Capturing the Young Doctor's Heart: Mr. Big Shot Won't Let Me Go Chapter 167: Want to Know Everything About You
However.
Not long after her grandmother had returned to the bedroom, Keane Lowell’s call ca through.
"Wait for a mont, I’ll be right out." With just that brief sentence, Claire Prescott hung up the phone.
Calming her restless heart, she turned off the lights and closed the doors, then walked through the courtyard toward the side gate.
As the door opened, she indeed saw his figure.
A quick glance.
Claire Prescott instinctively turned around to lock the door, then rushed into his arms, just as Keane Lowell’s arms slowly wrapped around her, embracing her slight and light fra, and kissed her on the forehead.
"Grandma just ntioned you, and I didn’t expect you to show up so soon." Claire’s clear voice echoed in the quiet alley.
"What did she say?" Keane asked.
"My grandma wants to invite you over for dinner."
Claire Prescott looked up with a smile, eting his gaze, "Busy man, when are you free? You haven’t replied to about accompanying back to school for the anniversary."
Only then did she realize.
The man had deep, dark eyes, gently concealing an inexplicable emotion beneath their warmth.
He was dressed all in black, a shirt and trousers, which made his aura particularly intense.
Keane Lowell asked softly, "When’s the anniversary?"
"..." Apparently, he hadn’t listened to her call. She patiently said, "September 5th."
"Alright."
"Then it’s settled, don’t ditch ."
Keane Lowell smiled faintly, "When have I ever ditched you?"
"Who knows, you’ve been so busy lately." Claire Prescott asked again, "What about coming over for dinner?"
"The sa day."
"Alright."
After finalizing this, Keane Lowell held her tenderly for a while, then led her to the back seat of the car.
Claire Prescott leaned diagonally against his shoulder, and as the car drove out of the alley, Keane Lowell asked, "Do you know Jay Smith?"
Upon hearing this.
Claire Prescott straightened up and gave him a suspicious glance.
Not understanding why he suddenly asked, but she quickly responded, "Unless it’s soone with the sa na, I do know a Jay Smith from the sa grade, a student from the neighboring school, Number Seven High."
He was also Zara’s classmate.
Why she rembered him was because she was quite vengeful; anyone who had hard her, she rembered their nas.
She imdiately asked, "Are you talking about this person?"
Keane nodded.
"What about him?"
The man was silent for a mont, then simply replied, "Nothing."
"..."
Stopping mid-sentence was too annoying, and Claire Prescott couldn’t do much about him for a mont.
Jay Smith, who looked decent, always whistled at her or looked at her with an extrely greasy expression whenever he saw her.
She had sensed that this person had ill intentions toward her.
Initially, she didn’t take him seriously.
Later, one day he cornered her on her way ho, spat disgusting words at her, and even tried to force a kiss on her, so she slapped him and walked away straightly.
The next ti she heard his na was when she was called into the dean’s office.
Chase Chambers had beaten him outside the school, hearing that Jay Smith was spreading obscene rumors about her, and couldn’t stand it anymore.
The first ti the horoom teacher misunderstood her for dating, she didn’t even know who Chase Chambers was, because the teacher had seen him in class and heard the gossip among students, so she was called over for a warning.
The second ti was because of this beating incident, feeling that Chase Chambers’ chivalrous act was too much.
The incident was quite serious.
Jay Smith was sent to the hospital, and his mom, with an overbearing attitude, caused a scene at the school’s dean’s office. Back then, Jay Smith’s head was all bandaged up, with only one eye exposed, and if not for his na being ntioned, it would have been hard to recognize him.
Afraid that the parents inside might have a stress reaction, the horoom teacher protected her, leaving her alone inside. There were quite a few people in the dean’s office: Chase Chambers, Jay Smith, and their parents were all inside, having their conversation behind closed doors.
What they said inside was unclear, and how things were resolved peacefully was also unknown.
She rembered that when she ca out of the dean’s office, Jay Smith’s mom turned around and humbly apologized to Chase Chambers’s side.
She also rembered that Chase Chambers’s mom gave her a cold glare, her aura was not one to be trifled with.
She didn’t know what kind of background Chase Chambers had to be able to so easily turn things around, but she didn’t think much of it then. When Jay Smith walked past her, she took the chance to trip him.
Everyone watched him fall flat on his face, and no one noticed her foot’s movents, and he dared not do anything about her.
Later, she was called to the teacher’s office and was asked to bring her parents, and that’s when she t Keane Lowell...
At this mont.
For Keane Lowell to suddenly ntion the na "Jay Smith", it was clearly not as simple as "nothing".
The car interior was dim, the man almost entirely enveloped in shadow.
Only then did she notice that two buttons on his shirt were open, whereas he usually buttoned it up to the top.
Her hand slid down naturally, and when it t his, she felt sothing unusual on the back of his hand.
Claire Prescott looked down, raising his hand closer to look. It was a wound, and she voiced her concern, "You’re hurt."
Keane Lowell didn’t mind, turning his hand to hold hers, "It’s nothing."
Claire Prescott’s brows knitted tightly, asking him, "How did you get hurt?"
"Accidentally scratched it." Keane Lowell deftly diverted her attention, "Help put so ointnt on it when we get back."
The wound wasn’t just in one place; it looked more like scratch marks, not yet scabbed over.
Claire Prescott stared at his sharp profile, plainly said, "There’s sothing off about you."
The man replied with a grunt.
Claire Prescott montarily fell silent.
Then, her seatbelt was unbuckled, and the man’s astonishing strength pulled her over, softly instructing the driver, "Drive slower."
The car’s speed gradually slowed down.
Claire Prescott instinctively hooked onto him, sitting steadily on his lap, observing his face up close, feeling sowhat confused.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Keane Lowell t her gaze and asked, "Were you often bullied before?"
Claire Prescott shook her head, "Not really."
"How did the scars on your back co about?"
Claire’s expression faltered, not understanding why he was asking, "Didn’t I tell you before?"
"Do you think you can fool that easily, Claire Prescott?"
Him addressing her with her full na made her uncomfortable listening to it, made her a bit guilty, even a little afraid to look at him.
Being cornered and attacked was such a shaful thing that she found it really hard to talk about.
Moreover...
"It’s all in the past, no need to bring it up again, right?"
"I want to know everything about you."
The two fell into a standoff.
Keane Lowell gazed at her fixedly, unwilling to back down.
Claire Prescott, helpless, bargained with him, saying, "Then you first tell , why did you suddenly ask if I know Jay Smith, and why did you get hurt?"
