The old Chinese dicine doctor said with concern, "The child smokes, try persuading him more to quit smoking."

"I’ve tried." Claire Prescott replied calmly, silently picking up a piece of at to eat, not wanting to dwell on the topic of Finn Prescott anymore.

She’s advised him to quit smoking more than five tis.

But he never listened. Every ti she got close to him, she could sll a faint tobacco scent on him.

Perhaps his future wife could persuade him.

The old Chinese dicine doctor looked up at Chase Chambers. From the mont he saw him this morning, he could guess his identity.

His chest was upright; no matter whether he was standing or sitting, his posture was particularly upright, and his gaze was firm, full of integrity.

Now, while eating with them, although not wolfing down the food, he intentionally slowed down his eating.

But when he looked at his granddaughter, his expression changed slightly, softening a bit.

The old Chinese dicine doctor asked, "Are you still studying, or are you already working in the military?"

Chase responded, "I’m in the army now. I got a few days off the other day to co back and see my family."

The old Chinese dicine doctor looked at him with a bit more admiration, "Not bad. The predecessors built a country that is now in the annals of history, and the new generation is spirited, protecting the country and carrying on the legacy."

The words were particularly righteous, and the dining atmosphere beca more solemn.

Chase straightened his back even more, his gaze more dignified, "It’s what we should do."

Realized sothing was wrong.

The old Chinese dicine doctor restrained a bit, "Now that you’re ho, relax and enjoy yourself."

After that, there were no more words.

After lunch.

The old Chinese dicine doctor went to rest.

Septima also went to the kitchen to get busy.

Claire Prescott took the guest to the courtyard and brewed a pot of jasmine tea.

Under the shade of the trees, occasionally a breeze would pass by, and the dense crepe myrtle flowers would spread a faint fragrance, making the courtyard exceptionally serene and elegant.

In the silence.

The phone rang.

Claire looked at the phone.

It was a call from Keane Lowell.

She put down the teapot and said to him, "I’ll take a call first."

Chase nodded, watching her walk to the other side under the dappled tree shadows, vaguely hearing her sweet and charmingly call, "President Lowell."

The tone was naturally enchanting.

In the past, he had never heard her use such a tone to address soone.

He lowered his gaze and patiently waited for her to finish the call.

Claire’s gaze fell on the trunk, and the corners of her mouth involuntarily curved into a small smile. Her tone couldn’t help but beco gentler as she spoke.

On the other end, Keane asked warmly, "There’s a charity event tonight. Do you want to co with ?"

Claire hesitated for a mont, then replied, "I don’t really want to go. But I can pick you up."

"No need to pick up, just wait for at ho. I’ll just be there for a while and then co back."

Claire nodded, "Then I’ll wait for you at ho. Drink less alcohol."

"Okay, wait for to co back."

By "ho," she naturally ant Azure Court.

This understanding had long been reached in their daily interactions.

After hanging up the phone.

Claire turned around only to et that resolute and deep gaze; the slight sweetness at the corner of her mouth gradually disappeared, returning to her usual elegant deanor.

Chase observed the change in her expression.

Earlier, he could only see her back. Even though he couldn’t see her expression or hear what she said, her posture was extraordinarily relaxed and leisurely.

It was obvious that the call was likely from soone she loved.

Claire walked over to him, sat down calmly across from him, and poured him a cup of tea, "This tea was made by my grandmother with jasmine flowers. I find it quite tasty, give it a try."

"Your taste has always been quite discerning. If you find it tasty, then it must be good."

Claire was indifferent, "Everyone has different tastes."

Chase took a sip.

The floral tea taste was particularly strong between his lips and teeth.

However, having been in the army, he was used to roughness and couldn’t quite adapt to such refinent, so he simply comnted, "It’s good."

Claire asked him, "Haven’t been back ho all these years?"

"No."

"How long will you stay this ti?"

"A twenty-day leave."

As soon as he finished speaking.

Septima ca out with a bag of dicinal herbs, placed it next to Chase, and reminded him to rember to take it back, worriedly asking, "You know how to prepare it, right?"

"I know, Grandma, don’t worry."

Septima glanced at his skin condition, "The rash hasn’t gone away yet. You need to soak for the next couple of days. I don’t know what you’re allergic to, so I packed a bit extra, just in case."

"Okay, thank you, Grandma."

"You’re welco, you all chat."

Septima said her final words and went back inside.

Chase’s gaze unintentionally fell on the parrot in the cage.

"What are you looking at?" ca a childish voice, and Little Seven turned its head, using its tail to face him.

Claire explained, "It’s afraid of strangers."

Chase laughed, "It’s quite spirited."

"My grandmother often takes it out to et people. In crowded places, it gets so scared that it sticks close to my grandma’s pants, not daring to move, and still hasn’t gotten used to it."

"Did your grandmother teach it to talk?"

"Yes, but now she doesn’t teach it much. It learns on its own by listening."

"How long have you had it?"

Claire counted the ti, "Probably about four years. A pet is good company for my grandma, who is ho alone."

After saying that, she covered her mouth and yawned.

Seeing this, Chase didn’t continue to disturb her, "You still have to work in the afternoon, so I won’t interrupt your rest."

Claire replied politely, "Sorry, I didn’t sleep well last night. Let’s catch up when we have more ti."

"Is your phone number and WeChat still the sa?"

"Yes, I haven’t changed the number." Claire stood up, took the bag of dicinal herbs in her hand, and after sending him to the door, reminded him, "Stick to a light diet for the next couple of days, let the dicinal water cool naturally before soaking, don’t be impatient and mix in cold water."

"Okay, thank you for today."

Chase took the dicine from her hand, opened the driver’s side door, and sat down, glancing nostalgically at the person outside the car window, his dark eyes filled with unspoken emotions.

Here, one could naturally feel a sense of warmth.

Both the people and things were so beautiful that it made him reluctant to leave.

He collected his thoughts and drove away.

...

After having dinner at ho, Claire Prescott went to Azure Court.

At nine in the evening, Auntie Susan left early due to other matters, and Keane Lowell hadn’t returned yet, leaving her alone in the entire villa.

She sat idly on the sofa in the living room.

Thinking for a bit.

She took several snack bags upstairs to the movie room, prepared drinks and water, and found a cody movie to relax.

Although being a surround sound imrsive experience, it was a cody she couldn’t get into - her eyelids grew heavier and she simply leaned back on the sofa and closed her eyes for a mont.

Just for that mont, she fell into a dream.
