, thought they would definitely need a greater sense of security once they moved to the ranch.

“Ms. Wendy, I hope you’ll consider this.” Daniel began his speech again. “The two of them couldn’t hurt a fly coming from…”

Just as he started to speak, he saw Ms. Wendy’s half-smiling expression and his face stiffened—he originally planned to play the pity card, but upon seeing Wendy’s expression, he rembered how Boss Yan, just before leaving last ti, beat up dozens of guys so badly they couldn’t take care of themselves for quite so ti. If soone like him is defenseless, then that fly must be so kind of sea monster.

Fortunately, as a lawyer, Daniel had so adaptability and imdiately changed his phrase: “Well, although Mr. Yan possesses so amazing Chinese Kung Fu skills, he still…”

“I agree!” Wendy interrupted him.

Daniel was stunned; he didn’t react. He had been organizing his words all the way and now couldn’t stop once he started speaking: “I know we need to consider a lot of aspects, but I don’t think a businessman who spent millions of Australian currency to buy a ranch would beco an unstable factor for society just because he has a weapon…”

“I said,” Wendy interrupted him again, emphasizing, “I agree!”

“Oh…” This ti Daniel felt a bit awkward. “Sorry, ma’am. Thank you for your understanding. I think Amora City will get better and better under your leadership.”

“First, I’m just an ordinary administrator in this city. There is a mayor above .” Wendy didn’t have a good impression of Daniel; this guy could talk for three days and three nights with just a little excuse, a typical person who would never let things go.

“Secondly, even if I agree, Mr. Yan Fei can only undergo an early assessnt and cannot get a gun permit to buy guns directly. The necessary assessnts must be done, and he must pass them too.”

Daniel looked at Yan Fei, who nodded: “No problem, ma’am. Thank you! Now, about my driver’s license?”

“I can also let you take the test directly.” Wendy’s attitude toward Yan Fei was much better, even though she knew he wasn’t from a good family. However, those who have money are the bosses; later, she’ll still depend on him for tax revenues. How can she not be courteous? “But Mr. Yan, it’s best to prepare because besides the driving test, there’s also a traffic rules knowledge test beforehand. From what I understand, Mr. Yan hasn’t been here for very long…”

“I have no problem with that,” Yan Fei said with a smile. “If I can take the test tomorrow, I think there shouldn’t be any issue.”

“Alright!” Wendy had nothing more to say. “Then I’ll wish you in advance good luck on getting your driver’s license!”

“Thank you!” Yan Fei smiled and expressed his gratitude.

Wendy quickly called a young blonde secretary to accompany the three of them to register.

Actually, there was an easier thod to drive directly, which was to translate and notarize the original license. However, that has requirents: the original license must have three years of driving experience.

Sadly, Boss Yan had just turned eighteen, and he hadn’t obtained a driving license even though he had driven before. Even if he got it early later on, it hasn’t been three years yet. Instead of making more fuss, it would be easier to take the test directly.

When talking to Wendy, only one na was reported, but in reality, Yan Fei also registered his wife’s na.

After registration, the two of them were unable to return to the ranch and checked into a hotel in the city—they couldn’t possibly take the test today. The driver’s test was scheduled for tomorrow, including the gun permit assessnt as well.

Once they found a hotel, Yan Fei went with Xu Xiaoyan, following Daniel, to a shooting range for basic gun training before the assessnt.

The range was indoors; after all, it’s just basic training, no need to lug heavy weaponry into the wilderness.

Watching his wife learn how to hold a gun with Daniel, Yan Fei felt a bit secretly delighted—the dinosaur ranch didn’t lack these things, but Xu Xiaoyan wasn’t interested and only learned a bit of the basics, rarely actually firing a gun.

Seeing his wife look his way, Yan Fei quickly held the gun properly and began aiming at the target.

He aid for quite a while but never pulled the trigger.

After Xu Xiaoyan finished learning, he finally stepped up to watch his wife begin shooting at the target.

“Bang!”

“Great!” As soon as the gunshot rang out, Yan Fei imdiately started clapping. “First shot on target, way to go, wife.”

Xu Xiaoyan’s face flushed. She glared at him, steadied herself, and kept firing.

“Bang!”

“Clap clap clap!” Yan Fei clapped again. “The second shot is also on target, impressive!”

For the next few shots, Yan Fei also continuously found ways to praise her until his wife sent him off to the side. Don’t be fooled by the girl’s dainty appearance; with exceptional physical fitness, learning to shoot wasn’t too hard.

Although her later shots were still on target, it was clear that the girl was improving rapidly.

This girl was quite remarkable; she’s just always been overshadowed by Yan Fei’s brilliance. Now watching her reflect and ponder after each shot, although her next shot might not imdiately improve, it was apparent she was becoming more composed.

“For your first ti shooting, don’t overdo it,” Daniel advised beside her. “Otherwise, your wrist will hurt tomorrow.”

Yan Fei knew his wife’s level; seeing Xu Xiaoyan eager to continue learning, he overrode Daniel’s suggestion and let Xu Xiaoyan continue practicing there.

As for himself, it wasn’t really necessary. During downti, he played with both big and small guns and was very accurate—if the bullet can’t shoot through a dinosaur’s eye, it’s basically ineffective.

“Mr. Yan, won’t you give it a try?” Daniel couldn’t help but say, seeing Yan Fei confidently not even testing the gun.

Yan Fei looked at the small pistol in his hand: “Why not, I’ll give it a try…”

Bang bang bang bang, and he finished shooting in less than five seconds.

Daniel looked at the ssy bullet holes on Yan Fei’s target, unable to co up with any complint. Just as he was about to change the topic, he glanced at Xu Xiaoyan’s target.

He couldn’t believe it, so he looked back at Yan Fei’s target and then at Xu Xiaoyan’s.

Then back at Yan Fei’s, and back to Xu Xiaoyan’s again.

He looked and looked, and kept looking, never ending…
