Before Bei Ran and Tang Baijin’s call was over, Gu Qingchen pressed up against her again from behind.

Just a mont ago, the man had indulged her; she said she had a headache, and he massaged her.

Yet the mont he heard her lively conversation on the phone, it seed to co alive!

Feeling his hot and towering fra, Bei Ran trembled slightly, then hung up the phone with one hand.

When the cell phone slipped to the ground, deep as the Aegean Sea, Gu Qingchen’s eyes changed as he saw those three characters.

His eyes were like the ocean beneath the clear blue sky: calm on the surface but hiding unknown, tumultuous dangers.

Bei Ran turned slightly to the side, "I need to go to work now!"

"Quit your job," Gu Qingchen’s voice seed calm, but it hid untold dangers.

Bei Ran’s eyes widened; her apricot-shaped eyes were already large and beautiful, now tinged with morning light, they resembled the most splendid Lake Baikal under the golden sun.

She was indeed a bit surprised by his words, so she half-jokingly said, "Will I get alimony paynts from you then?"

By "then," she was referring to the ti of their divorce. Under Chinese law, if a couple has no children, the husband does not have to pay the wife alimony.

In Europe and Arica, however, it is very common for a husband to pay his ex-wife alimony after a divorce, ensuring she can continue living at the standard she was accustod to during the marriage.

Yet, it was this very sentence that caused Gu Qingchen’s expression to turn cold in an instant.

Even if he planned to support her for a lifeti, did she have to keep reminding him that divorce was inevitable?

Seeing his change in expression, Bei Ran then put on a shallow smile and in her usual coquettish tone said, "Alright, I’m off, I’m already late!"

Just as she turned around to dash off to wash up, Gu Qingchen pressed her against the wall with one hand.

The towering man pressed behind her without leaving any space.

In front was ice, behind was fire.

No way forward, no way back.

Is this not what their marriage had beco? Four years of companionship, had the flavor long faded away?

"Bei Ran..." Gu Qingchen saw that she was still dismissively responding to him, but was he, Gu Qingchen, really that easy to fob off?

Bei Ran also sensed his anger, and spoke softly, with a touch of indifference: "Qingchen, you know I need a job."

If he hadn’t presented the divorce agreent for her to sign, she might beco like a frog in warm water, slowly being boiled alive within the confines of their contractual marriage.

Even if boiled, she might actually let him support her for a lifeti!

Yet, everyone understands one truth.

How is she, with no inco after the divorce, supposed to survive in this high-cost city?

And there’s also her son and daughter, those are her greatest concerns.

She looked at him intently, "Qingchen... Mmm..."

This kiss, carrying his anger, transferred to her lips, and also imprinted on her heart.
