Chapter 1638: Chapter 780: Dostic Affairs at Processing Factory

Boss Yan is ho!

In Tanghe County, Boss Yan’s presence now stirs up more buzz than Secretary Jiao.

Last night was alright; everyone probably knew he was spending his first evening at his parents’ house, so they gave him the chance for a family reunion. But starting the next morning, the phone just wouldn’t stop ringing.

While eating breakfast, Yan Wenhai kept his bowl in hand and watched his busy son. Calmly, he said, “There’s nothing much at ho. If you’re busy, go ahead. We’re heading to work in a bit anyway.”

Yan Chao didn’t care about busy or not. The mont he heard his dad talk about going to work, he perked up imdiately, “Then can I not go to school and follow my brother to play instead?”

“Absolutely not! Your brother is busy with legitimate work!” Lin Xiui imdiately smacked Yan Chao down like a hamr. “Focus on your school studies. You haven’t even ranked in the top ten on exams, you just think about playing all day long.”

“Liu Haoyu ranked fifth on the exams, and his dad rewarded him with a new pair of shoes. You never buy anything…” Yan Chao pouted and argued back.

“Hey, you little brat, still got the nerve to talk back!” Lin Xiui fud. “When you rank fifth, I’ll buy you whatever you want. Got what it takes?”

“I can do it next ti. Then you’d better give so pocket money first. I need to buy a new pen; Liu Haoyu already has a new pen.” Yan Chao stared with wide eyes, a mix of defiance and anticipation.

“You can’t even write properly, what do you need a pen for? How many kids in your class even use pens? Bad at studying yet asking for all sorts of things—hurry up and eat your breakfast! Finish up and get going to school.” Lin Xiui glared, her brows furrowed in anger.

“Fine, fine, not giving it to . Why do you gotta act so tough…” Yan Chao assessed the situation and muttered under his breath as he stared down and absent-mindedly picked at his food.

Yan Fei chuckled, “When you rank in the top five, brother will buy it for you. You’ll buy…”

“Eat your food and mind your business.” Lin Xiui didn’t even let Yan Fei finish before flashing a stern look in his direction. “Everyone, just hurry and eat.”

Yan Wenhai kept his head down and ate quietly. The woman of the house was too dominant, best not to provoke her. At the factory, the rough guys would talk about how you had to set your wife straight if she didn’t listen. Yan Wenhai would just smile quietly when he heard that. One, he couldn’t bring himself to do that, and two… if you can’t win a fight, what’s the point of hitting her? Isn’t that just asking to embarrass yourself?

Breakfast was breakfast. Yan Fei also didn’t say another word.

Seeing the trio of n all eating in silence, Lin Xiui bowed her head too, but as she ate, she couldn’t hold it in any longer. “Yan Fei, why don’t I go back ho and work a bit? Honestly, the work at this factory is so boring, I don’t even want to go anymore.”

“You can do whatever you like. Why not head back to the fertilizer factory, bring Dad along too, and you two can do whatever you want there.” Yan Fei imdiately perked up.

Lin Xiui and Yan Wenhai’s jobs really had beco monotonous. Even Lin Xiui, who didn’t have much education, had been given a desk-job with a minor leadership title.

As for Yan Wenhai, his career advancent had been stalled for years. Anyway, he didn’t manage much, so whatever title he held didn’t really make a difference—bigger paycheck, that’s all. The county had tried multiple tis to transfer him to another position, but his refined sense of pride absolutely refused to accept “rise by virtue of one’s children.” And so, he beca soone with no official duties.

Lin Xiui’s temperant was perfectly suited to physical labor in the workshop—she’d be full of energy there. But once she was placed in an office, she just couldn’t sit still. Yet this assignnt from the fertilizer factory and various county leaders was deed a “favor,” and she felt unable to decline. Besides, every ti she tried to go back to the workshop, the managent would panic and forbid her from working, terrified of being held accountable if she got hurt.

In summary, the couple’s current roles essentially amounted to early retirent. No one cared if they showed up to work or not. If they did, colleagues would warmly host them; if they didn’t, no one objected. Their salaries, bonuses, and benefits never changed, and even if they didn’t show up, soone would deliver their pay straight to their door.

It was an ideal job for so, but for these two, it was dreadfully uninspiring.

Yan Fei had long wanted his parents to return to Sancha River, but for now, Yan Chao was still studying here, and he knew his father wasn’t likely to go back. So although he said nothing, deep down he always felt the fertilizer factory was ant for his dad.

This traced back to when Yan Fei got engaged to Xu Xiaoyan. At the ti, his career was just starting to take off, and Yan Wenhai insisted on giving him Bride Price money. Yet the couple didn’t have much saved, and they even took a few months’ advance on their salaries from the factory. This caused Yan Wenhai to miss out on a promotion to a minor leadership role.

Yan Fei had secretly sworn back then that once he beca successful, he’d buy out the fertilizer factory for his dad and make him the director. But now he had long abandoned this idea—managing a at processing plant was already headache enough, and there was no point in taking on more unless he stooped to shady business practices. It’d make more sense to start a brand-new factory from scratch.

Besides, with the county’s overall economic developnt recently picking up, the fertilizer factory’s performance wasn’t half-bad. As long as he was willing to pay, he could certainly buy it, but it wouldn’t be like last ti where people begged him to take over.

Unfortunately, Yan Wenhai was bound to disappoint the family. After a brief hesitation, he said, “I think I’ll stay at the factory. If your mom wants to go back, let her go first. Xiaochao still needs to go to school here. I can stay here and make sure it doesn’t disrupt his studies.”

“Well, you could co to the at processing plant, too!” Yan Fei urged anxiously. This was a rare opportunity—his mom had openly expressed a lack of interest in her current job. It was the perfect chance to get them both to work at his plant. No matter what kind of job they did there, it’d surely be better than the boredom they dealt with now.
