To many, this was nothing short of a divine battle.
The sky darkened, the sun and moon dimd, and the entire ocean was dyed a piercing shade of blood-red. Terrifying fluctuations make even breathing cautiously necessary.
In a brief mont, both the High Priestess and the Demigod of Destruction had exchanged blows repeatedly, leaving each other battered and drenched in blood.
The Demigod of Destruction stared intently at the High Priestess, his heart churning.
'Although I appear severely wounded, these are rely superficial. My insides are healing rapidly. I want to see how long she can hold on.'
Of course, the Demigod of Destruction had no idea that the High Priestess had fused with the broken divine artifact, Eternal Heart, granting her own healing ability to an extrely terrifying degree.
He himself could accelerate healing because within his faction of Outer Gods, one excelled in flesh regeneration, known as the Undying God. By rging a fragnt of that god's divine power, he had enhanced his current state.
But in his understanding, gods from these worlds didn't possess such abilities. Therefore, even if the High Priestess had fused with so divine soul, she absolutely couldn't achieve the sa result as him.
As for rging with a divine artifact... he didn't even know such a thod existed. After all, divine artifacts differ from souls, normally, they couldn't be safely integrated into a person.
In fact, achieving such a fusion requires an incredibly long ti. The High Priestess had once slept for ages because of this, a duration nearly incalculable.
"Boom!"
They clashed rapidly, trading wounds for wounds, fighting with their lives on the line. This kind of drastic combat shortened the battle's duration, making it even more ferocious and terrifying.
Carlotta was still trapped within the Demigod of Destruction's enormous palm. Unaware that a life-or-death struggle was already underway outside, she nevertheless sensed intense fluctuations in his aura, noticing his attention gradually shifting away from her.
"Letting act freely isn't necessarily a good thing."
Carlotta murmured softly.
Using her inner micro-world to withstand the surrounding pressure, she began unleashing techniques from various paths of transcendence, one after another, attacking the space inside the giant palm, shaking this area until it trembled precariously.
Under such conditions where she could attack freely, it wasn't long before a sudden enlightennt arose in Carlotta's heart, deepening her understanding of divinity.
Then, her attacks intensified even further, tearing the interior of the giant palm into a bloody ss, grueso and terrifying to hold.
Finally, Carlotta shrunk the coverage of her inner micro-world, now shielding only herself. Then, sword in hand, she thrust upward at the bloody, mangled flesh overhead, forcefully drilling through and slicing into the Demigod of Destruction's wrist. No matter how tough his skin and flesh were, they were now torn apart by sheer force.
The Demigod of Destruction, locked in mortal combat with the High Priestess, suddenly felt an odd, uncomfortable sensation from his other hand. Before he could inspect it, he felt his palm explode with a thunderous boom, the entire hand detaching and plunging into the sea.
From the broken remains, Carlotta's figure appeared.
The Demigod of Destruction's face darkened montarily, but then he shrugged it off. As long as he eliminated the High Priestess first, dealing with this red-haired girl wouldn't be difficult.
After fighting this long, even he, who could continuously regenerate, noticed his healing couldn't keep up with the rate of injury. He felt himself growing weaker, convinced the High Priestess must be near her limit. Just a little more effort, and he could definitely kill her.
Now, it was the final mont!
The Demigod of Destruction thrust a punch toward Carlotta from afar, unleashing a massive wave of destructive energy to block her advance. anwhile, he lunged at the High Priestess, both hands grabbing her macro-world and letting out a furious roar, forcibly tearing it apart.
He knew that those who walked the Path of Creation had inner worlds intimately linked to their beings. Even a projection of such a world, if seriously damaged, would inflict enormous harm on the user.
So this attack would surely overwhelm the High Priestess.
Of course, he wasn't unscathed either. As he ripped apart the projection of her micro-world, the High Priestess seized the opportunity to strike fiercely. Beams of world-divine light shot forth, piercing his body with countless holes, wounds that would kill anyone else instantly.
World Light was an offensive technique the High Priestess cultivated using the power of her inner world. Nurtured by the world's energy, these divine rays possessed a terrifying, world-destroying force when unleashed.
She had been conserving these World Lights, unwilling to use them slightly, until now, when she no longer held anything back.
Still, the destruction of her inner world caused the High Priestess to cough up large amounts of blood.
In this desperate struggle, both combatants suffered grave injuries, their conditions were extrely dire.
Even though the Demigod of Destruction possessed the divine power of the Undying God, allowing his body to heal rapidly, the damage was simply too thorough. He swayed unsteadily, unable to recover quickly.
He widened his eyes, staring at the High Priestess, finally sensing sothing unusual, how could she still endure?
At that mont, the High Priestess attacked with radiant light. Before her, a faint image of a divine artifact flickered into view: a golden heart, pulsing steadily, emanating astonishing divine radiation.
Bathed in this sacred glow, the High Priestess's wounds healed at a visible speed. Within re monts, her injuries were completely restored.
This was the effect of the High Priestess actively activating the Eternal Heart. If left passive, the Eternal Heart would still function to so degree, but not nearly as effective.
Witnessing this, the Demigod of Destruction's eyes nearly burst from their sockets. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, desperate to accept this outco.
"Eternal Heart... this divine artifact... why is it in your possession?"
His breathing grew ragged.
All his calculations, all his plans, now rendered utterly pale and aningless.
Had he, while calculating others, been calculating himself?
Just as the Demigod of Destruction, shaken by the High Priestess's revelation, lost his composure, Carlotta appeared behind him. In that instant of distraction, a colossal sword aura capable of cleaving the sky erupted violently, transforming into blinding light that tore through the Demigod of Destruction's massive upper body from behind!
"Urgh!"
The Demigod of Destruction scread in agony, completely unprepared for Carlotta's sudden appearance at his back.
The Demigod of Destruction couldn't understand Carlotta's sudden appearance. He had clearly launched a long-range attack against her earlier, which should have kept her isolated far away. How could she so suddenly appear behind him in such a short ti?
He was shocked, but now wasn't the mont for shock. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself upright, preparing to strike Carlotta. But in the next instant, his face turned deathly pale.
Because the High Priestess, having restored her full strength, now stood directly before him.
At that mont, he finally felt the threat of death. Not long ago, such a threat seed distant, but now it stood right before his eyes.
Almost instantly, the Demigod of Destruction violently withdrew, attempting to flee this place.
But the High Priestess had already anticipated his escape. Seeing this, she raised her hand, and a vast world descended, enveloping the Demigod of Destruction, creating a restraint from which he couldn't break free no matter how hard he struggled.
The projection of an inner world could be recreated no matter how many tis it was destroyed, since it was rely a projection. Destroying it only consud the magic power of the transcendent being.
Under the suppression of the projected world, the Demigod of Destruction felt as if trapped in mud, unable to break free. His movents beca exceptionally sluggish due to the severity of his injuries.
At that mont, Carlotta attacked again, wielding a colossal sword ford of condensed light, powerful enough to cleave the sky itself.
Upon closer inspection, one can see vast amounts of faith energy gathered within the giant light blade. This was clearly a massive sword Carlotta had forged from countless believers' faith, carrying the convictions of innurable followers, ready to unleash their collective will with her swing.
"Boom!"
Carlotta's sword descendant. Affected by the High Priestess's world, the Demigod of Destruction had no chance to dodge. He was split clean in two from head to toe by the sheer force of the blow.
The Demigod of Destruction's enormous body, torn apart, spilled copious blood and fragnts of organs, plumting toward the ocean.
Seeing this, the High Priestess pointed into the air. Her world projection instantly froze every scattered piece of flesh and blood.
Then she said, "The Demigod of Destruction won't die so easily. He must have absorbed the divine power of the Undying God. Therefore, we must burn every single piece of his flesh and blood, completely erasing this creature."
"I understand."
Carlotta raised her hand. The giant sword of faith instantly disintegrated, transforming into a torrent of divine flas raining down.
The divine flas swept through the High Priestess's small world, igniting the Demigod of Destruction's scattered flesh and organs. Sizzling sounds fill the air without end.
At this point, the High Priestess didn't hesitate to expend energy, sending out wave after wave of world light to grind away the Demigod's flesh fragnts and blood.
Under their relentless assault, destructive energy in the void transford into a distorted face, the Demigod of Destruction scread in agony and cursed the two won.
"So this is what he truly looks like? How hideous."
Carlotta comnted without restraint.
The face ford from destructive energy no longer resembled the appearance of the God of Eternal Darkness. Instead, it belonged to a creature with horns on its forehead and an extra eye in the center. Its left eye was purple, the right eye green, and the forehead eye red, an extrely bizarre and grotesque form. This was the true appearance of the Outer Demon.
After her disdainful remark, Carlotta sent the divine flas surging forward, burning away even this face ford from destructive energy.
Under their joint control, the Demigod of Destruction had no chance of leaving behind even the slightest remnant. Every speck of flesh and drop of blood was located and rcilessly crushed.
In the end, the Demigod of Destruction left nothing behind. Everything was cleaned away completely.
All of this unfolded before the many eyes watching from Starlight port.
"Has that terrifying being finally defeated?"
"Incredible! I never imagined that within my lifeti, I could witness such an intense, high-level battle. I never thought a transcendent being could be this powerful."
"Indeed, it's astonishing, beyond anything I ever imagined. I wonder just how high Lady Carlotta has ascended."
"She's not just an Exalted anymore, is she? So powerful."
"The woman who fought alongside Lady Carlotta is also incredibly strong. I've heard rumors, she's supposedly a powerful Exalted from another world, but she must be far beyond that."
"Another world? Then was that enemy also from another world?"
Starlight port erupted into excitent as the battle concluded. Countless people discussed it passionately, eyes shining with awe. They were deeply shaken by what they had witnessed, an event that will forever remain unerasable from their mories.
After completely eliminating the Demigod of Destruction, Carlotta went to call Alia, who had been watching from afar, then withdrew the scene together with the High Priestess.
Deep in the ocean, the sea remained a brilliant blue. Green plants flourished on the islands, birds sang, and flowers blood.
Carlotta sat on a seaside rock, watching the flow of the tide, reflecting on the sensations from the previous battle. Such an unprecedented high-level fight had granted her astonishing insights. She slowly processed these feelings. Once fully absorbed, her strength will undoubtedly ascend another level.
The High Priestess was also digesting the battle. The fierce fight had awakened so of her long-sealed mories. Forgotten events began resurfacing, deepening the gaze in her eyes.
After a long while, night fell.
Carlotta glanced at the information panel that popped up. The displayed ssages all related to her reputation across the Northern Continent.
News of her joint battle with the High Priestess against the Demigod of Destruction had spread like wildfire across the Northern Continent. The intelligence specifically ntioned is widely discussed about her across various regions.
Clearly, Carlotta had once again beco famous. Combined with her past exploits, her reputation had, within a short ti, surpassed that of the veteran human powerhouse Elora Thorne, making her the acknowledged strongest in the Wendell Empire.
Beyond the empire, many also considered Carlotta as the strongest on the entire Northern Continent.
All of this was earned through her own battles.
After so ti, the High Priestess approached Carlotta and said, "I want to see the Sky Island."
"The Sky Island? I don't know where it is."
Carlotta shook her head. "The existence of the Sky Island is always random. There's no way to actively seek it out."
