Sinclair Apothecary’s entrance.

The elderly doctor sat at the entrance fanning himself with a palm fan.

For every passing vehicle, he would glance multiple tis until he saw a familiar license plate, and his gaze fixed straight onto the car window.

Claire Prescott sat in the back seat, looking at him through the car window, feeling a bit hesitant to get out.

Yet.

The man next to her reached out to open the car door, and she quickly stopped him, pretending to be calm as she said, "It’s fine to drop off here, I’ll get out by myself."

Keane Lowell captured the worry in her eyes, speaking gently, "Your grandfather said I should personally bring you back to see him at Sinclair Apothecary. It wouldn’t be good to stand him up."

This morning, her phone was left on the downstairs sofa, ringing continuously from eight-thirty, first from Tiger, and then from the elderly doctor.

The elderly doctor was concerned, as it was a significant issue for his granddaughter.

He ultimately used his phone to find the elderly doctor’s number and called him...

He held the young girl’s hand in reassurance, intending to comfort her.

The young girl suddenly held his hand, and with a serious expression, asked him, "I don’t look odd now, do I? Is there any mark on my neck?"

Her clean, bright eyes were both panicked and cautious, as if she didn’t want the elderly doctor to catch any fault.

Perhaps it was like she once told him, worried about losing face in front of the elderly doctor.

Keane’s eyes flickered with a hint of amusent, lifting her chin to take a look, murmuring, "Did I kiss here last night?"

Last night, he purposely avoided kissing her neck. Even if he had kissed, it was not heavy, mostly lingering on her collarbone, to avoid being spotted at work the next day and becoming a laughingstock.

Claire’s face flushed instantly.

Reflecting back, it seed he didn’t really kiss her neck. Mostly, it was his tall nose that brushed by, or just his lips lightly gliding past.

She instinctively thought of her neck because the kiss mark on her collarbone was quite apparent, leaving a deep impression.

She straightened her head.

Suddenly, she noticed the elderly doctor standing up from his stool.

Seeing him about to walk over, she stopped hesitating and honestly opened the car door.

Yet, upon getting out of the car, she collided directly with her grandfather’s deep eyes.

Her steps faltered for a mont, and as Keane ca to her side, she proactively took his hand, leading him toward the elderly doctor.

The elderly doctor’s expression changed.

Claire could naturally understand; the elderly doctor disapproved, likely disdaining her lack of modesty.

"Grandpa, have you had lunch yet?" She tried her best to act like she usually did when greeting him, with a hint of coaxing in her tone.

The elderly doctor’s expression softened slightly, as if slowly accepting the fact that his granddaughter had been wooed away by another.

His gaze shifted from their clasped hands, stating in a deep voice, "At this ti of day, who hasn’t had lunch?"

Soon after, the elderly doctor noticed the injury on Keane’s lips as he looked at him.

The injury was too suggestive, too noticeable, hard not to attract attention.

Keane politely addressed him, "Elder Sinclair."

The elderly doctor nodded solemnly, saying slowly, "If there’s nothing else, you each have your things to do, go ahead."

His tone didn’t carry any dislike toward Keane, just a hint of helplessness.

He had called Keane over just to confirm the authenticity of the call, worried his granddaughter might be coerced or bullied by an outsider.

Now seeing that his granddaughter was with him, he didn’t interfere, unlike other parents who would confront their daughter’s boyfriend or put him to the test.

All of it was because he believed his granddaughter was clever, not easily fooled, and any young man who caught her eye wouldn’t be too bad.

At least for now, from appearance and temperant alone, he matched well with his granddaughter.

But he had a pair of flirtatious eyes, looking good wasn’t necessarily an advantage, as they easily attracted other girls’ attention.

Seeing the elderly doctor turn and clasp his hands behind his back as he returned to his clinic, Claire was montarily stunned.

Gradually, she understood sothing.

She smiled sweetly at Keane, lowering her voice to say, "Did you see just now? It seems like my grandpa doesn’t oppose us being together."

Her eyes were especially bright, filled with a hint of infatuation, her smile uncontainably blossoming at the corners of her mouth.

This might be her way of showing affection for soone.

Keane, illuminated by her smile, felt his whole being lighten a bit, like her, asking with a smile, "And this was what you were worried about?"

"Yes." Claire nodded.

And just then, Keane’s phone chid inappropriately.

He took out the phone from his pocket, not even checking to see who the caller was, and decisively hung up.

Claire restrained her smile, saying, "If you have sothing to do, go ahead. I should get ready for work too."

Keane reached out to touch her cheek, feeling her warmth rising, still as sensitive and alluring.

He reminded, "Rember to tell your grandpa about the moving plans, I’ll co to pick you up later."

"I’ll talk about the moving plans later. I won’t be going to your place tonight, no need to go through the trouble to pick up." Under his gentle gaze, Claire’s voice unconsciously beca obedient.

"What plans for tonight?"

"Going for dinner with my best friend."

Keane’s eyes darkened slightly.

Honestly, he wasn’t fond of her being so close with Zara Leighton.

When they first t, the two were involved in a brawl outside the school.

When he went to see her class teacher, he was repeatedly advised to reduce contact with people from the neighboring school, including Zara Leighton’s na.

Moreover, on two subsequent encounters, it was Zara who was leading her astray, taking her to places she shouldn’t go, indulging in activities not suited for them.

Nonetheless, he didn’t say much, just responded with, "Okay."

Yet.

As he turned to leave, Claire watched his tall, handso figure, her feet moved involuntarily to follow him.

Keane turned around, looking at her appearing in front of him, "What’s wrong?"

Claire’s gaze lingered openly on the man’s refined features, her hands reached up to his waist, standing on tiptoe to gently kiss his cheek, "Thanks for bringing back."

Her eyelashes were distinct and curled.

As if a feather brushed lightly against his heart, causing a slight itch.

Keane pulled her close, unable to resist the urge to kiss her back.

Yet the girl buried her head to avoid him, "Your wound will worsen if you do, you said I was the only one allowed to kiss you."

"When did I say that?"

The man lowered his head, about to kiss her.

At that mont, a passerby approached, and Claire shyly hid in his embrace.

Yet, the next mont, Keane scooped her up horizontally.

Once inside the car, as Keane spoke in his deep voice, "Get out."

The driver quickly opened the door and stepped out, waiting outside.

"You..."
