Azure Court.

In the dim living room, two blurred figures overlapped, a warm breath wafting through the air.

Keane Lowell casually tapped her phone on the coffee table, looking towards that unclear face in the dim light. Although the phone call disturbed them, he quickly regained his composure.

Claire Prescott asked, "Whose call was it?"

"Don’t know."

Not giving her a chance to lose focus, Keane once again blocked her lips, murmuring, "Focus."

....

The next day.

Claire Prescott took that stack of proposals back to Sinclair Apothecary and glanced through them during her free ti.

After so consideration.

She felt that if her grandfather were to participate, these programs would be very suitable, but she wasn’t sure if Old Dr. Sinclair wanted to go.

So.

During lunch, she tentatively asked a few questions.

Old Dr. Sinclair listened, displaying a look of indifference to fa and wealth: "I’m not interested in appearing on programs, nor do I want the hassle. I’m already old, and I’m quite content just staying quietly at Sinclair Apothecary."

Claire Prescott didn’t persuade him and just let it be.

Thinking about when her dical skills haven’t reached the level of Old Dr. Sinclair, it’s better to keep a low profile and focus on improving her own skills.

So, the matter of the programs naturally ca to an end.

These past days.

Because the patients who needed house calls were all scheduled to co to the clinic, it seed from their words that they were aware of the relationship between Keane and her, treating her with courtesy.

And in the midst of her busy schedule, she welcod an uninvited guest.

Finn Prescott ca looking for her just as she was about to get off work.

As always, he registered to see her. Only this way could he talk to her for a few more words.

Claire Prescott calmly watched him walk in and, realizing that he’d registered for her again, asked before he even approached, "What’s the ailnt?"

Seeing her resistance, Finn’s expression paused for a mont, then he calmly sat down on the bench next to her and said, "It’s been a long ti, brother ca to check on sister."

Claire’s movents froze, as she clicked the [Complete] button with the mouse, saying in a deep voice, "If you’re not sick, then just go back."

"..." Finn was at a loss for words for a while, then softly said, "I’ve been in Beijing for so many days, and you haven’t taken out for a al."

His words were t with silence.

Enough.

He continued to coax, "After work, brother will take you out to eat."

Listening to him repeatedly call them brother and sister, Claire frowned, "You don’t need to really treat as a sister, nor do you need to be so concerned about . You owe nothing, I owe you nothing, we’re not biological siblings, there’s no need to pretend to be so close."

"Why say such things?"

"In short, it’s better you don’t co again in the future, let’s each be well on our own."

Finn’s face imdiately sank, with a gloom that couldn’t be dispelled, and once again a sense of helplessness flooded over him, chilling his entire heart.

His Adam’s apple moved with difficulty, and in the depressing room, he opened his lips, "Alright, I was being self-indulgent. I won’t bother you again in the future."

As soon as he finished speaking.

He avoided her gaze and left her consulting room in dejection.

From entering to leaving, it took less than two minutes. He thought that since she cherished the teorite Necklace he had given her, her heart might have softened a bit towards him, but it turned out to be the sa as before, she couldn’t accept him.

His head lowered, he walked through the short corridor, encountering Elder Sinclair at the corner, he politely greeted him.

Elder Sinclair responded and saw the gloom in his eyes. Ultimately, he couldn’t help but offer so comfort: "Claire’s troubles in her heart are hard to unravel. If she doesn’t want to be siblings with you, don’t bother her, don’t give yourself a hard ti. She’s doing well at Sinclair Apothecary, we’ll take good care of her, don’t worry."

Finn certainly understood this logic, but...why he was persistently unable to let go, he couldn’t explain it himself.

"You’ve raised Claire well, this reassures , as for the rest, I... I’ll think carefully after I go back."

Elder Sinclair furrowed his brows in contemplation, "Hmm, go ahead."

As the person walked past him, Elder Sinclair turned to watch him leave. As that tall figure disappeared, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

He shook his head, intending to head to Claire’s consulting room, but suddenly stopped halfway.

After hesitating for a mont, he turned back to his own tasks.

Tiger quietly watched, pretending he hadn’t seen anything and retracted his gaze.

The entire clinic was particularly quiet, he heard their conversation crystal clear, never expecting that man was Sister Claire’s brother after all...

...

In the consulting room.

Claire’s tightly knitted brows gradually loosened, and slowly she regained her composure amidst a tangle of thoughts.

As work ended, she went to the counter to find Tiger to discuss the inventory of herbs, but he wasn’t there, leaving the bodyguard brother to temporarily keep watch.

She leaned against the counter, patiently waiting for him to return from the restroom.

At this mont, a delicate and fair person entered the clinic.

Standing at 178 centiters, with a slim build, wearing a unisex T-shirt, sporting a head full of clean and briskly cut bangs, with a sharp stainless steel ear stud in the right ear.

The bodyguard brother took just one look and thought it was a young boy, not paying much attention.

Unexpectedly, in the next second.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the young doctor rush towards the person like a gust of wind, joyfully calling out the person’s na.

The bodyguard brother suddenly raised his head, clearly seeing the two embrace intimately, exchanging warm greetings and laughs.

At that mont, his mind instantly sounded with the crash of the sky falling, looking at them in disbelief.

Claire Prescott looked at her stunning features with surprise, her eyes seed to be full of stars, sparkling with light, "Iris, when did you co back?"

Iris Yates replied, "Just arrived in Beijing at noon."

Her voice, like her appearance, carried a slight hardness and a faint resonance.

Her character was evidently introverted, just that her silent deanor exuded a subtle heroic spirit, naturally giving off a sense of distance.

Claire unabashedly scrutinized her, "You seem to have changed a bit after studying abroad for a year."

"What has changed?"

Claire leaned in closer to her and sniffed, "You even started wearing perfu now."

Her voice was clean and lodic, echoing in the foyer.

Iris helplessly shook her head, "Still the sa as before, eting you and liking to tease ."

Realizing the setting wasn’t ideal, Claire didn’t chat too long with her, softening her voice slightly: "Wait here for a bit, I’ll grab my phone from the consulting room, then we can go out for dinner."

"Hmm, go ahead."

Seeing her figure lightly disappear around the corner,

During the wait, Iris couldn’t help but glance around at the environnt of Sinclair Apothecary. Her gaze inadvertently t the cold stare of the bodyguard brother.

Not understanding why he looked at her that way, she politely averted her gaze.
