Chapter 15: Chapter 15: This Doctor is So Handso
Bo Xichen took the X-ray film and glanced at Gu Anxi again. "Who is the patient to you?"
"Family," Gu Anxi replied, which was as good as no reply at all.
Bo Xichen didn’t mind Gu Anxi’s perfunctory attitude, as he already had a detailed file on her on his desk.
He held up the X-ray film. His slender, jade-like fingers, set against the black film, looked even more exquisite and inexplicably noble, exuding an inviolable, ascetic aura.
He carefully examined the film, his ice-blue eyes landing on Gu Anxi’s face.
Gu Anxi asked in a low voice, "Can he wake up?"
Bo Xichen said slowly, "Most of the patient’s nerves are necrotic. With current dical science, a miracle is almost impossible, but the future remains unknown."
Gu Anxi’s face turned sowhat pale.
Mr. Li ca over to ease the tension. "Professor Bo specializes in this research. Perhaps one day there’ll be a breakthrough."
Gu Anxi thanked him softly. She could discern Bo Xichen’s high standing.
Bo Xichen went to see the patient, while Gu Anxi went to handle the hospitalization procedures and paynt.
When she went to pay the deposit, the nurse at the paynt counter said sweetly, "You only need to deposit twenty thousand."
Gu Anxi was stunned. This kind of care should cost over a hundred thousand a month at least. Why only twenty thousand?
The nurse, seeing her confusion, smiled again. "Doctor Bo made special arrangents."
Gu Anxi swiped her card, took her small backpack, and went to the ward.
Pushing the door open, she found Granny Chen speaking with Bo Xichen. Gu Anxi went over and quietly thanked him.
Bo Xichen offered a faint smile, his hands tucked into his white coat pockets. "You two go ahead and talk."
He walked out, Feng Mian following behind. Just before leaving, Feng Mian cast a flirtatious glance at Gu Anxi.
However, as soon as they stepped out, Feng Mian’s expression shifted. He asked in a low voice, "Gu Yuntian will never wake up, will he? Why didn’t you tell her the truth?"
Bo Xichen paused in his stride and glanced at Feng Mian. "Perhaps I felt she wouldn’t be able to accept it all at once."
Unable to accept it? Feng Mian thought. Isn’t Doctor Bo usually a materialist? Since when did he start considering whether the family could cope?
Feng Mian scratched his hair. "Who is this Granny Chen?"
Bo Xichen glared at him. "You’re asking too much."
Feng Mian grumbled inwardly, And I wonder who asked Fengxi to investigate them in the first place.
「In the ward」
Gu Anxi sat next to Granny Chen, remaining silent.
Granny Chen smiled. "Don’t lose hope. There’s still a chance, after all."
Gu Anxi looked down.
Granny Chen’s expression remained kind. "Oh, by the way, that doctor is truly handso. I wonder if he’s married. He looks like he’s not even thirty."
Gu Anxi was exasperated. "Granny Chen, he’s a doctor. Why are you concerned about whether he’s married or not?"
