She smiled but said nothing.

The atmosphere returned to its initial relaxed and carefree state.

Claire Prescott’s appetite kicked in, and she accidentally overate.

Keane Lowell suddenly asked, "What’s troubling you?"

"Family matters," she said vaguely.

She didn’t want to divulge the specifics.

No matter who it was, her background was sothing she had never even shared with her best friends.

Whenever it involved anything related to the Prescott Family, she subconsciously wanted to avoid it.

She changed the topic, "President Lowell, my stomach feels a bit stuffed. Can you accompany for a walk?"

Seeing her reluctance to express herself, Keane stopped probing and didn’t press further.

Subsequently, he accompanied her downstairs.

As they passed by the hotel entrance.

Claire Prescott realized the site of the confession had been cleaned thoroughly, without a trace of romance left, not even a petal or a light.

Not a single obstructive thing in sight.

She no longer concerned herself with the drama, leading the way with a flashlight, when a thought suddenly flashed in her mind, causing her pace to slow.

She waited for him to catch up, intentionally matching his footsteps, making sure even her left foot stepped out first, walking side by side with him.

Their figures blended into the night.

The night breeze was gentle, carrying a refreshing purity from the mountains.

At so mont, she tentatively hooked his hand, gradually intertwining their fingers, and after succeeding, she cautiously lifted her eyes to observe his expression, asking, "Is this alright?"

Unexpectedly, the man intertwined his fingers with hers, silently answering her question through action.

"Whenever you want to hold my hand, it’s okay."

Claire Prescott blushed and turned her face away.

Squeezing his hand slightly, as if trying to convey sothing.

Yet, holding hands seed unable to quench her yearning for him; she wanted to take it a step further.

"President Lowell," Claire Prescott called him softly.

Her voice, under the silent night sky, sounded particularly intimate.

However, just as she was about to say sothing, she suddenly heard soone shout, "teor! There’s a teor!"

The excited voice pierced through the sky.

Claire Prescott was imdiately entranced, lifting her eyes to gaze at the starry sky.

She saw strands of silvery light streak across the sky, tracing beautiful trajectories under the night veil.

In the distance, the crowd was stirring, devoutly welcoming the rare teor shower.

Claire Prescott shook the man’s arm, exclaiming excitedly, "There’s really a teor shower!"

Keane Lowell looked at her with gentle eyes.

anwhile, she let go of his hand, clasped her hands together, raised her graceful face, and furrowed and unfurrowed her brows, seemingly contemplating what wish to make.

Every subtle expression was pure, exuding an understated elegance.

After a few monts.

When she opened her eyes, Keane Lowell called out, "Claire."

The young woman looked at him, puzzled.

He continued to ask, "Why pretend not to know ?"

As soon as the words left his lips.

Claire Prescott’s expression froze, the light in her eyes gradually sinking as a long-buried mory surfaced in her mind, becoming increasingly clear.

Ti instantly rewound to that midsumr night...

She was out having dinner with Zara Leighton and others.

She couldn’t rember who initiated it, but they started playing truth or dare.

At first, she thought the ga was dull, but not wanting to dampen their spirits, she joined in as a companion.

Unexpectedly, the first spin of the bottle pointed at her.

She lost.

For so reason, everyone got excited, urging her to draw a penalty card from a pile.

She ended up drawing a dare card.

Soone couldn’t help taking the card from her hand, loudly reading, "Choose one of the opposite gender present and kiss for five seconds."

Everyone watched her with implicit aning.

Seeing she hadn’t reacted for a while, soone urged, "Claire, we have to take our loss like champs."

Zara Leighton defended her, "Our school’s students aren’t allowed to date early, don’t make it hard for my friend."

"Alright then, let’s go easy this round. But if Claire gets picked next ti, we’ll go through with the penalty, alright?"

Knowing they loved challenges, especially seeing good students behaving badly.

However.

She couldn’t believe her luck was that bad.

In the next round, she spun the bottle facing herself.

No escape this ti.

Tangled up inside, she calmly scanned the surroundings, her gaze landing on a man who had just erged from a car.

He stood in the shadows, dressed sharply in a crisp shirt and trousers, his eyes deep and mysterious in the dim light.

At that mont, she didn’t know where the courage ca from, standing up in front of everyone and walking straight toward him.

Her first words were, "I need your help."

Keane Lowell looked at her with interest, glancing at the students at the table ahead, "How much do you want to spend hiring this ti?"

She was straightforward, "How much do you want?"

The man quietly observed her, showing a number "1" on his fingers.

"One hundred?"

Keane Lowell corrected, "One." (Referring to one dollar)

Surprised, she quickly retrieved a dollar from her pocket and handed it to him.

Perhaps surprised that she actually had a dollar, Keane Lowell took the bill, smilingly asking, "How should I help?"

"I lost a ga just now and need to find soone of the opposite sex to kiss, for five seconds."

Keane Lowell’s expression gradually beca serious, staring at her innocent face, "So you chose ?"

Claire Prescott nodded lightly, "Yes."

"You sure have nerve." He bit out the words, his expression dark.

Claire Prescott imdiately sensed sothing wrong, "You took my money, you wouldn’t be thinking of backing out, would you?"

Keane Lowell frowned, "Are you of age? Playing such gas?"

Claire Prescott’s expression transford, "Forget it if you won’t help."

Just as she was about to retrieve the bill, he stepped aside, not letting her succeed.

Raising her gaze, she t his deep, ink-colored eyes.

"You can kiss , but only after you co of age."

Claire Prescott protested, "I only approached you because I lost the ga, who wants to kiss you."

"And yet you ca to ." Keane Lowell pocketed the bill, then tugged her sleeve, leading her to the students’ table.

Finally, in front of everyone, he confiscated their cards...

Afterward, for over six years, he didn’t appear before her.

She assud it was her request that scared him off or perhaps he had soone he liked, unwilling to fulfill that dollar’s promise.

She regretted having him complete the ga task, which led to the awkward situation now.

Not daring to recognize him when they reunited, was because she didn’t want him to kiss her just because of the ga. What she wanted was for him to like her before he could kiss her.

Upon rembering this.

Claire Prescott looked at him, responding, "Back then, I was young and reckless, did sothing foolish."

Her voice grew softer, "Regretted it, so I didn’t dare acknowledge you."

Keane Lowell asked, "What do you regret?"
