"There really is a Wind God Stone!"
Carlotta’s spirits lifted.
She had been thinking that even if there might be Wind God Stone in the mine, she couldn’t stay to mine it slowly and might miss it. But now, the Wind God Stone appeared before her eyes.
She took the Wind God Stone from Alia, her heart pounding. This Wind God Stone was of great significance to her.
When making cards, Wind Speed Stone is often used... These can be replaced with Wind Demon Stone or even Wind God Stone to achieve better effects.
For example, a carriage card with Wind God Stone would have a terrifying speed.
However, compared to that, Carlotta wanted to use this Wind God Stone for another type of card.
It was a card called the Speed Card, which acts on oneself, allowing one to move faster for a certain period, perfect for combat.
The Speed Card was different from the Lightness Card. Although the Lightness Card could make one stronger, indirectly increasing speed, its essence was to make one lighter, mostly used for carrying heavy objects.
Speed Card, on the other hand, truly enhanced one’s movent speed.
If she used this Wind God Stone to make a Speed Card, how fast would she be? In combat, could her opponents even catch her movents?
Carlotta was very excited, but also a bit regretful, as she couldn’t make the Speed Card yet. It was a card that only at least a ninth-tier apprentice could make.
For now, she could only keep the Speed Card.
"Let’s go."
The three had no intention of staying. Victor and the other would surely return after not finding anyone for a while, so they had to leave.
They ran along the valley path for a while and, as expected, saw so tents blocking the middle of the valley.
Carlotta said, "The yer Adventure Group stationed two Listeners at both ends to mine Wind Demon Stone. This side should be their middle tier Listener, nad Matteo Rosen, who practices air magic."
Alia was surprised, "You know so much about this guy?"
Carlotta smiled slightly, "Back in Pine Town, didn’t we hear a lot about the adventure groups? I rembered it all."
Then Carlotta got serious, asking Alia if she could handle this middle tier Listener.
They obviously couldn’t leave silently. If she had made the Speed Card, she could have just run past, confident that a middle tier Listener couldn’t catch her.
But now, they had to face him head-on.
She was confident against an early Listener, but a middle tier Listener was a different story.
However, she wasn’t alone. Mia was just a normal ninth-tier apprentice, not to be considered, but Alia was obviously not a normal ninth-tier apprentice and could fight a Listener.
With the two of them plus the Moonlight, which could still be sowhat useful, couldn’t they handle a middle tier listener?
Alia also calculated their and the Moonlight’s fighting power in her heart and concluded: "We can fight. Let’s go straight in. Mia, you handle the apprentices other than the Listener."
"I... I understand."
Mia felt her neck chill, thinking these two were too bold, still apprentices yet daring to take on a middle tier Listener.
Although they had defeated an early tier listener before, that one was severely injured.
Now, they were facing a full-powered middle tier Listener!
Mia didn’t know why the two were so confident. She was truly scared to death.
The night was vast and boundless.
The crimson moon was unusually large, illuminating Sky Island and casting an air of mystery over the entire expanse of the island.
Carlotta and the other two gazed at the distant tent, where shadowy figures flickered, exuding a sense of danger.
"I’ll handle the close combat."
Carlotta, holding the Rose Cross, walked forward.
Alia took a deep breath, her eyes fixed on the tent, ready to unleash her thunderous strike at any mont.
Mia’s legs were trembling, she was truly scared, after all, they were about to face a middle tier listener at their peak.
"What are you worried about? You still need to handle the others for us; you can’t back out now."
Alia issued a warning.
Bound by the soldier roster, Mia uncontrollably quickened her pace and moved forward.
But she was truly panicked and suggested, "Miss, maybe we should try to climb the cliff and escape."
Alia was montarily speechless; the rocks of this valley were extrely steep. Without the ability to fly, climbing would be perilous, and one misstep could lead to a fall.
"What is there to worry about? Any one of us can handle an early tier listener, and together, we can manage a middle tier listener as well."
Alia said.
"But..."
"No buts. Go and do what you need to do."
Alia’s voice turned cold suddenly, as people began to erge from the tent ahead.
"Yes!"
Mia didn’t dare to say more and quickly followed Carlotta’s steps.
Seven people erged from the tent.
Among them was a middle-aged man with stubble, reeking slightly of alcohol, as if he had been drinking and making rry not long ago. He was one of the Deputy leaders of the yer Adventurer Group, Matteo Rosen, a middle tier Listener.
"Who are you?"
Seeing the appearance of Carlotta and the other two, Matteo sobered up a bit, looking over with uncertainty.
Because the direction from which the three had co was unusual. If they had co from the other side, he would have assud they were just passing through the valley and wouldn’t have thought much of it. But how did these three co from the direction of the Windstone Mine?
Carlotta said indifferently, "Victor has already been killed by us, and you’re next. Your yer Adventurer Group is nothing special."
She was bluffing, trying to see if she could intimidate Matteo.
Matteo was indeed shaken, because the direction from which Carlotta and the others had co was too unusual, that was the location of the Windstone Mine, where Victor, a peak Listener, was stationed.
Having been here all along, he had no idea what had happened on the other side. Now, seeing three strangers approach and claim to have killed Victor, a chill ran down his spine.
"You, take action, assess the situation."
Matteo imdiately spoke to the people beside him, instructing them to test the waters.
Carlotta and the others hadn’t made a move yet; there was no fluctuation of magic, so Matteo couldn’t tell what level they were at.
The people ordered by Matteo all changed expressions. Matteo had been intimidated by Carlotta’s words, and so were they, equally startled and unwilling to act.
But under Matteo’s orders, they didn’t dare to do anything.
One who followed the path of magic made the first move, waving his hand to summon wind blades in the void, slashing towards Carlotta.
The one who acted was an eighth-tier apprentice.
This didn’t require Carlotta to act; Mia imdiately took action, and a strong fluctuation appeared in the void, violently shaking and dispersing the incoming wind blades.
"This is a ninth-tier apprentice..."
Matteo frowned, because he noticed that Mia appeared submissive, clearly taking orders from the other two.
If soone who needed to take orders was already a ninth-tier apprentice, one could imagine the strength of the other two.
Watching Carlotta approach step by step, beads of sweat began to form on Matteo’s forehead, and he sobered up completely.
He was a cautious man, not willing to gamble at all, and imdiately withdrew.
The rest of the yer Adventurer Group, seeing Matteo do this, also quickly followed suit, not daring to confront.
This left Carlotta and Alia montarily stunned, their expressions slightly subtle.
Was this... intimidation?
Just because they had co from the direction of the Windstone Mine, they scared Matteo and the others?
"You..."
Carlotta wanted to say sothing more, but Matteo began to retreat, and he kept retreating, quickly disappearing from Carlotta and Alia’s sight.
Was this really possible?
After a mont of surprise, Carlotta found it both amusing and surprising. She had prepared for a big battle, but the opponent had chickened out.
But this wasn’t a bad thing; Avoiding a big fight was better, as Victor could return at any mont, and then the trouble would be significant.
"Quite unexpected."
Alia murmured, but she was considerably more relaxed.
Mia also hadn’t expected that they could scare away a middle tier Listener, and this ti her legs didn’t feel weak anymore.
She couldn’t help but whisper, "Middle tier Listeners... don’t seem that impressive..."
The three of them quickly move forward, reaching the end of the valley without encountering Matteo and the others again.
Outside the valley was a dense forest, and they plunged into it, heading further away.
anwhile, Matteo and the others were hidden in the shadows, watching as Carlotta and the others leave, only then turning back to enter the valley and quickly reaching the Windstone Mine.
Just as he arrived at the Windstone Mine, Victor, who hadn’t found anyone in the other direction, also returned.
"You’re not dead?"
Upon seeing Victor, Matteo instinctively asked.
Then his expression changed, realizing he had been deceived.
Victor, seeing the Windstone Mine that had been plundered, imdiately knew that the targets they had been desperately searching for had been here. He didn’t know how those few had managed to bypass him and reach the rear, but at least they now had a lead on the target.
Hearing Matteo’s words, Victor imdiately asked, "What do you an by that? Why did you think I was dead?"
Matteo’s expression was extrely grim as he explained what had happened earlier.
Upon hearing Matteo’s account, Victor was so angry he nearly exploded, shouting, "You just believe whatever soone told you? Didn’t you think to test them first? Those guys are all just apprentices! You actually got scared off by a bunch of apprentices?"
He was nearly roaring, spittle flying towards Matteo’s face.
Matteo kept a stern face and didn’t dare to return, but he also felt a bit of resentnt, thinking that if Victor hadn’t let people co to the rear, he wouldn’t have misunderstood. In this matter, Victor also bore a significant responsibility.
Victor wanted to curse a few more tis, but he held back because now was not the ti for more words.
"Hurry up and chase them!"
He led his people and quickly gave chase.
