Seeing their intimate gesture, Finn Wynter’s face darkened. He glared at Kaden Xavier with a look that could kill.
Wren Wynter looked uncomfortable. She struggled out of Kaden Xavier’s arms and coldly put so distance between them.
The two n had very different reactions to Wren’s movent.
Finn Wynter’s expression softened considerably, and he beckoned to Wren.
"Co here."
"Wren!"
Kaden Xavier quickly grabbed Wren’s wrist. When he saw her shake him off and walk toward Finn, a sharp pain lanced through his heart.
"Mr. Xavier, thank you for bringing Wren to the airport. We have other things to attend to, so we won’t keep you."
Finn Wynter put an arm around Wren’s shoulder, intending to lead her away.
Kaden Xavier imdiately blocked their path. His narrow, dark eyes were fixed on the hand Finn had on Wren’s shoulder, his gaze so intense it seed to bore right through him.
"What exactly is your relationship?"
"We’re..."
Just as Wren was about to explain, Finn cut her off. "What our relationship is is none of your business, is it, Mr. Xavier? Or do I need to remind you that you and Wren are already divorced?"
Kaden Xavier’s face grew darker. His hands clenched into fists, and seeing them so close made him want to rush over and tear them apart.
"People who get divorced can also remarry."
"You two will never remarry in this lifeti. I won’t allow it."
The atmosphere between them plumted to a freezing point. The air was thick with the sll of gunpowder, and with daggers drawn, neither man was willing to back down.
Wren couldn’t stand it anymore. She stepped between them, holding out her hands to separate them.
"Stop it, Kaden Xavier. We have things to do. Thank you for today."
Seeing Wren side with Finn, Kaden once again felt the sting of abandonnt, a suffocating pain flooding his mind.
’So this is what it feels like to be abandoned.’
’So this is how I abandoned Wren, ti and ti again.’
"Wren, I..."
Kaden’s outstretched hand hung in mid-air, but his phone rang at the most inopportune mont.
He had no choice but to give up, answering the call with a sour expression.
"Mr. Xavier, sothing’s co up at the company. We need you to handle it."
"I’ll be right back."
Wren knew Kaden Xavier’s company had been very busy lately. This was a good chance for her to take Finn ho. They would part ways once more, and hopefully, their paths would never cross again.
"Let’s go."
Wren tugged on Finn’s sleeve, and they left the airport side by side.
Kaden Xavier watched their retreating figures until they disappeared, an indescribable emotion welling up inside him.
「View Gardens.」
Finn Wynter didn’t have a place to stay in Cathay yet, so for the ti being, he could only live at View Gardens. Fortunately, the villa had plenty of rooms, and Wren had already asked Butler Chandler to prepare a spare one before she ca ho.
"Brother, do you have any plans now that you’re back?"
"I’m back for good this ti. I told Mom I’m going to gradually expand the company’s business into the dostic market. After all, this is my ho."
In truth, this idea had been on Finn’s mind for a while, but it had been put on the back burner because of Grace Wynter’s illness.
Now that Grace was better, he could finally free up the ti to tackle this project. It was a welco opportunity.
As soon as they got back to View Gardens, Butler Chandler enthusiastically showed Finn to his guest room, while Wren returned to her own.
An hour later, the doorbell at View Gardens suddenly rang. Wren went downstairs to get it.
Shaun Quinn was standing at the door, his eyes filled with gravity.
"Shaun, what are you doing here?"
Wren was a little surprised. Shaun’s face was grim, and his gaze bypassed Wren to land on sothing behind her.
"Let’s talk inside."
Wren nodded. But as she turned, she saw Finn standing on the first floor in casual loungewear, water droplets still clinging to his hair. He had clearly just gotten out of the shower.
"We have a guest."
"Mhm, this is my second senior," Wren introduced to Finn. "Shaun, this is..."
"I need to talk to you about sothing."
Shaun shot Finn a hostile glance, and before Wren could finish her sentence, he pulled her over to sit on the sofa.
Sensing the palpable hostility, Finn found it rather amusing. He was a man, too; he understood Shaun’s feelings for Wren the mont he laid eyes on him.
He shook his head and thought, ’Having such a charming sister isn’t always a good thing.’
"I looked into what you told last ti about Seraphina Sutton being bailed out. My contact sent this surveillance footage. See if you recognize this person."
Shaun took out his phone and sent a video to Wren. Curious, she opened it. Her eyes were glued to the screen, and her face gradually darkened.
The surveillance video showed that the person who posted bail was a woman. She wore a hat and carried a limited-edition Louis Vuitton bag, indicating she likely ca from a wealthy family.
But Wren had a nagging feeling she’d seen this woman sowhere before. Her build, the bag she was carrying...
Wren used her fingers to zoom in on the woman’s head. The woman slowly turned around.
The mont she saw the woman’s face clearly, Wren was stunned. Her eyes widened in astonishnt, the phone slipped from her hand, and her expression filled with disbelief.
"You know her?"
"It’s Tina Wallace."
Although she should have been prepared for this, seeing with her own eyes that Tina Wallace was the one who had bailed out Seraphina Sutton still sent a chill of fear through her.
It was a good thing she had always been wary of Tina; otherwise, she would have been sched against without even knowing it.
"Are you sure it’s her?"
"I’m sure. That face is identical to Tina Wallace’s."
Wren checked again and again. It was definitely Tina Wallace herself. She was the one who had bailed out Seraphina Sutton.
"What are you two talking about? I don’t understand a thing."
Finn’s voice ca from behind them. He walked over with a glass of water in his hand, his face a picture of confusion.
Shaun shot him a cold look, as if warning him not to ddle. Finn didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Although he’d never t Shaun before, he couldn’t be too rude to his own sister’s senior.
"Brother, it’s like this. I suspect there’s so secret between this Tina Wallace and Seraphina Sutton."
When Shaun heard Wren call Finn "Brother," his cold expression began to crack. His body went rigid, and he looked at Finn in astonishnt.
Finn noticed Shaun’s strange reaction and thought to himself, ’Young people are so impulsive.’
"Wasn’t Seraphina Sutton arrested?"
"You know about that?!"
Wren was surprised. She had never told Finn about Seraphina Sutton.
Finn sighed helplessly. "No matter what, you’re the only family I have in this world besides Mom. Of course I’m going to pay attention to your affairs. It wasn’t hard to find sothing like this out."
Wren scratched her head, embarrassed, and told Finn everything that had happened recently.
A cold glint flashed in Finn’s eyes. He took a sip of water, a mocking sneer playing on his lips.
