Trapped 6
“Nishiki-kun, you’re not in trouble, aren’t you?”
Tenjō-sensei, in teacher mode, casually checks in on .
“There’s no problem other than receiving a lot of ssages. I’ve also brought my power bank today.”
My smartphone battery level is dropping rapidly because of the vibration.
Even Tenjō-san, who thought everything was fine, looks worried after seeing the actual situation.
“I-I guess you’re used to it, huh?”
“I’ll ask for your help if there’s a serious problem.”
“As always, don’t hesitate to ask .”
“So reliable. Tenjō-sensei is a model teacher.”
“Don’t flatter . Helping students with their troubles is part of a teacher’s job.”
After Sensei leaves, I use the short ti before the first period to reply.
【Yuunagi: I’m at school, so cut down on the ssages.】
【Kaguya: Ah, you finally replied. You’re so slow!】
【Yuunagi: You send too many ssages. It’s like wanko soba.】(All you can eat soba.)
【Kaguya: lol】
【Yuunagi: I can’t read them all.】
【Kaguya: You need to communicate more often with girls, or they will get tired of you.】
【Yuunagi: Suit yourself.】
【Kaguya: As for , I just can’t bring myself to dislike you, Yuu-kun.】
【Yuunagi: Keep your brother complex in check.】
【Kaguya: I wouldn’t mind if you beca a siscon.】
【Yuunagi: It might be worth considering if that’s what it takes to calm Kaguya down.】
【Kaguya: Yes-yes! Totally! Beco a siscon!】
【Yuunagi: …I can’t sense a shred of calmness here.】
This was how we exchanged ssages every break, and before I knew it, it was lunchti.
“Nishiki, why have you been on your phone all morning?”
“Is Nikki’s lover the type to get sick if she doesn’t hear anything from you? The kind who gets neurotic if you lose contact with her?”
Akira and Mayuzumi-san called out to .
“Mayuzumi-san, are you still going on about this morning’s joke?”
“Is that a problem?”
Mayuzumi-san was smiling.
While I regretted my own slip of the tongue, Akira was looking at with dismay.
At least she seed to have returned to a good enough mood to talk.
“I don’t have a girlfriend, and the one contacting is a family mber.”
“An ergency matter?”
“No, it’s a completely unnecessary matter.”
“Then you should just ignore it.”
“Akira, you’re so harsh!? As expected of an only child.”
Mayuzumi-san retorted imdiately.
“It’s family, so it’s not a big deal if you’re a bit rough with them. I mostly ignore my dad’s calls.”
The cruelty of a teenage daughter…
Be kind to your dad!
“Well, I guess it’s hard to ignore them now after all the tis I’ve let it slide.”
“Living alone can be tough, huh? Do you hate your family?”
“…That’s not it, which is why it’s troubleso.”
“Hmm.”
Akira looked at with a aningful expression.
“What is it?”
“It just seems like Nishiki is taking on unnecessary troubles again.”
“Hey-hey, be careful with what you say. Akira, you’re one of them, you know?”
“Just so you know, my morning wake-up calls were your idea, Nishiki! I absolutely won’t accept any cancellations.”
Akira gets annoyed and retorts.
“You already said that this morning, and I agree. I’d feel lonely too if my classmates had to repeat a year or drop out. Plus, it would cause trouble for others.”
“Classmates…”
Akira fell silent after that.
“Nikki has this unconscious ability to drag people into a swamp. Even if he got a possessive lover, he’d respond with all his might, making the other person even more dependent and unable to escape.”
I was a little taken aback.
“That’s a very specific scenario.”
“Kindness can sotis be a sin, Nikki.”
That’s absurd. What I want is a relationship where the two of us are independent.
“I’d probably go insane because I’d prefer to be left alone at tis. Isn’t it annoying to reply out of a sense of obligation?”
Akira hugged herself as if to say it was absolutely impossible for her.
“There are people in the world who feel anxious if they’re not on a constant connection.”
Mayuzumi-san had a knowing look on her face.
She had many friends and a wide social circle, so she must have experience dealing with that type of person.
“Ugh, I could never get along with that type.”
“Akiaki can manage just fine without flocking with others.”
“If you understand that, then stop bothering .”
“You’re just shy.”
Mayuzumi-san doesn’t seem bothered by Akira’s cold response.
“Well, it’s not like Akira will have a chance to et my little sister anyway.”
“Huh? Your sister is the one you’ve been in contact with? You should have said that earlier.”
“Oh, did I not ntion it?”
“Nikki, Ririka never heard of her either.”
If Mayuzumi-san said so, then I must have forgotten to ntion it.
” ‘I could never get along with that type’ doesn’t an I couldn’t get along with Nishiki’s sister! Don’t get the wrong idea!”
Akira corrected herself with her face turning red.
“Why did you suddenly start getting more ssages from your sister, Nikki?”
“She suddenly showed up at my place last night.”
“Wow, spending the last of Golden Week with your sibling, that’s super close.”
To be precise, it was a pizza party with our horoom teacher, Tenjō Reiyu.
“It just happened. Until then, I was just relaxing at ho.”
“Aw, it’s so sad to be all alone. If I had known, I would have invited you out!”
Mayuzumi-san suddenly showed sympathy, thinking I had been bored on Golden Week.
I couldn’t honestly say that I had been taking care of our teacher’s cold.
Other than that, the ti flew by as I did house cleaning and other chores I normally couldn’t get to.
“Hey, let’s go out sowhere after the midterm exams are over!”
“I’m fine. Mayuzumi-san, you must have plenty of other friends to hang out with, right?”
“Ririka wants to play with Nikki and Akiaki!”
“Uh, I…”
“It’ll just be a date between Nikki and Ririka if you refuse, you know?”
The conversation moves forward on its own with the assumption that I’ll be going.
