Originally, I wanted to go ho and have a sweet, loving dinner with my wife, but she sent a text saying she wouldn’t be coming back for lunch.

Yan Fei wasn’t disappointed, because he understood his wife—she’s just shy!

After getting bold last night, she’s bound to have a two-day shy period. That’s just how she is; sotis she doesn’t even know where she gets the courage to do things. Afterward, she’s left thinking about it, feeling extrely frustrated and unable to move on for a couple of days.

However, based on Boss Yan’s experience, reviewing it again at night will be fine... as Confucius said, "Review the old and learn the new!"

Then, just as he was looking forward to the evening in the afternoon, a phone call frustrated him.

Heizi called to inform him that Mayor Chen from the town was being transferred away.

They said the new mayor would be arriving soon, and they wanted to complete the handover before New Year’s Day. Ti was tight, and although Heizi was told not to inform Yan Fei, they’ve had a wonderful partnership with the cattle farm over the past few years, so Heizi had to give Yan Fei a heads-up.

So, he decided to make a trip back!

After all, having dealt with him for years, Mayor Chen was truly a good person. Now that the town has beco prosperous, he’s leaving with clean hands. If he didn’t go back, a person like Boss Yan, who values principles, wouldn’t be able to let it go.

He finally managed to have a sweet, loving dinner with his wife after school and shalessly persisted in revisiting yesterday’s exercise. In the middle of the night, Yan Fei had to leave the warm bed and drive ho.

The reason for choosing midnight, of course, was for easier flying access.

He passed by the repair shop site of Boss White on his way out of the Provincial City and headed to the Dinosaur World.

The laboratory folks were working diligently, but the lab mice used in the experints had reportedly been bred for many generations and were now largely unusable. The laborers were currently substituting them with so kind of mammal resembling a mouse from Dinosaur World, but the results were not yet available.

However, it had already been proven that this longevity dicine being researched was at least beneficial. The extent of its effects still required further slow testing.

The current challenge was that different environnts posed different reactions; even so older laborers experienced varying degrees of physical improvent upon entering the facility. They couldn’t even test the drug because they feared any changes might be due to the environnt rather than the drug itself.

Yan Fei pondered this problem for a long ti and then took the experintal dicine that was produced out for use.

He flew to Sancha River, scouted around the entire village, and finding not even a petty thief, he finally flew back near River Heart Island. Then he drove to the bridgehead on River Heart Island, went up to the little guardhouse, and knocked on the door.

Old Cheng’s voice imdiately ca from inside, "Who’s there?"

Yan Fei replied, "It’s , Xiao Fei. Master Cheng, open the door first; then I’ll go call Old Gong..."

"No need to call him; we were playing chess last night, and he’s sleeping at my place." Old Cheng opened the door with a cheerful smile.

Yan Fei was speechless for a mont. You say you’re disabled in body, not in mind, so that doesn’t stop you from playing chess. But Old Gong, he’s practically blind; how do you two even manage to play chess together?

But he couldn’t be bothered to ask about that; these two old folks had most of their work taken over by others. They used to do trimming of flowers and bushes; now, Chen Tai Guang and Qiu Dazhuang from the security team vie for the work,

Chen and Qiu are the heroic soldiers who were injured while saving lives, and while their health has improved a lot, they still can’t handle heavy work compared to other security team mbers. They’re grateful for the job opportunity the farm has given them, so they strive to do whatever they can.

So with most of the work being taken over by others, the two old folks had more free ti. And since elderly people don’t sleep much, playing chess was a normal pasti—even for a blind man, there are many ways to play, not to ntion Old Gong isn’t completely blind.

Once inside, Yan Fei simply took out a pack of dicine and opened it, "I have sothing for you two to consider: Tomorrow, go for a physical examination, then start taking this dicine. Whatever effects it has, don’t worry about it, and you must not tell others. Just take it, and if you feel uncomfortable, give a call, though I doubt it. If you feel good and want more after finishing the pack, ask . Deal?"

"What’s there to deal about!" Old Gong happily replied. "Is this sothing new from your lab? We can’t let others know? Don’t worry, we won’t say a word."

Yan Fei nodded, "Pretty much, but you mustn’t disclose it. For now, you two will try it out. If the results are good, I’ll get so for Teacher Qi. His body isn’t as strong as yours, so I can’t give it to him yet. This dicine is intended for people like him; you two understanding this is enough, but you can’t say anything, absolutely nothing to anyone."

"I pledge on my dal..."

"No, no, no, Master Cheng, it’s not that serious." Yan Fei quickly stopped Old Cheng from swearing. Just kidding, bringing out that dal is a bit overkill. Yan Fei felt that although it would be shocking if ntioned, it wasn’t necessary to involve such a serious pledge.

The crucial point was that Yan Fei trusted these two old n; Old Gong had previously been ready to risk his life for Yan Fei. Seeing Yan Fei give them the dicine without hesitation or question showed trustworthiness.

If Yan Fei couldn’t trust them, there really wouldn’t be anyone else to trust.

As for Old Cheng, the dal alone was enough to guarantee trust from anyone.

Yan Fei still explained, "The drug is definitely effective, but I’m not sure exactly how. The effects shouldn’t be too intense; think of it as sothing that works slowly over ti. If it really works, Old Gong, you’ll soon have to prepare for the arrival of your great-grandchildren."

Just as he finished speaking, he saw Old Gong getting ready to stand up, so Yan Fei quickly held him back, "No, no, no, as long as you don’t inquire where the dicine cos from and tell how you feel after taking it, that will be a great help to . We’ve known each other for more than a couple of days, so there’s no need to go on about it."

"Anyway, rember to go for the physical checkup tomorrow, keep the report safe, and if you feel better later on, let know, and we’ll have another checkup. That’s it. Rember, if you feel any discomfort, be sure to tell ; that’s very important."

After he finished explaining, he left in the car without staying any longer.

The two old n looked at the dicine with complex emotions, but it reminded them of sothing. Since arriving at the cattle farm, especially during the early days when als were communal, their health had both improved.

The younger n weren’t very sensitive to the change, as they were all engaged in physical labor like Heizi and the others. They attributed their fitness to the hard work, but the two old n knew their own conditions well.

Seeing Yan Fei’s dicine now, they found it incredibly unbelievable. After a long mont, Old Gong finally responded, "Old Li, quickly, hide this stuff. Keep it all, and call when it’s ti to take it. This stuff, if it’s really as Boss Yan says, that’s extraordinary!"

"It’s indeed extraordinary." Old Cheng also felt the sa and quickly grabbed the dicine to wrap it up. "We mustn’t talk about this carelessly. How on earth did Xiao Fei manage to make this stuff? If people get wind of it, it could scare them to death!"

Though the two n were old, they weren’t dim-witted. Yan Fei’s explanation was so clear, how could they not understand?

In reality, it might not be as powerful as they imagined, but the key is that stories related to this kind of dicine are ingrained in the bones of everyone living on this land. Thinking about past emperors throughout history and what they went through for such dicine is enough to frighten anyone...

By this ti, Yan Fei had already made his way into the animal sanctuary. It had been a long ti since he’d visited, and a few little tigers initially bared their teeth at him, but quickly, with his familiar scent, they turned back into little kittens.

Seeing the patrolling personnel moving away, with ti still early, Yan Fei secretly gave them an extra al. He stayed with them until almost dawn, only leaving when Heizi and his group, having received news, ca looking for him, after which he went to greet them.

Then he promptly dismissed the folks who ca to consult him—because, in Yan Fei’s view, this behavior couldn’t be encouraged. He couldn’t have a bunch of people approaching him with every little detail as soon as he ca back. Wouldn’t that tire him out?

Even things discussed over the phone couldn’t be insisted on in his presence, was it really necessary?

After sending them away, Yan Fei finally started discussing with Teacher Qi about setting up a new laboratory to research dicine...
