At first, she thought Ayanokouji's five-day suspension was Hikigaya's final goal. But after what he had her do last night, and today's conflict between Class D and Class B, she realized she had completely misjudged his intentions.

"What was that last part? I didn't catch it. Can you repeat it for ?"
"I said you guys always think with the wrong head!" Kushida snapped.
She didn't even realize how jealous she sounded.
Hikigaya, on the other hand, was already used to her snide remarks.
"If you ask , Sudou is probably the most pitiful one. He's the reason all of this started, yet now hardly anyone even rembers what happened to him. His suspension, basketball—none of it seems to matter anymore."
Speaking of Sudou, Kushida suddenly thought of sothing else.
"Did you also plan for Ike and Yamauchi to get involved?"
To her, Sudou's situation was his own fault.
But Ike and Yamauchi?
Those two idiots had completely brought it upon themselves.
Still, she was curious if the guy sitting across from her had expected this outco.

Hikigaya shook his head.
"I was surprised they got dragged in too. Guess they were just unlucky."

It was Nagumo Miyabi, one of the two student council vice presidents from Class 2-A.

Nagumo rarely showed up at the student council office, and the only tis they ever saw each other were during the monthly etings.

Then, he turned back to Hikigaya with a smirk.
"From my experience, I'd say that junior of yours is still pretty innocent. You better not let soone else snatch her up first."
Hikigaya frowned slightly.
"Vice President Nagumo, don't you think this kind of talk is a bit inappropriate coming from a student council mber?"
"Heh, what's appropriate or not doesn't really matter. If soone has a problem with it, they're welco to co complain to ."
Nagumo looked completely unconcerned.
"Besides, I was just joking. No need to take it so seriously. Unlike the president, you should try relaxing a little. If you actually blend in with the students, you'll understand their needs better. And then you can... serve them more effectively, don't you think?"
His voice was light and playful, but there was no mistaking the arrogance in his tone.
It was the confidence of soone who looked down on everyone else.
"So, Vice President Nagumo, is there sothing work-related you wanted to talk about?"
Hikigaya had already sensed that Nagumo had co with a purpose.
So instead of beating around the bush, he got straight to the point.
