Zhou Bai recalled the last ti Lin Muqing had flipped out and tried to capture him, and suddenly a thought flashed through his mind, "Could it be... that because I showed my integrity and my unwavering belief in the human camp, she decided to warn ? Could it be that she’s not entirely loyal to the Night Army?"
Zhou Bai still didn’t quite understand the other party’s intention.
On the other side, Lin Muqing had continued to write: "Tomorrow night, southern border, sky corridor."
It seed like the other party was afraid that Zhou Bai hadn’t clearly sensed it, writing it three tis in a row, until Christina’s voice appeared in Zhou Bai’s mind.
Christina: "What are you doing?"
Zhou Bai abruptly withdrew his hand, "You woke up and didn’t say a word, you scared ."
Christina spoke suspiciously: "It was about ti for to take over the lesson this morning, is there a problem with waking up? Why is she holding your hand? What are you two doing?"
On the other side, Lin Muqing said cheerfully: "Speaking of which, I heard that a new convenient passage was recently built. Do you know where it is?"
’Is she testing whether I understood or not?’ Zhou Bai temporarily ignored Christina’s questioning and replied to Lin Muqing, "Hmm, seems to be the sky corridor at the southern border."
"Oh." Lin Muqing smiled, "I still have a class, I’ll go first, you take your ti eating."
Zhou Bai watched her retreating figure and fell into deep thought, then discussed the matter with Christina in his head.
"Ah? Could this be a conspiracy?" Christina wondered, "This could be a plot by the Night Army."
Zhou Bai stroked his chin and said, "Based on the outco of the last ti, without conclusive evidence, even the Night Army wouldn’t dare to randomly capture people in the Dao School. They at least need so evidence, or rather, an excuse." He added, "And by the way, my ti rewind cooldown has already reset, so going to see shouldn’t be a problem."
Just then, another figure sat down in front of Zhou Bai, it was Qian Wangsun.
Qian Wangsun then gave Zhou Bai a aningful look, "Zhou Bai, Zhou Bai, truly, appearances can be deceiving, the sea’s depth unfathomable. No wonder you have no interest in Liu Bingxin. Compared to Liu Bingxin’s flatness, Teacher Lin Muqing is indeed far superior."
Zhou Bai: "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"Nonsense?" Qian Wangsun leaned in closer to Zhou Bai, whispering, "The two of you had your hands entwined together, for several minutes just now, and you’re calling it nonsense?"
As he spoke, Qian Wangsun took a deep breath, "Teacher Lin looks quite serious and mature, yet she has eyes for you? Could the allure of being number one really be that strong? If I beco number one in the future, what then?"
Zhou Bai couldn’t help it and retorted, "What rubbish are you spouting? Are you looking for a beating? Don’t spread rumors, it’s bad for Teacher Lin’s reputation."
"You’re right. I do want to be beaten," Qian Wangsun said excitedly, looking at Zhou Bai, "Damn it, every ti you fight with , you just lie there half-assed. And you sneakily trained Gale Breath Walk so strong?
"Fight , let feel what it’s like to fight the number one of the first realm who can win against the third realm."
At that mont, Zhou Bai heard Christina say, "Let fight him, this guy can’t keep his mouth shut, I’ll show him."
So Zhou Bai went back to sell all the packed food for laziness energy and then handed over his body to Christina.
Half an hour later, Qian Wangsun lay on the ground, his body swollen, but he wasn’t the least bit discouraged. Instead, excitent shone in his eyes, "So fast, really fast. It looks like I’ll have to co up with a tactic specifically to counter soone as swift as you."
Christina shrugged her shoulders, "I’m warning you, don’t go spreading this around, or I’ll beat you up every ti I see you."
"Oh?" A gleam seed to flicker in Qian Wangsun’s eyes, "I was unprepared this ti. Next ti you won’t be able to beat as easily as you did today."
Christina wanted to give Qian Wangsun another good thrashing but then she noticed Ying Hui approaching and gesturing to her, "Zhou Bai, co over here, I’m taking you sowhere today."
Christina followed Ying Hui towards the northeastern corner of the school, and they quickly reached a desolate little building. She felt the ground tremble slightly before starting to descend rapidly.
Ying Hui looked at Zhou Bai’s puzzled face and chuckled, "Zhou Bai, do you know how cultivators used to cultivate before the establishnt of the Four Great Taoist Schools?"
"Breathing in the spirit, sensing the world?" said Christina, "It seems like no matter how one cultivated, there wasn’t any danger, right?"
Hearing Christina’s response, Ying Hui laughed out loud and continued, "What about the sects then? How much do you know about the sects?"
"Sects?" As Christina recalled, she said, "They refer to the organizations ford by like-minded Daoist cultivators before Heavenly Dao beca distorted, right?"
Ying Hui nodded, "Correct. Before the Four Great Taoist Schools were established, sects were the mainstream in the Daoist world. Any cultivator who wanted to go further on the path of cultivation had to join a sect.
Later, for the sake of resource sharing and knowledge sharing, and to fight against the distortion of Heavenly Dao together, the predecessors established the Four Great Taoist Schools. But this doesn’t an that the sects completely disappeared."
Christina nodded, "Mhm, I’ve heard that besides the Four Great Taoist Schools, there are indeed still so sects in existence."
"Those are just minor sects. The real major sects still exist within the Dao Schools," Ying Hui said, "Zhou Bai, do you know why there are Four Great Taoist Schools?"
Christina, "Ah? Isn’t it because these four cities were the only ones left, so the Four Great Taoist Schools were established?"
"That’s only part of the reason." Ying Hui smiled faintly, "The Four Great Taoist Schools represent the four major sects before the distortion of Heavenly Dao. These four great sects are Leiyin Temple, Evil Sect, Jijian Pavilion, and our Qingtian Dao Sect of Donghua Taoist School.
Although everyone wanted to unify the Daoist world to gather collective wisdom to fight against the distortion of Heavenly Dao, so Daoist philosophies were inherently opposed and simply couldn’t be reconciled. The most extrely opposed, with no apparent possibility of convergence yet also the strongest, were these four sects.
Therefore, with these four sects at the core, and combining other sects with similar philosophies, the Four Great Taoist Schools were established. As for those weaker sects that couldn’t fit into the philosophies of the major sects, they either disappeared or exist independently of the Dao Schools, rely struggling to survive.
It’s fair to say that even a hundred years later, the Daoist philosophies of the Four Great Taoist Schools, their teaching thods, and the charts for cultivation are completely different.
They all evolved from the core of the four major sects, integrating the knowledge of countless sects, revising their Daoist techniques to confront the distortion of Heavenly Dao, and compiling their own unique cultivation charts."
Christina curiously asked, "If that’s the case, then how was the Daozang compiled? Wasn’t the Daozang supposed to have been compiled by gathering all of humanity’s Daoist wisdom? Do other Dao Schools use a different Daozang than ours?"
Hearing Christina’s words, a hint of nostalgia flashed in Ying Hui’s eyes, "The Daozang, ah..."
As they spoke, the sinking ground ca to a halt, and a dark passage appeared in front of Zhou Bai and Ying Hui.
With a gentle breeze blowing through the passage, Christina thought she could faintly hear a distant roaring sound.
Ying Hui said, "Let’s go in, we can talk as we walk."
