Chapter 1678: Chapter 796 The Reason for Being Late

It is said that a Supre Court Justice in Arica once remarked: “Justice may be delayed, but it is never absent.”

Whether this statent is fabricated or not, it fits Boss Yan perfectly—his “necklace” will eventually be completed; it’s just a matter of ti.

Helen Laurence, the beautiful journalist, was pale but unwavering, holding her microphone firmly as she faced the cara and said, “…Just a minute ago, less than five minutes after all the police and security personnel had left, an explosion was heard inside the bank. The cars around now blaring their alarms are proof of it. Unfortunately, our earlier prayers and hopes for Fresno’s safety have not co true…”

As a journalist, Helen had no way of knowing what was happening inside the bank. The footage captured by the cara outside only showed a pitch-black scene. Yet even with such limited visuals, practically everyone in the city watching the news was glued to the unfolding events.

A few minutes later, the vehicles that had just departed ca rushing back, sirens wailing madly. Given the tragic results of previous bank incidents, these furious individuals who had briefly left and returned imdiately disregarded protocol and stord through the bank’s entrance, flooded inside…

Helen even edged closer to the entrance with her microphone. No one bothered to stop her at this point; so even gestured for their caras to avoid filming people and focus on the entrance instead. With the chain of events escalating, most people realized the peculiarities inside, and every bit of effort seed vital. There was no doubt that the bank’s surveillance systems had completely failed by now. Perhaps this cara might capture sothing useful!

In re minutes, this bank had garnered unprecedented attention. One wonders whether this was a blessing or a curse for its upper managent.

In fact, many relevant parties had been closely following this series of events. The sheer number of people implicated was staggering, leading to countless sleepless nights. Only the average person, unburdened by such concerns, could sleep peacefully.

Boss Yan’s actions could be described as blatantly obvious. He bulldozed his way forward without any attempt to conceal his intentions. Anyone with a bit of sense could look at a map and trace out an ugly, crooked line of his movents, predicting a few possible future targets.

This was one of the reasons for his delay in reaching the sixth city.

When he passed through the gambling city, he was surprised to find that the streets were rather lively despite the late hour.

The gambling city, naturally, had the largest number of casinos. Aside from bank heists during normal tis, robberies targeting precious tal shops and casinos were common as well. So when a string of related incidents occurred, the people in the casinos couldn’t sit idly by.

Casino owners were anything but lacking in intelligence, and many of them belonged to the upper echelon of brilliance. After just a few consecutive news reports, so imdiately sensed danger—it was abundantly clear that if things continued like this, sothing might happen here too.

Typically, robberies in other cities might only target banks, but in the gambling city, its grand casinos weren’t inferior to standard bank branches, perhaps even surpassing them. Who’s to say that when it ca ti for this city, the heist wouldn’t extend beyond banks?

Given this possibility, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Preparation starts early!

The phrase “arms proliferation” isn’t just casual talk here—virtually every casino had its own stash of firearms. Once potential threats arose, these weapons were promptly taken out, even those exceeding state legal limits were utilized.

But at this precarious mont, the local security forces turned a blind eye to such violations. In this mont, an extraordinary and fleeting alliance erged: security forces and casinos stood together as one.

The security forces, including ard guards for banks, closely watched over the precious tal shops, while the casinos guarded their own entrances with murderous resolve, ready to trigger dramatic street shootouts at any mont.

The oddity was that so casinos were situated near these precious tal shops. Imagine one side populated by ard security forces exuding seriousness and professionalism, while directly across from them was utter chaos—a mix of punk-styled militants, absurd spectacles, re steps away, glaring at each other.

Even “chaos” hardly does justice to the scene. Here were burly Black n dressed as Blade warriors, white young n with multicolored hair, jingling with accessories like rock band vocalists…

In the chilly weather, scantily clad non-n draped in fur coats over tiny strips of fabric joined the ensemble, including those who looked little better than undead zombies—the junkie types. These were the thrill-seekers, the ones here for the spectacle. After all, what’s more exhilarating to such individuals than witnessing or even participating in a globally shocking chain of robberies?

The ard security forces stationed here looked as if they were standing in the midst of a parade of demons and monsters. Their morale, already deflated, was further diminished by these “allied forces” around them…

But the gambling city’s reaction this ti was truly an overreaction. Unfortunately, Boss Yan’s “necklace” had no “pearls” for this city.

It was just that when Xiaohei, like a lightning bolt, flashed past the gambling city and happened to glance down, Boss Yan was astounded on the spot!
