The newsstand owner slowly spoke, ntioning recent major events, such as how the Demon King had gone to the Bass Archipelago and attempted to attack a Weaver, but was blocked by other Exalted and ultimately left empty-handed.
As Carlotta listened, she felt this incident sounded oddly familiar. Then it hit her, wasn't that exactly what had happened to her?
Luckily, after ntioning that, the newsstand owner shifted to talking about matters concerning the Southern Continent, which allowed Carlotta to quickly gather information.
In the Southern Continent, events truly considered important were few in number. Most were related to clashes between the three factions.
Frictions between the Beastn and Human factions. Conflicts between the Demon King's faction and Humans. Beastn and the Demon King's faction fights tooth and nail like dogs.
"Speaking of the most notable recent event, there's actually one more, the Sky Island has appeared."
The newsstand owner said.
"What?"
Carlotta and Alia imdiately perked up.
The Sky Island was never exclusive to the Northern Continent. It appeared randomly all over the world without any fixed pattern.
Sotis, it would erge deep in the ocean, possibly vanishing before anyone ever noticed its presence.
Such cases had indeed occurred. Once, soone spotted the Sky Island in the middle of the ocean, overjoyed beyond words, only to watch it disappear instantly. The witness was left utterly stunned.
Therefore, the Sky Island also held legendary fa in the Southern Continent, considered as a holy land in the eyes of many.
Carlotta quickly asked about the Sky Island's location.
The existence of this island was extraordinary, clearly linked to gods. She was eager to explore it, many mysteries she couldn't perceive in the past, she could likely uncover now with her current strength.
"Little miss, you two want to go to the Sky Island? That's not exactly a safe place. The rewards are great, yes, but once you enter, you might never return, not even leaving behind bones."
The newsstand owner kindly warned.
Many people, after hearing the nurous legends about the Sky Island, beca obsessed with its potential treasures, forgetting that danger always accompanied reward. They rushed there only to never co back.
The newsstand owner had heard of such cases before, so she offered this well-ant warning.
Carlotta smiled, "Don't worry. Our strength isn't low. Where is the Sky Island? When did it appear? And how long will it remain?"
Seeing Carlotta still asking with eager eyes, the newsstand owner could only sigh and relay the relevant information.
The appearance of the Sky Island was always a major event, widely known. Even if she didn't speak up, others could learn of it through various channels. So she might as well just tell them clearly.
Thus, the newsstand owner began detailing the matter.
"This ti, the Sky Island's location is particularly delicate, right at the border where the three factions et, forming a triangular zone. Beings from all three factions have already set foot on it. You understand, clashes between them are absolutely inevitable."
The newsstand owner spoke with a serious tone.
If she could, she truly hoped these two girls, who appeared so young and innocent, would avoid the Sky Island altogether. It wasn't a place ant for the young.
She naturally had no idea that these two, seemingly youthful individuals, actually possessed terrifying strength.
After obtaining detailed information, Carlotta gave the money to the newsstand owner and left with Alia.
Once they reached an isolated spot, the two imdiately took flight, returning into the New Moon above.
On the deck of the New Moon, the High Priestess sat in a chair, gazing at the undulating sea of clouds, absorbing the omnipresent divine essence.
"Back so quickly?"
Seeing Carlotta and Alia appear, the High Priestess was slightly surprised. She had expected them to spend a long ti down below. After all, this little couple, whenever given the chance, would beco inseparable, so much that she often felt her presence was entirely redundant.
Carlotta said seriously, "The Sky Island has appeared in the Southern Continent."
The High Priestess' previously teasing expression instantly turned solemn. "Where?"
Carlotta imdiately pulled out a map and pointed to a specific location.
It was a complete map of the Southern Continent, divided into three large regions representing the three factions. At their intersection, a red circle was drawn.
"Right here."
Carlotta said.
"Let's go."
The High Priestess grew urgently.
She knew the Sky Island's appearances were completely random. If they arrived too late, this island connected to gods might vanish without a trace. When it might reappear again, nobody knew.
So if they had this chance now, they absolutely could not let it slip.
Carlotta naturally understood this as well. She had already activated the New Moon, speeding toward the triangular zone where the three factions et.
This triangular zone was known as the Chaos Domain. Here, only one major city exists. Beings from all three factions frequently appear within it, often engaging in fierce battles, yet maintaining a strange balance. It was the only city in the entire Southern Continent where individuals from different factions could coexist.
Of course, this coexistence was peculiar. Conflicts between the three sides were constant.
Moreover, those permitted to stay here were mostly no saints. For example, in the Human faction, many criminals would flee to this chaotic region because the forces of the various Human Kingdoms couldn't reach them.
In the Southern Continent, the Human faction was jointly ford by twenty-two kingdoms of varying sizes, all allied with one another.
...
After so ti, the New Moon finally reached the Chaos Domain.
It was a vast expanse of forested mountains, dotted with nurous ramshackle buildings scattered across different areas, forming a city built upon the mountains.
Above this mountain city, a colossal island now floating in the sky, this was the Sky Island!
Seeing this, Carlotta imdiately retracted the New Moon and quickly flew upward with Alia and the High Priestess toward the Sky Island's entrance.
The entrance of the Sky Island had an external platform. When Carlotta first boarded the Sky Island, this area had been crowded with people setting up stalls, offering to buy various materials afterward.
But now...
One person after another stood on the platform, all looking ferocious and nacing.
As soon as Carlotta and her companions arrived, several fierce-looking n approached: "Pay the toll. Ten thousand Tiras per person."
The Tira was the currency of the Human faction.
These people had actually taken control of the Sky Island's entrance, forcibly charging a toll.
Carlotta almost laughed. Who dared demand a toll from her?
Before she could respond, more figures approached. These beings had lion heads, dog heads, cat heads, clearly all beastn.
"Pay the toll. Since you're human, Tiras will suffice. One person, ten thousand Tiras."
Several beastn spoke in clumsy human language.
But this wasn't over yet.
A few more figures with slightly red skin and horns on their foreheads ca forward, clearly the southern continent's unique demon race.
"We collect tolls too. Ten thousand Tiras per person. Pay quickly."
The leading demon said indifferently.
Seeing all three factions charging tolls here, Carlotta was speechless.
"You belong to different factions," she said. "Yet you're charging tolls together?"
The demon leader replied, "Don't misunderstand. I only collect tolls from demons. Pay us, and demons won't block you. But beastn and humans? Nothing to do with us."
The humans and beastn say the sa.
In other words, to enter the Sky Island, one had to pay thirty thousand Tiras, ten thousand each to the three factions.
"What if I refuse?"
Carlotta asked.
"Refuse and scram!"
A beastman was extrely aggressive, raising his hand and slapping directly towards her.
This beastman had a tiger's head and considerable strength, a peak-tier Resonator.
In fact, everyone daring to collect tolls here held relatively high strength. Otherwise, they wouldn't have the audacity to block the road like this.
Seeing the enormous palm strike towards her, Carlotta's expression instantly turned cold.
"Whoosh!"
No one saw what happened. Everything blurred before their eyes, and the tiger-headed beastman was suddenly torn apart, blood splattering everywhere, viscera scattered across the ground.
This scene unfolded too suddenly, leaving the toll collectors from all three factions stunned, unable to react for a mont.
"Daring to charge protection money? I wonder who gave you the guts. You really... you really seek death!"
Carlotta's face bore no smile now, only cold laughter.
At this mont, did the three toll-collecting groups still not know who had struck?
"You dare attack us! Do you know who's behind us?"
The beastman faction's leader roared furiously, but even as he spat threats, they were all rapidly retreating.
The humans and demon faction mbers were similarly retreating quickly, sensing that Carlotta was not soone to ss with.
Carlotta raised her hand and made a grasping motion in midair. All mbers from the three factions suddenly felt a suffocating pressure enveloping them. Then, they found immovable bodies, as if they turned to stone statues.
"Return to dust."
Carlotta whispered softly. Then she clenched her hand, and in an instant, everyone turned to dust, silently scattering across the ground.
The entrance platform wasn't populated only by these three toll-collecting groups. Others had just reluctantly paid their tolls and were about to enter, witnessing Carlotta's effortless annihilation of the three factions. Their eyes bulged in shock.
"No need to waste ti on trash like this. Next ti you see them, just smack them to death."
The High Priestess said.
Eager to study the Sky Island's secrets, she imdiately stepped through the entrance.
"Wait!"
Carlotta shouted, but she was too late.
Grabbing Alia's hand, she hurriedly entered the Sky Island, yet still a mont too late.
Upon entering the Sky Island, everyone was randomly teleported to different locations. Carlotta couldn't rember whether she'd told the High Priestess about this, but clearly, this ti the High Priestess had been sent to a different area.
Carlotta landed in a forest. Looking around, dense trees stretched endlessly, the wind rustling through the leaves with a soft whisper.
In the distance, overlapping roars of monsters echoed, shaking one area after another.
Carlotta sobbed helplessly. "This priestess really is a genuine hothead when it cos to matters involving gods."
Alia smiled. "But given her strength, even if she's not with us, it doesn't matter. Her safety is assured, and we won't have any safety issues either."
Carlotta nodded. "Let's explore separately."
Although they called it exploration, they were no longer who they used to be. Returning to the Sky Island this ti, they naturally didn't need to proceed as cautiously as before.
Carlotta imdiately flew into the sky, scanning her surroundings and taking in the vast scenery of the Sky Island.
The enormous Sky Island remained just as she rembered, many places radiating a sense of familiarity.
Due to her strength, she had been directly teleported to the inner zone this ti.
The Sky Island's outer zone was normally an area explored only by those below Resonator rank. The inner zone, however, was where Resonators began their exploration.
A long cry rang from the distant sky, followed by the appearance of a blazing firebird, its entire body engulfed in flas.
This firebird emitted an extrely terrifying aura, having already reached the level of a Weaver. Wherever it passed, many explorers below scrambled to hide, not daring to show themselves.
Suddenly, the firebird spotted Carlotta flying in midair and imdiately flapped its wings, rushing towards her. In its eyes, wherever it soared, it was king, and any other flying creature was a challenge to its authority.
"Fool, courting death!"
Carlotta ford her fingers into a sword, slashing through the air at the approaching firebird. A blinding sword beam erupted in midair, its dazzling light forcing many people in the forests below to close their eyes.
The sword beam swept past, and the firebird let out a mournful cry, instantly split into two halves.
Carlotta didn't bother with the firebird's remains. She and Alia flew quickly toward the deepest part of the Sky Island.
No one knew what lay at the deepest core of the Sky Island. In the past, no one had the capability to venture deeper into the inner zones, because the further one went, the stronger the monsters beca, eventually reaching a point where Weaver-level monsters road everywhere like common beasts.
The monsters of the Sky Island seed endless, similar to the situation in the Tower of Babel.
Now Carlotta understood the reason behind this phenonon. Both the Tower of Babel and the Sky Island possessed unique properties, capable of automatically generating monsters.
Both could be considered special divine artifacts, possessing self-sustaining functions, far more mysterious and unpredictable than ordinary divine artifacts.
Although nurous, Weaver-level monsters couldn't stop Carlotta. She and Alia quickly flew deeper into the island.
