Fei Jin raised an eyebrow and countered, "And what else? You’re being so mysterious."

"Hmm..."

She deliberately drew out her words.

"And... you’ve been diligently following the doctor’s orders. To make sure I can rest easy, you’ve insisted on taking cold showers every single day. If you hadn’t done that, I’d probably still be working late into the night. How would I have had the ti to quietly study these dical books?"

Fei Jin’s face flushed slightly at her words. His lips parted, but it was a long mont before he softly murmured her na.

"Qingya, you..."

The two of them continued to talk and laugh all the way.

Before they knew it, they had arrived at the Luo family’s doorstep.

As they got out of the car, Song Qingya reached for a gift box of peach crisps on the seat, intending to carry it inside, but Fei Jin gently stopped her.

"Don’t carry anything heavy. Just go inside, sit down, and wait for ."

As he spoke, he gathered all the gift boxes into his own hands, not forgetting to place his other hand on the small of her back to carefully support her.

Fei Jin walked up the steps and knocked on the door.

A mont later, the sound of shuffling footsteps ca from inside the house.

It was followed by a slightly annoyed voice. "Who is it? Coming to visit in the middle of the day. I was just about to go out and run an errand. I don’t have ti to entertain guests!"

The door opened.

Yang Yingzi, who answered the door, saw Fei Jin and Song Qingya standing outside.

The expression on her face changed imdiately, a mix of surprise and relief.

"Oh, it’s Xiao Fei and Qingya! You’re here! Co in, quick! My goodness, you ca without calling ahead, I really didn’t expect you. I just got back from the city and was just planning to head to your place to see you this afternoon."

As she spoke, she hurried forward a few steps and took the things from Fei Jin’s hands, as if afraid they would get tired if they carried them any longer.

"You’re both too kind! Why did you bring so many things!"

Her voice held a hint of complaint, but it also revealed a touch of emotion.

"Qingya, co and sit down, right here on the sofa. You’re pregnant, you can’t be standing. Oh my, that won’t do!"

Song Qingya smiled slightly, nodded in acknowledgnt, and followed Yang Yingzi to the sofa, gently sitting down.

Yang Yingzi sat down beside her and said with a soft laugh, "Qingya, it’s quite a coincidence. If you had co looking for us this afternoon, you would have missed us. We have other plans and won’t be ho."

"Oh my, it really is a coincidence."

Song Qingya smiled gently and responded in a soft tone.

As Yang Yingzi spoke, she fiddled with her dusty apron.

She didn’t seem as talkative and enthusiastic as she had when they first t.

She kept lowering her head from ti to ti, as if sothing was weighing on her mind.

She looked at Fei Jin and Song Qingya beside her, her lips moving a few tis as if she wanted to say sothing but held back.

After a mont of silence, the expression on her face suddenly began to crumble.

"Sister-in-law, what’s wrong?"

Fei Jin’s voice was the first to break the silence, laced with concern.

"Is it about Brother Luo?"

Song Qingya quickly took out a handkerchief, gently handed it to her, and asked softly as she sat beside her.

"What about Brother Luo? Is he not ho?"

"It’s nothing... really, it’s nothing..."

Yang Yingzi sniffled, holding back tears as she spoke.

"Brother Luo hasn’t co back yet; he’s been hospitalized. I’ve asked my cousin to help take care of the elders for a few days. I just ca ho to pack so necessities. In a couple of days, I’m going to Qi City to be with him."

After she finished speaking, her emotions still hadn’t completely settled.

She firmly grasped the hand Song Qingya had used to offer the handkerchief, holding on tight and refusing to let go.

"Qingya, you really helped us so much this ti. I’m grateful to you from the bottom of my heart. If you hadn’t discovered his condition in ti and had him get checked and treated, the consequences would have been unimaginable."

"I rember that day, we had just arrived at the big hospital in the city and had a full check-up. After the results ca back, the doctor told us that if we had delayed coming in for another month or two, the situation would have been critical."

"If sothing had really happened to him, how would Weiwei and I have survived, with no one to rely on? Qingya, this is a debt we will never forget for the rest of our lives."

Hearing that Luo Fuman’s illness had been diagnosed, Song Qingya finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She quickly said softly, "Sister-in-law, you don’t have to be so formal."

"Brother Luo and Ajin are brothers-in-arms; it’s only right that I help where I can. Besides, I happen to be studying Chinese dicine, so I’m more sensitive to these kinds of symptoms. When I noticed sothing wasn’t right, of course I had to tell you right away."

Then, she paused for a mont and asked with concern, "How is Brother Luo now? Is his condition stable? Are there any uncomfortable symptoms?"

Yang Yingzi sighed and replied, "We got there just in ti. After the examination, the doctor prescribed so restorative dicine to help him recuperate first. While we were staying at my cousin’s place in the city, we went ahead and brewed the Chinese dicine you had Xiao Fei send over. After having Old Luo drink it a few tis, his energy surprisingly started getting better day by day."

"The doctor said we still need to observe his condition for now."

Her tone relaxed slightly as she spoke.

"If he continues to improve, he might not need surgery. He’ll just need to control it with long-term dication."

At this, her voice grew a little softer, and her heart couldn’t help but fill with gratitude.

"Qingya, honestly, I’m so grateful to you. If you hadn’t warned right away, who knows when we would have discovered this. I was so scared during that ti. Especially when we first got to the city and found out Old Luo had the exact illness you’d warned about, my mind just went blank."

"The very next day, Xiao Fei sent over the restorative herbs, faster than I could have imagined. But I was a little hesitant at first. After all, you can’t just drink this kind of Chinese dicine casually, so I took the prescription to a Chinese dicine doctor in the city to have it looked over carefully."

She recalled softly.

"After looking at it, the old Chinese dicine doctor said the prescription was tailored to his condition. He said the ingredients were mild, with no overly potent herbs, and that it was safe to try a few doses."

"In any case, I knew you would never do anything to harm Brother Luo, Qingya. You only did it because you were genuinely worried about him."

As Yang Yingzi spoke, a look of relief appeared in her eyes.

So she tried brewing the dicine for Old Luo a few tis.

She didn’t really have high hopes at first.

’Even if the dicine has no miraculous effects, it would still be good as a health supplent to build up his strength.’

But the result was completely unexpected.

When they went back to the hospital in the city for a follow-up appointnt, the doctor looked at the test results and said in surprise that his physical condition had improved significantly since the first visit.

Only a day or two had passed, yet the change was so great.
