"Poor Dao bids farewell, Daoist friend!"
Saint Zhunti bowed respectfully toward the direction in which Sect Hierarch Tongtian had left.
Beside him, Saint Jieyin, however, did not move, standing quietly there until the aura of Sect Hierarch Tongtian had completely vanished before he slowly let out a sigh of relief.
He raised his head to glimpse the bright moon hanging in the overhead sky, his eyes flashing a trace of reluctance.
"Eldest brother..."
Saint Zhunti looked at Saint Jieyin with so concern, wanting to ask about his experience in the formation.
Saint Jieyin shook his head, still terrified, and said, "That Tongtian is even stronger than we imagined; even without using the Slaying Immortal Sword Array, I am no match for him."
"Eldest brother need not worry, let everything be left to the future," Saint Zhunti whispered.
As he spoke, he turned and returned to the side of the Bodhi Tree, sitting down again, closing his eyes, and bringing his hands together once more, silently reciting the scriptures.
Beneath the night sky, the stars shone dazzlingly, a bright moon hung high, illuminating the whole earth.
Saint Jieyin looked at him and took a light breath.
"Well done, well done!"
...
Stepping out from the Light Gate, Yu Yuan had already arrived at a tranquil Immortal Mountain, his eyes catching sight of a mystical cave mansion shrouded in Immortal aura.
From a distance, mist and clouds danced in brilliant colors, the sun and moon shimred, presenting a majestic and solemn spectacle of an Immortal's abode.
Beside the door of the cave mansion stood a stone tablet about three zhang tall and eight chi wide, upon which ten large characters were inscribed: "Mountain of Mind and Heart, Three Star Cave."
Yu Yuan stepped forward to knock, but the cave door had already opened on its own, and from within ca an elder Daoist with white hair and a ruddy complexion, smiling, "Poor Dao has been waiting for a long ti."
This elder Daoist looked exactly like the Bodhi Patriarch whom Yu Yuan had t in that future ti and space, without the slightest change.
Perhaps noticing Yu Yuan's gaze, Bodhi Patriarch seed a bit surprised, saying, "It seems that what Zhunti Daoist friend said is correct, you have indeed seen Poor Dao before.
However, Poor Dao does not rember when that happened.
Could it be that for the most part of the past many years I have been in closed-door cultivation, comprehending the Dao, causing so mory lapses in Poor Dao?"
The past?
Yu Yuan thought to himself: That is my past, and perhaps your future.
He was not certain that the future ti and space would indeed occur.
After all, the future has countless possibilities.
Yu Yuan gave a slight smile and said, "Daoist friend need not mind these things."
Bodhi Patriarch took a deep look at him, then slowly nodded his head, and said, "Very good indeed."
Then, he took a careful look at Yu Yuan again, "Poor Dao has not had visitors for quite so ti, since you, Daoist friend, have the fate to co here, why not stay for a while."
Yu Yuan nodded slightly; it seed that Zhunti Patriarch had already prepared things for him.
If nothing unexpected happened, at least he could now enjoy so peace for a while.
And so, Yu Yuan settled down in the Three Star Cave.
Though the space inside this Grotto Heaven was vast, there were no other people, only Bodhi Patriarch himself, not even a serving child by his side.
On ordinary days, Bodhi Patriarch either ditated and comprehended the Dao in the cave mansion or was in the Alchemy Room refining Spirit Pills.
Yu Yuan soon spent dozens of days here, enjoying the rare tranquility.
It seed that Bodhi Patriarch quite appreciated the quiet; apart from the initial eting, he never appeared again.
Yu Yuan did not mind,
During this ti, he too imrsed himself in the comprehension of the Dao and did not feel bored.
Ti passed day by day in this way.
Yu Yuan, during his ti in the Three Star Cave, found his understanding of the Dao Law growing increasingly profound.
In the blink of an eye.
Winter passed, spring ca, and ti flew.
Unconsciously, Yu Yuan had already spent a full four years in the Three Star Cave.
On this particular morning, as usual, he was walking around his residence.
Suddenly, a heart-palpitating sense of unease burst forth from within him.
Without any warning, it just suddenly appeared.
"What is this..."
A thought crossed Yu Yuan's mind, and he faintly felt a soft voice whispering sothing in his ear.
His brows furrowed slightly as he instinctively released his Divine Thought to sweep the surroundings.
Yet after scanning the entirety of the Grotto Heaven, aside from the Alchemy Room where Bodhi Saint resided, there were no corners that could hide from his probing.
"What has happened?"
At this mont, Bodhi Saint erged from the Alchemy Room, inquiring curiously.
He had sensed that Yu Yuan was using Divine Thought to investigate around, and hence ca out to ask.
Seeing this, Yu Yuan imdiately understood that the gentle voice could only be heard by himself.
"It's nothing."
Right now, Yu Yuan rembered what it was all about.
This voice, he had heard it before as well.
With this thought, he quickly took his leave from Bodhi Saint and returned to his residence. He then took out his Qiankun Ruyi Bag and rummaged through it for a while before finally finding a Jade Pestle.
This was a jade pestle with a color as clear as the green ocean, less than a foot long, with a thick head, a thin tail, ring patterns at the center, and many runes intricately carved into its hollowed surface, looking very mysterious and elegant.
Right now, the jade pestle was emitting a faint treasured radiance.
When Yu Yuan reached out and grasped the jade pestle, the gentle murmur imdiately beca clearer.
"Who will co and save... ?"
"Hmm?"
Yu Yuan softly exclaid, feeling imnsely curious.
The last ti the jade pestle glowed, the voice that ca from it said, "Do not save her."
Although Yu Yuan was sowhat baffled at the beginning, he later realized that it was a warning from the other party.
But this ti, it had turned into a genuine plea for help!
This jade pestle was given to him by Chang'e Fairy, said to be left by her mistress, the Taiyin Goddess, Chang Xi Fairy.
Presumably, the person requesting help now must be that very Chang Xi Fairy.
Combining the information obtained from Demon Queen Xi He last ti, Yu Yuan could determine that this Chang Xi Fairy was trapped in the Ancient Era along with Demon Emperor Emperor Jun, Donghuang Taiyi, and the others.
Perhaps when she left this jade pestle, she was hoping he could go and rescue her.
However, Yu Yuan didn't understand why she would seek help from him.
They barely knew each other, rely a fleeting encounter!
Why should he risk ti and space travel to rescue her, going back to the Ancient Era?
Yu Yuan was no Holy Mother wishing for everyone's happiness; he only cared for those whom he valued.
If it were sothing trivial, he might as well save her.
But going to the Ancient Era, facing the unknown realm and the likes of Demon Emperor Emperor Jun and Donghuang Taiyi, even to him now, it wasn't certain that he could surely defeat them.
Especially when it's the critical ti of the Sealing God Tribulation, coupled with the unstable factor of the Sect Hierarch Tongtian, he really had no ti to venture to the Ancient Era to save soone.
With this in mind, he prepared to put the jade pestle back into the Qiankun Ruyi Bag.
Just then, the jade pestle suddenly flashed a glimr of light, and a series of strange images erged before his eyes, flitting before him like a slideshow.
Yu Yuan was slightly surprised, not expecting the jade pestle to have the Image Retention Pearl's function as well.
He had held it in his hand for so long and had never discovered this!
But soon he found that there was a seal on the jade pestle, which would only loosen in the hands of a Quasi-Saint.
That explained it; no wonder he was clueless.
Yu Yuan realized this.
When the jade pestle had first co into his possession, his Dao Xing was not high, so he could not examine the content inside, but now that he has beco a Quasi-Saint, the seal on the jade pestle had automatically loosened.
Understanding this, Yu Yuan focused his attention on the images recorded by the jade pestle.
He had thought the protagonist of these images would certainly be that Taiyin Goddess, but to his surprise, the first figure to catch his eye was a tall man's silhouette.
He saw the man dressed in exquisite garnts, his handso features unable to conceal a haughty pride, radiating nobility.
Those detached and cold eyes sweeping ahead, his inherent aloofness seed to separate everything from himself.
He was holding a fragnt in his hand, its color gold.
Yu Yuan's gaze slightly sharpened.
He recognized the man—it was Donghuang Taiyi!
He also recognized that fragnt; judging by its size and shape, it was the missing piece of the Chaos Bell!
