Life is full of codies!

f.(r)eewe/bnov\ll

ng Si’an feels like he’s acting in a cody right now, except he’s the villain, the kind of tragic character whose misfortunes make the audience even happier.

Two young n stood at the door, dressed appropriately and each had their unique charm, which was quite attractive.

Noticing they were being watched, Yan Fei gently nudged ng Si’an, pushing him to walk forward—despite everything, ng, being experienced, managed to maintain a calm deanor, even though he felt constipated inside. At least, keeping a graceful appearance was not a problem.

But deep inside, he was cursing non-stop. If he hadn’t drunk too much last night, he wouldn’t have had no ti to prepare today; if he had prepared, he wouldn’t have thought of bringing a sidekick to boost his courage. In hindsight, it was foolish. The girl ca alone, and you, a grown man, needed company—what, are you afraid she’d abduct you?

Even more foolish was bringing soone taller and more imposing than himself. ng Si’an felt today’s event could beco a lifelong joke at his expense if it got out.

Walking with the heavy stride of soone entering a jail, he finally reached the pretty girl’s table. As soon as ng Si’an spoke, he exposed that his composure was rely pretend: "You... hello, I’m ng Wenzheng’s nephew, ng An... ng Si’an..."

However, the girl was quite calm, standing up with a bright smile: "Hello, I’m Chen Siwen. You’re late, please have a seat! And this is?"

"I’m Si’an’s buddy. He said he already knew the girl was quite fond of you and feared he wouldn’t be able to speak well when he arrived, so he brought along for moral support," Yan Fei rudely pulled out a chair and sat down boldly.

The strong local Sancha River accent left ng Si’an stunned. Oh my dear friend, are you here to sabotage ? Then it dawned on him, are you using your crudeness to highlight my wit and charm? But isn’t your performance a bit over the top?

The girl was apparently taken aback as well. Although Yan Fei’s Sancha River dialect was authentic, the articulation was clear enough in Yuzhou dialect. It might not have been completely intelligible, but partial comprehension was possible.

The phrase ’quite fond of you’, at least, was not that hard to guess for the girl.

She blushed slightly, glanced repeatedly at Yan Fei, then gazed at the expressionless ng Si’an and suddenly smiled again: "Really? Well, I’m really honored to have the future successor of the ng family interested in . What would you two like to eat?"

Still reeling from Boss Yan’s earlier words, ng Si’an couldn’t react in ti before Yan Fei spoke again: "I’m not eating. Just bringing Si’an here has my task done. He said he’s planning to open a large restaurant and would only consider personal matters after establishing his career. But he didn’t want to miss eting you today because he’s so fond of you."

"He’s been fretting over this small matter the whole day. I think eting soone you fancy isn’t easy; it’s for a lifeti together. Even if it’s early, what’s wrong with getting to know each other sooner? It’s even better for the future, working together through thick and thin! He couldn’t bear not showing up, worried about not speaking well, and insisted I co along."

"I heard you’ve been abroad, and he’s planning to open one of those Western-style beef restaurants. He’s found the country’s first supplier certified by Arica with the highest grade for their beef, and he’s sure he can achieve great things. I particularly admire Si’an for his planning skills, acting only after thorough preparation."

Yan Fei spoke slowly, and though his accent was strong, the beautiful girl seemingly understood quite a bit. Beside him, ng Si’an managed to stay calm and controlled his urge to punch Yan Fei, showing composure befitting the old monks of Huiju Temple.

Chen Siwen laughed, turned to ng Si’an with a smile, and asked, "Is what he said true?"

Feeling shaken by the smile, ng Si’an hurriedly responded: "There is such a plan. We have contact with this supplier already. Their beef has quite a reputation along the coast although there’s no such internationally recognized certification. My plan was to open a supply shop, but when the certification ca in, I saw an opportunity to try opening a larger restaurant firsthand."

"I’ve calculated it. The primary material costs involving beef and transport wouldn’t be more than...including other restaurant operational costs, I estimate profits to be higher than a few current restaurants using imported beef by... This has been proven in coastal and Hong Kong restaurants."

"Moreover, in terms of beef grade, it far exceeds others. My projected investnt is..."

ng Si’an was no longer stuttering because he had thought about these words countless tis and discussed them with Yan Fei several tis, even while drunk.

So it was Yan Fei’s turn to be dumbfounded, speechless as he looked at ng Si’an. Broadcasting your future business plans and even expected profits on your first blind date—isn’t that fearing the potential wife might not know you have a rainy-day fund?

If the girl’s inner thoughts don’t match her outer beauty, she could execute your business plan herself, couldn’t she? At the very least, she could compete with you—if the beef supplier weren’t Yan Fei but soone else, that would be entirely possible. A business with such promising profits will have plenty of people wanting a piece. In a city as big as the Capital, you do your thing, I do mine, who could say otherwise?
