Asher stood in silence as he stared at the sky. He took in a deep breath as the airport staff moved back and forth. He sighed with a shake of his head before turning and walking towards his car. Although he was now alone, FatelessPen had left a clone behind, setting the condition that the clone would vanish once Asher was reunited with his family.
Asher got into the car, with the driver sitting in the passenger seat as Asher drove, while FatelessPen’s clone occupied the back seat. Within a couple of minutes, he arrived at the Awakener Association skyscraper as he drove at high speed, pushing the car’s engine and horsepower to their limits.
Stepping into the building, security didn’t bother searching him or going through the normal protocols. They simply notified the Wargraves that the Tenth Sun was ing, then gestured towards the elevator and allowed him to head to the top floor.
With a ding, the elevator doors opened, and Asher stepped into what seemed to be a penthouse. Every Wargrave was already standing there, their eyes turning towards him as various grins and smiles appeared on their faces. But they weren’t the only ones present. The family members of Baron Rivelle, Baron Canestane, and Baron Whale were also there.
Normally, Rachael would have run to Asher’s side, but with her parents and the other nobles present, she knew to behave and maintain proper noble etiquette. Asher’s eyes moved towards the Rivelle siblings. He simply nodded in their direction as he stepped out of the elevator.
"Look who finally decided to show his face," Wuthenya, the Second Moon, spoke with a light smile as he approached Asher, ruffling his hair.
Asher could only sigh as he began arranging the hair he had already fixed earlier once again.
"There was simply no time, as I’ve been stuck at the Gentle Hotel," Asher replied with a sigh.
The twins, the Third Sun, Xavian, and the Third Moon, Xavienne, also walked forward as they spoke. "You made us proud, Youngest."
Both of them said the exact same thing at the exact same moment, as though they shared one brain and one consciousness. Asher could never get used to this, no matter how many times he witnessed it.
"How about a spar once we return? It should be fun," the Third Sun, Xavian, spoke as heat started to rise from his body while he stared at Asher with a grin, looking ready to pull out his hammer and begin right there.
Asher smiled as he replied, "Looking forward to it, Brother."
He didn’t reject the idea. He genuinely wanted to see how strong his siblings truly were.
With that, the Wargrave Suns and Moons gathered around him as they spoke with smiles on their faces. Seeing Asher possess such overwhelming bat power and might had left them stunned and filled with admiration.
"I can’t help but look forward to the day when you and Brother Malrik fight. You have to grow stronger and bless our eyes with such a sight," the Eighth Moon, Olivia, stated with a smirk.
Her eyes shifted from Asher towards Malrik, who was standing at the other end of the living room. She winked at him, but Malrik simply rolled his eyes at his sister and said nothing.
"So, tell us, what is your real affinity? Star? Sun? Moon? Nebula? All of them? Are you hiding even more affinities?" the Seventh Moon, Mary, asked as she fired off question after question, unable to hold back her curiosity.
Asher couldn’t help but sigh. These family members of his didn’t look like people who were preparing for a battle. Instead, they all talked and laughed as though nothing in the world could ever shake them.
Luckily, before Asher could speak, the First Elder, Frank Wargrave, stepped forward and spoke. "Allow the Youngest to breathe. We can ask all the questions we want when we get back home."
He patted Asher on the shoulder and gave him a light smile and a nod. With that, he gently pushed Asher a little further forward in Azaron’s direction.
That had been Asher’s goal from the very beginning. He wanted to speak with Azaron.
Seeing the Wargraves laugh, smile, and behave like ordinary people, Baron Canestane, Baron Rivelle, and Baron Whale simply stood rooted to the spot like outsiders, able to do nothing but watch. It was a scene that the world would never witness unless they were around the Wargraves or in their pany.
Asher smiled as he walked towards Azaron, who wore a simple white shirt and the same expressionless face as always. Without saying a word, Azaron turned and started walking, with Asher following right behind him.
"It seems you’ve grown even stronger than I anticipated, youngest," he spoke, a faint smile finally appearing across his face. "It seems that when I said you might need two decades to reach my current level, I might have been wrong," he added. "But alas, I can’t give a clear timeline because, as you grow stronger, I’m also growing stronger," he mused.
Asher smiled as he walked. He remembered telling Azaron that the man might not have to wait decades. But when he had made that statement, he hadn’t considered the certainty of Azaron continuing to grow stronger as well. After all, Azaron possessed talent surpassed only by people like Arianna, Asher, and Malrik. Everyone else was beneath him.
There was no way a man with such monstrous talent wouldn’t bee even stronger a few years from now. In fact, who was to say that Azaron wasn’t already stronger at this very moment than he had been a couple of months ago, when Asher had last seen him?
"I’m glad I exceeded your expectations, Father," Asher replied happily.
He could also sense Azaron’s emotions. The man was overflowing with intense happiness, ecstasy, and joy, to the point that Asher briefly wondered whether a Positive Emovira might actually be born from such overwhelming emotions.
"Although you said you wanted blood for your healing, I will still add ten million platinum coins to that," Azaron smirked as he spoke.
He had won billions from Asher’s fights, then gained even more billions when the head of the Elox Family pensated everyone who had placed bets. Azaron was overflowing with wealth. Ten million platinum coins was practically nothing to him.
Asher froze for a moment. He wondered just how much ten million platinum coins translated to in dollars. A billion dollars? He had no idea. But he certainly wasn’t going to plain. He would accept the money with open arms.
"Much appreciated," he stated as a wide smile appeared on his face.
’At least I don’t have to pay taxes on the winnings from the bets’ Azaron mused to himself.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" he asked as he snapped out of his thoughts, already knowing that Asher wanted to ask him or tell him something.
