Xiaohei also helped his brother out with an explanation, “We were still discussing giving them a few spots no matter what, let them go through the motions.
But then Secretary Jiao spoke up and said to simply have them stop ssing around and handed the matter over to us.”
“In fact, most of the townships didn’t even organize any selection activities.
When the county called them, they all said, ‘Isn’t this Boss Yan’s affair?
Why should we join in the ss?
It would just be embarrassing to go.'” Soone chid in from a short distance away.
“Boss Yan, you’re here early!”
Yan Fei turned around and quickly greeted, “Secretary Jiao, Secretary Zhao, you guys are here too?”
Secretary Jiao said with a smile, “We’re the hosts, how could I not co and have a look?
I heard from Chairman Dong that you were heading this way, so I guessed you’d co to check out the Cattle Market and decided to co see for myself.
Xiao Fei, our Tanghe County is counting on you this ti.
I won’t ask how you’re prepared, I’ll just ask you how many prizes do you plan to win for our county?”
Tanghe County was a major breeding area for Wan City Yellow Cattle, and Yan Fei had originally thought about just casually getting a prize for the sake of it, but now that he heard Secretary Jiao say this, he just rembered the matter.
He replied imdiately, “We’ll all follow Secretary Jiao’s arrangent; you tell us how many prizes you want, and we’ll try our best to win that many.”
“Hahaha!” Secretary Jiao laughed out loud.
“Okay, seeing that you’re so confident, I’m reassured.”
After chatting with a few people, Secretary Jiao went off to take care of other matters.
Watching Secretary Jiao leave, Yan Fei was relieved; it was a good thing he had just asked Heizi about it, otherwise, he wouldn’t have even known about the selection, and Secretary Jiao wouldn’t have been so assured.
Heizi got excited, “Brother Fei, Secretary Jiao has spoken; he wants us to win several prizes.
What do you think?”
Yan Fei waved his hand, “Find a truck, bring over those other selected bulls, and let’s prepare first and see how it goes.”
While Heizi went to make a phone call to arrange things, Yan Fei called Pang Fa, “Brother Fa, we’re right here at the venue now.
Where are your people?”
He laughed as he spoke, “Alright, I hear you now; you’re at our county’s site, right?”
Pang Fa said from the other end, “We were ready a long ti ago, but just before leaving, I heard that this venue was lacking even tables and benches, so I had to arrange for soone to bring over a truckload of tables and benches.
Everything here is set up now, but there are quite a few people around, I’ll co find you in a bit.”
“No need, no need, there’s a big crowd on this side, we’re just heading back,” Yan Fei said with a smile.
Just as he was about to leave, two large trucks passed on the road, both low-fenced, with wooden fras carrying the bulls clearly visible from outside.
Heizi wasn’t worried at all when he saw this, “The institute’s bulls aren’t any better, huh?
It seems this ti we’ll win as many prizes as we want.”
Wan City Yellow Cattle’s several major breeding areas were all close to Tanghe County, and they all knew each other very well.
Even XiPing County in the west, which was a bit further, was familiar with the larger breeders there, it’s just that they didn’t get along as much as the ones here did.
The only exception was this institute; though there had been quite a bit of contact in the early stages, due to unpleasant beginnings, there was very little or practically no cooperation later.
Hearing Heizi’s words, Old Ou replied seriously, “Brother Heizi, don’t be arrogant!
Pride leads to downfall…”
From his mock serious look, it was clear he was joking—this wasn’t arrogance, his little tail was practically wagging to the sky.
Yan Fei didn’t care about what they were saying, after all the bulls were there on display, and it was impossible to fake that.
There was no need to say anything, when they stood together for comparison, it would be clear at a glance who’s were superior and who’s were inferior.
When the group returned to the venue, with their addition, Pang Fa and Chen Liqiang also breathed a sigh of relief and explained, “I just figured you would bring a lot of people, that’s why I didn’t bring so many over.
Sales at the factory are going well right now, and I don’t want to interfere with production.”
This was nothing, Yan Fei asked, “Did you bring a lot of Cooked Beef?
Like these vacuum-packed ones?”
Pang Fa pointed with his hand, “Those two big boxes are all it, I thought we’d open so for people to taste once we got to the scene.
I was afraid there wouldn’t be enough for all, so I specially brought more.
Now it looks like maybe I brought too much…”
Yan Fei looked around and then at the ti, “It’s still early, everyone is just starting to pour in here by the carload, and in a while, there should be even more.”
He was absolutely right; the venue was initially filled with people from nearby who had co to see what was going on and so who were participating in the Yellow Cattle festival sporadically.
As soon as the organized groups ca, they arrived in crowds and were all rushing for ti.
The number of people quickly increased, and soon the entire venue beca noisy, to the point where even the loudspeakers didn’t seem as effective.
However, when most of the people had arrived, it also ant that the ti was almost up.
In no ti at all, soone ran over and shouted, “Boss Yan, the leaders will be coming soon; Chairman Dong is busy and asked to invite you over.”
