Keane Lowell fell silent for a mont.

His gaze quietly observed the partially hidden face in the dim car interior.

He raised his hand, his long fingers gently brushing aside the hair from her temple with tenderness, yet the young woman still looked at him with resentnt.

He said helplessly, "I just asked a question."

Claire Prescott took a deep breath.

If she hadn’t said it, would he have paid attention to her? Besides, even after saying it, he still ignored her.

There was a mont of silence.

She explained, "Ethan Lancaster ca to see today for two things: to pay for the last dical expenses for Uncle Lancaster and to invite to Yvonne Lancaster’s birthday party. Before you saw that scene, I didn’t have any physical contact with him, not even letting him into Sinclair Apothecary."

"You can be angry, but you can’t doubt like that. I was bumped into him; I didn’t hug him voluntarily."

As she spoke, she watched his expression change, her words sincere.

Seeing those deep, dark eyes, she couldn’t help but soften her voice: "When we get back, I’ll cut down the Sinclair Apothecary’s threshold to appease you, okay?"

Claire coaxed him.

Her words were full of tenderness and softness.

Keane Lowell murmured, "Let’s not talk about this."

Claire pursued, "So, are you still angry?"

"Not completely."

"..." Claire had run out of options, dejectedly leaning back into his embrace.

So hard to appease.

Gradually.

She accepted the fact that the man wasn’t completely over it and realized he wasn’t going to be that magnanimous about such things.

In the calm of that mont, she suddenly rembered the thod he had used to help her relieve stress before. She raised her hand and placed it on his chest, imdiately sensing his muscles tense up.

His body heat spread to her palm through the fabric.

As she gently kneaded, the man quickly grasped her hand, "Don’t light a fire."

Claire seriously explained, "I’m massaging your heart."

"The heart’s over here?"

At his words, Claire’s hand trembled a bit, her rounded fingertips curling up helplessly.

Then.

She withdrew her hand from his, inadvertently grazing over his well-defined muscles, which was imdiately followed by a muffled sigh from him.

Having been with him.

She naturally recognized that sound of excitent; her fingertips felt a strange tingling sensation.

Pretending not to notice, she shifted and lay on the other side, finding the area over his heart and gently massaged a few tis.

Tilting her neck slightly, she tentatively asked, "Feeling any better?"

The man’s gaze was so intense as if it would draw her in.

When Claire t his eyes, her heart trembled; before she could react, the man lowered his head and kissed her lips without a word.

A strong, intense breath crashed over, not holding back at all, kissing her passionately and fervently, even his lips grazing her smooth and soft chin.

Her heart began heating up and trembling faintly, imdiately losing all order.

Claire was dizzy from his kisses, realizing only upon reaching Azure Court that at so point her legs had spread across his lap.

The loose, languid shirt on her body skewed to one side, barely concealing her, while the man was nibbling on her shoulder.

The car parked steadily; the driver swiftly and calmly stepped out from the driver’s seat, closed the door, and disappeared.

Faintly, the car seed to sway slightly.

"We’re ho." Claire reminded him, her voice a little tremulous.

The man didn’t respond, solely focused on creating heat and marks on her neck.

"Keane."

Keane Lowell, finding her noisy, kissed her lips again, his deep voice slipping through, "Just here, I’ll be gentle."

As if with enchantnt.

Claire sobered a bit, raising her hand to press against his warm and moist lips.

Under that dense gaze, she weakly spoke, "You must promise never to ntion yesterday afternoon again, and don’t be angry over it, okay?"

Keane pressed her lower back closer against him.

Claire instantly felt it, her face growing redder, her breathing a bit erratic.

Despite knowing how disordered they were at the mont, she remained firm, eting his passionate, deep gaze without backing down, "And you still owe an apology."

The stubborn strength in her seed to challenge him.

Keane’s eyes darkened, not expecting her to bargain at such a ti.

As their gazes t.

Keane finally yielded to her.

Yet, mischievously, he brushed aside the fabric, hearing her uncontrolled voice before he finally agreed.

"I won’t bring it up again."

"I’m sorry, my dear."

The yellow streetlight warmly spilled down, casting a glow upon the jet-black car.

Faintly.

The swaying window seed to fog over slightly.

Birds on the branches chirped a few tis, flapping their wings past the treetops, while the bright moon hung high, gradually descending westward.

The car door opened from inside.

Keane erged from the car, carrying a person damp with sweat, bringing with him a robust, steady air.

All the way into the house, up the stairs, to the bedroom, smoothly laying the person on the large bed, he bent over her.

The bedroom light was bright, clearly reflecting that fair, blushing face with eyes slightly unfocused, and slightly flushed at the corners.

Having just caught her breath, the man pressed on her again, holding her, kissing passionately.

...

The next morning.

Waking up in his broad embrace, Claire’s lashes fluttered quietly, recalling the chaotic scenes of the previous night in her mind.

That repeated "my dear," indulgently entwined, lingered in the air carrying his scent, unable to be shaken off under his warmth.

For soone so steady and stable, how was he so reckless and unrestrained when doing such things?

"Awake?"

A low, husky voice sounded from behind her.

Claire was too lazy to respond, curling up in his embrace.

He half leaned up, planting a kiss on her white, smooth cheek, then pulled the blanket off, heading toward the bathroom.

Suddenly rembering her work, she sprang up from the bed and squeezed into the bathroom with him.

The pair went downstairs together.

eting Auntie Susan again after many days, she kindly inquired, "Auntie Susan, is your hand better?"

Auntie Susan’s face lit up with a grateful smile, "It’s better now; thank you for the dicine, miss."

"Young master, miss, breakfast is ready."

"Okay." Claire replied.

Pulling out her phone during breakfast to check an appointnt visit route, she only glanced at it once before the person across said, "Don’t play with your phone while eating."

She paused, glancing up at the refreshed-looking man, and told him, "I have an appointnt visit later, just checking how long it’ll take to get there."

"I’ll take you over later."

Imdiately, her phone was taken away by him and tucked into his pants pocket.

Claire held back for a mont and said nothing more.

However, he accompanied her, and the place wasn’t too far from Azure Court, a spacious villa with a large yard.

Keane looked at the building before them, his expression slightly apprehensive.
