Chapter 16: Chapter 18: The Woman Who Fell in Love at First Sight (13) Chapter 16: Chapter 18: The Woman Who Fell in Love at First Sight (13) One sentence instantly made Percy Stanton’s face extrely gloomy. His handso and charming face suddenly beca icy cold. He abruptly reached out, grabbed Isabel Smith, and pushed her to sit on the toilet cover. Placing his hands on either side of Isabel, he slowly lowered his head until their faces were only an inch apart before stopping.
His beautiful face seed enlarged in her eyes, dazzling her.
His breath, unbearably hot, sprayed on her face.
Isabel sniffed the dangerous sll and instinctively reached out, trying to push Percy away, “Get out of my way, I need to get out!”
Percy did not budge from Isabel’s force. Instead, he deliberately leaned closer and cornered her in a small space, as if to overpower her. Looking into her eyes, he asked in a questioning tone, “Move? How can I move? Don’t forget that you provoked from the beginning! Or is it that you now have a new way out, so you want to abandon ?”
Six years ago, she shalessly clung to him.
Six years later, she was the one who actively sought him out for a contract.
In their relationship, she was the one who provoked him from the start!
And every ti after provoking him, she irresponsibly wanted to escape. She had gotten away for six years the first ti, but now, she wouldn’t be so lucky!
Percy’s tone was low and heavy, like stones hitting Isabel’s heart one after another, causing her body to shudder with fear. Subconsciously, she shrank back but still tried to stand tall, slightly lifting her chin, and curling the corners of her lips to hide her fear. She mustered all her strength to speak calmly and clearly, “Percy, abandon you? Don’t forget that the first ti I t you, I offered you a high-paying job, but you only gave an ambiguous attitude!”
“I needed your help, so I put up with it, without resistance or struggle. I let you arrange everything for and beca your bed-partner!”
“But what about you? Whenever you wanted, you’d co and visit my place, eat up, and after satisfying yourself, you’d just leave! And then disappear for days on end!”
“You know what my goal is, but you intentionally stalled.”
“Now it’s been two months. I want to ask you, what exactly do you want?”
Isabel took a deep breath, calming her emotions.
Compared to Henry Maxwell, she would rather cooperate with Percy. Moreover, she knew that Henry had ulterior motives.
It was clear that Percy was not an easy person to handle.
But in the end, she wanted to give it a try.
If it was really hopeless, she would have no choice but to accept Henry’s offer.
“Just tell straight, what do you want? Money? If you think the remuneration I’ve offered isn’t enough, you can na your price. As long as it’s not too outrageous, I can accept it.” Isabel paused for a mont before continuing, “If you’re still unwilling to sign the contract with , then I think I’ll have no choice but to cooperate with Henry Maxwell. At the sa ti, I can’t maintain an improper relationship with you.”
He had known from the start that she had obediently let him eat her up and stayed in the room he arranged for her, all to achieve her original goal.
When they were at Starhaven University Pedestrian Street, he already knew that she had completely forgotten their past. Those fleeting encounters ant nothing to her.
Only he alone treasured those brief monts and etched them in his heart.
Now that she had co to a crossroads, she wanted to kick him away without hesitation.
