Chapter 1715: Chapter 814 Bai Jianren Gas Station_2

So he waved his hand calmly: “Let’s talk sitting on the bed. If you keep ssing around and hurt yourself worse, I won’t be able to make you do what I need you to do!”

Hearing Yan Fei’s softened tone, Boss White dared not relax and stayed kneeling on the ground. In just a mont, sweat beads were dripping off his face: “Boss Yan, unless you say so, I won’t get up. The mistake was mine alone; I’ll accept whatever punishnt you decide, whether a beating or a penalty. Even if you ask to guard your gates for the rest of my life, I’d consider myself lucky.”

He was clearly terrified by Boss Yan’s reputation for tearing things apart. He didn’t want to find himself bedridden while his ho got destroyed. During the ti Boss Yan was abroad, Boss White had been keeping close tabs on him. When Boss Yan returned and didn’t leave his ho, he was aware of it and had been worried ever since. Now, finally seeing Boss Yan and confirming his house was intact, he could let go of a tiny bit of the anxiety.

Boss White was clearly playing the pity card, and he was indeed struggling. With his injuries still unhealed, he was forcing himself through sheer willpower, likely using every ounce of toughness he cultivated when he built his fortune.

Yan Fei saw through it but, upon reflection, felt they had both been punished adequately. His anger had mostly dissipated. He was ready to let things go, but considering Boss White might still feel uneasy, he hesitated. Yan Fei didn’t see himself as soone who clung to a grudge excessively. The problem, though, was that others saw him as the kind of devil who would destroy your entire family just for giving him a dirty look.

He thought about it: there was really nothing for Boss White to do…

Watching Boss White’s face grow increasingly pale and noticing the woman beside him starting to shed tears in sync with his sweat droplets, an idea struck Yan Fei. “How about this: once you’ve recovered, go apologize to Teacher Yu and try to earn his forgiveness. And hey, didn’t you switch cars when you left the other day? That place, it’s yours, right?”

Seeing Boss White nod, Yan Fei continued, “I think the location looks pretty decent. When you’ve healed, how about we partner up and build a gas station there? Consider it a collaboration. Whether you trust or not isn’t my concern—you can ask around if you want. When I say I do business, I follow business rules. As for the details, we’ll discuss once you’re better. Deal?”

Boss White couldn’t hold on any longer. Hearing this outco, he imdiately nodded without overthinking it: “Alright, I’ll do whatever you say, Boss Yan.”

He then gestured for the woman to help him back into bed.

Yan Fei stood up, watching him lie back down. “Alright, it’s settled then. Take good care of yourself, recover quickly, and co find when you’re ready.”

As soon as Yan Fei left, the woman beside Boss White muttered quietly, “Brother Ren, that’s our auto repair factory. It makes a good amount of money every month, and yet you’re just giving it away?”

Boss White sighed, “If he wants it, then he can have it; it’s just a plot of land anyway. Once I recover, we’ll figure out a way to acquire more land nearby and open another auto repair factory. Didn’t you notice how he knew everything about what I did, including where I switched cars…”

There was another thought he didn’t dare voice, fearing it’d scare the woman—Boss Yan even knew about that! He’d heard from Old Lang that, during a car accident, a crow had stolen soone’s phone.

For sothing that bizarre to actually happen… And thinking back to Young Master Fang’s group being bitten by insects, Boss White figured if he didn’t take these things seriously, he would’ve wasted all the years he had lived—better safe than sorry!

Especially when Yan Fei directly ntioned the car-switching spot earlier. It solidified Boss White’s suspicions further. Since Boss Yan was eyeing that plot of land, better to concede. As long as the situation didn’t spiral out of control now, there would always be opportunities to rise again later…

In truth, Boss White didn’t believe for a second that Yan Fei had any real intention of collaborating on a gas station. In his view, if he had been in Yan Fei’s position, he’d simply take the land outright. The talk of partnership was just a polite way to soften the blow in conversation.

The gas station idea was sothing Yan Fei ca up with spontaneously.

It was the first ti he’d planned sothing unrelated to his usual sches or ventures. The dinosaur base, for instance, had designs for a wood-burning generator, but vehicles still required fuel. As the base expanded, fuel needs would also increase significantly.

Transporting oil from Japan wasn’t too much trouble, but people tend to get lazy. Besides, Boss Yan wasn’t fond of leaving his bed at night—if he owned a gas station himself and had fuel deliveries sent by tanker truck to the base regularly, wouldn’t that be much more convenient?

Anyway, the auto repair factory’s location was remote and perfect for avoiding prying eyes while conducting certain activities.

And by taking over Boss White’s auto repair factory, Yan Fei felt he was actually doing a service for all the night-shift drivers. If you don’t believe it, just ask around—nowadays, how many long-haul truck drivers running night shifts haven’t experienced the classic scenario of getting a flat tire only to stop and imdiately find a conveniently located repair shop nearby?

What’s even more infuriating is when you wake up the repair guy, and the “polite” ones ask with fake concern what the issue is, while those more straightforward whip out their tire irons and cordless drills, clearly ready to fix your tire on the spot. That’s still considered lucky—so won’t even bother asking and will directly start with “Which tire is it?”

Damn it—drivers with fiery temperants might end up fuming with internal injuries on the spot. But what can they do? They’ll still have to swallow their anger and pay the friendship price of fifteen taels or the standard rate of thirty. Despite their seemingly crude tools, the repair guys are insanely skilled and efficient—not even ten minutes and everything’s done, world-class speed you can’t help but admire.

Feeling like he’d done a heroic deed, Yan Fei gleefully headed to the Law School and sent his wife a text.

In a short while, Xu Xiaoyan ca running out, not even giving Yan Fei a chance to report what he’d been up to all morning. She hurriedly asked, “Yan Xiaofei, what’s your take on that Ocean issue? She asked about it again today. Are we letting her co to our place or not?”

“I’ll go with whatever you decide.” Yan Fei decisively tossed the problem back to his wife.

“Huh?” Xu Xiaoyan blinked, surprised, staring at Yan Fei in confusion.

“What’s the matter?” Yan Fei felt smug. “Leaving this decision to you is perfect, isn’t it? You’re the boss now. Once we get married, half of everything will belong to you, but you can’t just let handle everything!”

“We’re all in the sa dorm room—I don’t know how to talk to her about this!” Xu Xiaoyan said, distressed.

“If you think she should co, tell her it’s fine. If you don’t want her there, just say I won’t allow it—problem solved!” Yan Fei said with an air of responsibility. After all, isn’t being a husband all about taking the bla for your wife?

“Alright, I’ll think about it,” Xu Xiaoyan replied. She didn’t even argue against his cheeky remarks this ti. Previously, his talk of marriage would have led her to retort, “Who’s marrying you?”

Now that their relationship had grown closer (she’d even asured certain “dinsions” of his by hand), her attitude had softened, and her shyness had lessened.

With her mindset changing, Xu Xiaoyan no longer avoided the idea. Since Yan Fei encouraged her to take charge, she decided to handle this one.

Even after they got ho, Xu Xiaoyan hadn’t made up her mind. Not that Yan Fei cared—he was already washing vegetables and cooking.

Just as he finished plating the food at the table, the phone rang.

Picking up the call, Yan Fei imdiately spoke up: “Officer Chang, I followed your suggestion and t with Bai Jianren. What else do you need for now?”

The voice on the other end was serious: “Comrade Yan Fei, we just received news: a murder occurred in the Luo City suburbs—the victim is Ma Changfu. According to forensic analysis, the ti of death was around yesterday evening. There are so matters we need to ask you about.”

“Ma Changfu? I don’t even know him,” Yan Fei said, surprised.

“Ma Changfu, a.k.a. Ma Zi, is the informant who provided tips to catch the two perpetrators in Teacher Yu’s assault case…”

“Oh, now I rember him! He pocketed twenty taels but didn’t hurry to hide and spend it—how’d he end up killed?” Yan Fei nearly forgot about him. To him, twenty taels wasn’t worth giving much thought. “What do you need from ?”
