The young officer led the two n to the report room, where they t a woman crying profusely. She claid it had been more than four hours since her husband left ho to get a few things for them, but he hadn't returned. She had called his phone several tis, but he never answered, so she ca to report to the cops.

Sergeant Kim asked for the husband's picture, and the woman brought it out from her phone. When the two n looked at it, they stared at each other for a few seconds before saying a single word together:

"Damn."

They both exclaid, making the woman, as well as other officers, look at them. Nᴇw novel chapters are publɪshed on NoveI~Fire

"Tell … did you guys know sothing? Tell now!!!" she scread, almost grabbing Sergeant Kim by the collar, if not for the young officer who quickly dragged her back, holding her in place.

For a minute, there was silence, with Sergeant Kim and Inspector Ray staring at the picture closely. It was the sa older man they had seen in the video they just watched—the man Snowflake had killed.

"Madam, can you take us to your house?" Sergeant Kim asked, and the woman nodded almost absentmindedly. With the cops' reaction, she knew they knew sothing. She didn't need to be told her husband was dead.

"Boys, let's go. We have no ti to waste," Sergeant Kim commanded as several officers got ready.

"Send a ssage to headquarters. Tell them we need a convoy of the elite anti-criminal squad right away. We're raiding the city. Snowflake must be caught tonight," Inspector Ray also commanded, and the officers wasted no ti sending the ssage.

As they rushed outside, Sergeant Kim leaned over and whispered into Ray's ear.

"What are you doing?"

Inspector Ray raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Preparing to catch Snowflake, of course."

Sergeant Kim didn't press the matter and continued moving forward.

When they got to the woman's house, they were surprised to find it just a few steps away from the street where the man had been killed. The street was exactly as they had seen it in the video. It was already midnight, so everywhere was eerily silent.

They asked the woman what her husband was doing outside so late at night, and she said he had quickly gone to get drugs at the pharmacy for their child. She was also asked several other questions.

When they searched the area, they found the drugs the man had bought. The mont the woman saw them, she collapsed instantly. She knew her husband was dead. Sergeant Kim ordered her to be taken away.

They continued searching the area for the man's corpse but found nothing.

"Sir, we found sothing," a young officer reported.

Both Kim and Ray rushed after him and found themselves in front of a small building that appeared to have been broken into.

"Now, what explanation do you have for this? I told you he was caught unaware," Inspector Ray comnted as they walked into the building.

It was the room where the footage from the street's CCTV caras was stored. It had been broken into. Inside, they found the dead body of a worker, with a symbol of a hamr crossing over a spanner crudely sketched on his chest.

Sergeant Kim's eyes widened in horror.

"This… is Snowflake," he muttered, his hand trembling.

Inspector Ray suppressed the urge to laugh in front of the young officers.

"Now can you see it yourself? I told you he never knew a cara was there. He found it too late and killed this man to erase the footage," he said with amusent.

The young officers were confused, as they knew nothing about the video.

Now it clicked in Sergeant Kim's mind: it must have been the worker who had sent the video anonymously, terrified of death. But Snowflake had still found out about the cara and killed him. Rage boiled inside him.

"Scatter the boys around the area. Search every corner of every street. Send another ssage to headquarters—we need a full squad. We're catching Snowflake tonight!" Sergeant Kim commanded angrily.

Inspector Ray chuckled.

"I already ordered them to contact headquarters."

---

"You'll start complaining that the job failed because of my incompetence. Now look who failed us," Inspector Ray said, frustrated.

"How did I fail you? I gave the command that the city should be raided. How is it my fault that we still never got him?" Sergeant Kim retorted, his blood boiling.

"You gave the command too late. If only you had done it imdiately after we saw the video."

Despite a citywide raid, they never found Snowflake or Uche, whom they believed to be Snowflake. Not even a glimpse of him was caught. Morning ca, the sun shining brightly, and still, they hadn't found him.

They had searched everywhere throughout the night and were still searching. Checkpoints had been set up all over the city, stopping every car and person passing by. Still, nothing.

"Our n are everywhere all over the city, looking for him. So we haven't failed our job. He will co out eventually," a senior officer from headquarters said, trying to ease the tension between the two.

And just as the man finished speaking, another officer rushed over to them a little later. She brought out a phone and imdiately played a video for them.

"You'll want to see this, sirs," she said.

Clearly written on the video was: *Breaking News.*

In the footage, a young woman reported that a statue had been found on a street that morning, questioning why the cops hadn't gotten there yet. The video continued with the reporter asking people their opinions on what this corpse statue—known as the Corpse Art—was supposed to an. Was the person behind it trying to send a ssage to the governnt or to certain tycoons?

The video briefly showed the statue before the cara moved away.

Inspector Ray grabbed the phone from the female officer and angrily smashed it on the floor.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck it all! This is getting on my nerves!" he shouted in frustration.

"That bastard is toying with us," Sergeant Kim muttered, his voice shaky as blood dripped from his nose.

The other officers slowly looked away, and Inspector Ray ordered a dozen of them to get into the car with him and Sergeant Kim to move to the area where the statue had been found.

They arrived a few minutes later, cleared the area, and took the corpse away for examination. They also found Snowflake's signature on it.
