Worthless trash.

That was a harsh label. In any normal school, a teacher saying sothing like that would have serious consequences.

But in a school where a student's worth was asured by their ability, it sounded perfectly reasonable.

After all, given the way Class D had acted in their first month, they hardly deserved to be called "valuable."

"But... but Chabashira-sensei, we don't rember ever being told about this!"

Hirata was still trying to push through the pressure and explain the situation to Chabashira-sensei, hoping to negotiate for a "lighter punishnt."

"If we had known from the start that our points would decrease, I'm sure everyone in class would have followed the rules and paid attention in class."

"Exactly! Putting the facts aside, don't you think you also made a mistake, sensei? We're the victims here too!"

With Hirata stepping up, Ike imdiately followed, shouting loudly to stir up the rest of the class, trying to pressure Chabashira-sensei into giving in.

Pfft!

Sitting in the back, Hikigaya almost burst out laughing at this monkey's words. Luckily, he reacted in ti, covering his mouth so no one would notice.

Putting the facts aside?

If you're not even talking about the facts, what else is there to talk about? Are you stupid? Do you really think this kind of childish argunt and lousy attempt at persuasion will work?

Chabashira-sensei completely ignored Ike's outburst, not even sparing him a glance.

Hikigaya had a feeling she was taking this chance to settle a personal grudge, but he had no proof.

On the other hand, Hirata's argunt sounded reasonable, but in reality, it was just twisting things around.

Sure, the school and Chabashira-sensei might have deliberately kept things from them, but this wasn't sothing you could just brush off with an "if only." What really should be questioned was how the school intentionally let things slide for the students. Unfortunately, Hirata hadn't realized that.

By now, Hikigaya understood that the school's so-called "freedom" was actually a test of self-discipline for the first-year students. And judging by how D-Class had perford, they had completely failed.

"If only?"

Chabashira-sensei almost laughed at Hirata's words—more out of frustration than amusent.

"I can't believe a 16-year-old high school student is using such a ridiculous excuse. Sure, I never explained the rules of private points. But tell , do high school students really need to be reminded to follow basic classroom rules?

Did no one teach you common sense in elentary or middle school? Do you also need soone to remind you to walk on the crosswalk and stop at a red light? And if you get into an accident, are you going to bla others for not telling you to follow traffic laws?"

"I..."

The students were completely speechless, many lowering their heads in embarrassnt. Hirata opened his mouth but couldn't say a word.

"I thought you would at least reflect on your mistakes, but I didn't expect you all to be this pathetic."

Chabashira-sensei's frustration grew stronger.

"Instead of taking responsibility, your first reaction is to make excuses and push the bla onto soone else. How fitting for the worst class, D-Class. Honestly, I'm ashad to be your horoom teacher. You're nothing but defective products."

Hikigaya completely agreed with Chabashira-sensei.

The school might have hidden the truth under the guise of "testing self-discipline," and whether that was right or wrong was up for debate.

But the real issue was that D-Class had failed not because of the school's setup, but because they were simply too weak.

"Sensei... What do you an by defective products?"

Hirata's voice trembled as he asked. Horikita also looked shocked, as if she had heard that term sowhere before.

Chabashira-sensei took a deep breath, calming herself down. Then, she walked to the blackboard and stuck a poster onto it. Looking at the confused students below, she said:

"What I said earlier was just a minor issue. Now, let's get to the real topic of this horoom session."

A-Class: 940

B-Class: 650

C-Class: 490

D-Class: 0

Hikigaya took one look at the numbers and instantly understood.

As expected, class points were directly linked to the private points they received each month.

And as for how class points increased or decreased, it was obviously connected to what Chabashira-sensei had just ntioned—student behavior and discipline.

Because D-Class had terrible discipline, they had been losing points the entire ti.

What started as 1,000 class points had been completely wiped out in just one month!

Chabashira-sensei's explanation that followed only confird what Hikigaya had suspected about the true nature of this school.

Sure enough, many students started arguing, unwilling to accept the reality.

Since D-Class had zero points, that ant they would get no private points at all from now on.

Ike and Yamauchi were the loudest in their protests since they had already spent almost all their points.

Other students, like Karuizawa, Sudou, and Hondou, had turned completely pale, knowing they were in the sa situation.

"At this point, you still think a high school student can spend 100,000 yen a month with no limits?"

Chabashira-sensei's words sent chills through the entire class.

"This is a governnt-run school ant to train exceptional students. Even using basic common sense, you should've realized sothing was off. So why didn't you? Oh, wait—my bad. I forgot. You guys don't even have common sense."

Hikigaya almost laughed at the sarcastic tone.

Who knew Chabashira-sensei had such a great sense of humor?

But while he found it funny, the rest of D-Class found her words incredibly harsh.

Horikita, who had been in shock, suddenly turned and stared at a certain dead-eyed boy beside her.

"Sensei, since class points are this important, could you at least tell us exactly how they increase and decrease?"

Realizing there was no way to undo the damage, Hirata quickly tried to find a way to fix things.

Chabashira-sensei rejected the request without hesitation.

"This is the school's policy. Just like performance evaluations, the specific review rules are confidential. Get it? Even when you enter society, not all rules will be laid out for you. In fact, sotis not knowing the rules is part of the rule itself. It's the sa here at this school."

She paused for a mont, looking at so of the students below.

"You might think I'm picking on you, but this is just the reality. This rule applies to the entire grade."

"But among all the bad news, there is one piece of good news—though only for you."

Seeing the glimr of hope on so students' faces, Chabashira-sensei's lips curled into a faint smile.

"The good news is... congratulations. You don't have to worry about losing any more points—because once your points hit zero, they can't go any lower. In other words... from now on, you can be late, skip class, sleep through lessons, and play on your phone all you want. Sounds great, right? What a student paradise!"
