Chapter 41: Chapter 41: White Lotus Shatters the Boulder with a Single Punch
At this mont, Wanqing didn’t harbor such grand ambitions. Her sole intention was to outdo Gu Anxi.
She was well aware that Qin Siyuan had not entirely let go of Gu Anxi. To a man, the unattained is always the most desirable.
Wanqing wanted everyone to know that she was superior to Gu Anxi.
He Lao was a contemporary master, and if it weren’t for her acquaintance with Professor Gao, she could never have made this connection.
Standing next to Qin Siyuan, she suddenly thought of sothing else and spoke softly, "I heard Uncle ntion that the Old Master seems quite unhappy with Anxi."
ntioning this, Qin Siyuan’s composed deanor slightly faltered. He put down his paintbrush. "Probably still upset about the loss of fifty million."
Anyone would be upset; fifty million wasn’t a trivial amount.
Wanqing bit her lip and cautiously ventured, "Siyuan, don’t you find it strange? The hacker ’W’ was blocked, yet Anxi could crack it imdiately. Isn’t there sothing fishy going on?"
Qin Siyuan turned his head to look at her.
Her heartbeat accelerated.
A mont later, Qin Siyuan said indifferently, "Isn’t Lin Qi’s cousin the one you brought in? By that logic, you could be involved too?"
Wanqing panicked a little and bit her lip. "I was just guessing. Siyuan, how could I possibly do anything to harm the Qin family?"
As she spoke, her eyes welled with a hint of tears, showing a slight sense of grievance.
She took the paintbrush and made a few strokes on the canvas, as if venting her displeasure.
Qin Siyuan, to so extent, still cared for her and gently coaxed her. Wanqing didn’t dare to throw a tantrum at him and readily accepted his attempt to smooth things over.
Just as the atmosphere was beginning to lighten, the doorbell rang.
"I’ll get the door." Wanqing smiled and stepped out.
Upon opening the door, she found her mother, Chen Jinfeng, standing there.
Wanqing imdiately stepped out and carefully closed the door. "Mom, what brought you here? I told you not to co if everything is fine. I’ll visit you when I have ti."
Her mother, clad in simple attire and holding two large bags, responded, "It’s been a month since I last saw you. I was worried you might not be used to eating out, so I brought so dumplings and other food for you. It should last a few days."
Wanqing took the bags and remained silent for a mont.
Her mother fidgeted with her trousers, then peeked around the door and asked in a hushed voice, "Is Young Master Qin here?"
Wanqing hesitated for a mont before nodding.
Her mother looked sowhat reluctant to leave. "Then I’ll be going, dear. Co visit
when you have ti."
Wanqing humd in acknowledgnt and said nothing more.
Her mother knew her status wasn’t appropriate for her to linger. Young Master Qin is such an important figure! she thought.
She quickly departed.
Wanqing watched her mother leave before stepping back inside and quietly placing the food in the kitchen.
No sooner had she put them away than Qin Siyuan erged from his painting room. "Who was it?"
Wanqing shook her head. "Just a delivery person who knocked on the wrong door. Siyuan, would you like so dumplings? I made them yesterday."
"No thanks, I have things to do soon." Qin Siyuan grabbed his car keys. "By the way, didn’t we talk about your mom moving in here? Why hasn’t she?"
Wanqing closed the refrigerator door and smiled. "We did, but she prefers to stay in the dormitory, says it’s closer to work."
Qin Siyuan didn’t say anything more. He had to rush off to his company.
After going downstairs, Wanqing’s mother, Chen Jinfeng, seed sowhat dazed.
She was an uneducated woman who had lost her husband early, with Wanqing as her only daughter.
This child of hers had done well and was favored by Young Master Qin. As a mother, she should have been overjoyed, but sotis, she felt a pang of sadness.
It was difficult for her even to see Wanqing.
Still, as long as her child was doing well, that was all that mattered.
