After mastering Hunter’s Eco Clutch Technique, Jiang Yang enthusiastically reviewed his post-match stats.

To his surprise, he realized that in C rank, most players didn't pay much attention to ECO rounds, often leading to unexpected cobacks. By taking these rounds seriously, Jiang Yang racked up multiple kills and reduced the chances of losing to ECO plays, making the matches feel a lot easier.

“Starting with a win! Looks like today’s a good day for ranking up,” Li Hua comnted. Hearing this, Jiang Yang felt an inexplicable sense of foreboding.

Still, the night was young, so they queued up for another match. The second match loaded quickly, and the map was Inferno.

In the pistol round, Jiang Yang and Li Hua took up defensive positions at B Site, while their three random teammates covered A Site. The match began with a surprise—before they had a chance to act, their teammates had already wiped out the attacking terrorists heading for A.

Opening his mic, Jiang Yang complinted, “Damn, you guys wiped them all out. Couldn’t you at least leave us a little action?” He noticed his “communication” attribute in the system panel and knew the ga encouraged engaging with teammates. Plus, the flawless defense deserved so praise.

The praise went over well;

the teammates, happy to be acknowledged, began chatting and joking around.

In the second round, Jiang Yang bought an MP9, aiming to farm so proficiency for Hunter’s Eco Clutch Technique. Moving efficiently along Banana Path, he took down 2.9 enemies before being eliminated. Li Hua followed up with his trusty CT side spray to finish off the remaining enemies.

In subsequent rounds, despite mixed enemy buys, Jiang Yang continued farming kills with his MP9, earning a satisfying amount of cash. The score climbed to 3-0.

The first rifle round arrived. However, sticking with their existing loadout proved disastrous. The enemies, ard with rifles, crushed Jiang Yang’s team. They lost the next round as well.

It wasn’t until now that they noticed sothing odd—the enemy player with the “Sakurajima Mai” ID wasn’t playing at a typical C rank level. Her chanics were far superior, leaving Li Hua grumbling, “How are we supposed to win against this?”

Even their random teammates were getting frustrated, struggling to deal with her precision and quick kills.

“Don’t worry,” Jiang Yang said thoughtfully. “I’ll save up for an AWP and snipe her down.”

The score eventually reached 4-8, but Jiang Yang finally managed to buy his AWP. When the next round began, he rushed to Banana Path with the sniper rifle. Li Hua, noticing his plan, tossed two flashbangs to support Jiang Yang’s advance.

Charging forward and pulling out his AWP at the wooden plank, Jiang Yang scoped in just in ti to see two terrorists—a close-range enemy near the slab on the left and another by the tree on the right. But just as his flashbang exploded, Jiang Yang’s screen went fully white.

Before the flash hit, Jiang Yang caught enough information to predict the left enemy’s position. While blinded, he flicked his crosshair left and fired before jumping back to safety.

The kill feed lit up:

[“Miss Excellence Is Here, Step Aside” with AWP eliminated “Sakurajima Mai”].

The sight of Sakurajima Mai’s na in the kill feed sent his teammates into an uproar.

“OH!!! She’s down!” one shouted. With her gone, they confidently cleaned up the rest of the round.

After securing several more kills on Banana Path, Jiang Yang’s team’s morale soared. Though the score eventually slipped to 10-14, Jiang Yang’s consistent AWP plays helped them claw back into the ga. His teammates began strategizing around avoiding Sakurajima Mai and isolating the weaker enemies.

Bit by bit, their plan worked, and the score tied at 15-15. When they reached match point, the public chat revealed that Sakurajima Mai had cracked, blaming her teammates for the situation.

In the final round, Sakurajima Mai attempted to retake Banana Path with utility, but Jiang Yang fired a blind shot through smoke—eliminating her completely by chance.

With her gone, Jiang Yang’s team steamrolled B Site, securing the ga 16-14. The team erupted in cheers.

“You’re amazing with the AWP!” Li Hua praised.

“Bro, add as a friend!” one of the random teammates chid in.

They all agreed to queue together again, but as Jiang Yang exited the client, he noticed Ma Xixi sitting behind him. She had apparently watched the entire ga.

“That’s the magic of CS:GO,” Ma Xixi said with a smile. “The adrenaline, the teamwork—that’s why I love this ga so much.”

Jiang Yang laughed. “I’m starting to fall for it too.”

After seeing Jiang Yang’s sniping, Ma Xixi grew more curious about his talent. “You’ve only been playing for about 70 hours, right? But the way you’re handling the AWP… it’s incredible.”

She returned to her PC, fired up CS:GO, and queued for a ga, inspired by Jiang Yang’s performance. However, an hour later, staring at her 6-23 K/D, she began to wonder:

“What on earth went wrong?”
