Chapter 552: More Dangerous
Asher sighed as all these thoughts circulated in his mind, but at the sa ti, he did not judge, he was not one that judged people for their life choices, besides, these people might as well be ntally ill. But none of that was his business, his mission remained to save and wipe out these people, nothing more, nothing less.
With that thought, he turned and walked towards the door which he had entered this chamber from, as usual, he phased through it, his purple gaze shifting towards his left side as he watched these six n discuss amongst one another with various expressions on their faces. Their composure was calm, their behavior casual, as though what they had just done was routine and unremarkable.
Without wasting any more ti, Asher walked forward as he headed towards the next door, this door had the exact sa design as the door leading to the human organ inventory, identical in structure and appearance, revealing consistency in design and purpose.
Asher phased through the door, his mind hardening as he prepared himself for whatever horror he might see, his thoughts churning with guesses, but the mont he stepped into the room and his purple eyes danced through the room’s contents, Asher could not help but pause, his mind blank. His expectations had prepared him for sothing disturbing, but what he saw was sothing else entirely, sothing that required a mont for him to properly comprehend.
This room was another organ inventory, it had the sa jars and containers as the room he had just left, ’they have more than one organ inventory?’ Asher thought to himself, but the next mont, his brows knitted as his face frowned. The existence of multiple inventories suggested scale, organization, and preparation, revealing that this operation was far larger than it initially appeared.
This room seed like the exact replica of the room he had just left, but it was not, it contained organs, like brains, kidneys, livers, but that was just on the surface, the mont Asher looked closer, he knew what this room was made of; the organs of Emovirae.
The realization ca imdiately once he paid attention to the details, the subtle differences impossible to ignore once recognized.
Even as they were locked in containers and jars, Asher could still feel the thin and subtle malice that radiated off the organs, he had missed it at first, as the containers seed to suppress it, but he could feel it clearly now. The energy was faint but present, restrained but undeniable, lingering within the preserved flesh like a dormant echo.
Besides, although Emovirae possessed organs that were essential for living like the heart, kidney, and the rest, it was still very much different from human organs.
The Emovirae organs were much larger, darker, stronger, and more twisted. Their structure carried unnatural density, their appearance reflecting their inhuman nature. Asher’s eye shifted to the side, and there he could see an entire arm of an Emovira, and other various limbs, even claws, tails, they were all kept and stored with labels. Each item was preserved carefully, organized deliberately, treated as valuable resources rather than discarded remains.
Asher’s thoughts churned as the danger of this organization spiked within his mind. It might have been "normal" if they only kept human organs, but Emovirae organs? Now that was another level entirely. This was no longer simple organ harvesting, this was sothing far more extensive, far more dangerous, and far more deliberate.
’What do they even need this for?’ Asher thought to himself with a frown, ’if they are harvesting organs from Emovirae, then it ans they have a chamber where the Emovirae were caged and held, just like how the villagers and the Adventurers were held,’ Asher thought to himself. The conclusion ford naturally, supported by logic and observation.
But at that thought, he had not seen any such chamber, the floor above had only two rooms, the one holding the villagers and the one containing the mbers of this organization. Although Asher had not explored this ground floor completely, he did not believe this organization would hold the Emovirae on this floor, as this floor seed dedicated to the harvesting and storage of organs rather than containnt.
’Where could they be held?’ Asher’s thoughts spun, but the next mont, he paused, his eyes falling to the ground under his feet, ’underground?’ he thought to himself as that seed to make more sense, obviously Emovirae were anything but docile, even if they were caged, they would still roar and make commotion, it would be best if they were sealed underneath where their presence could be concealed and controlled.
Asher did not dare to imdiately go there, he knew it was best to investigate this floor first before he went to any underground bunker, besides, since there were people guarding and watching the villager prisoners, then obviously there would also be a group of people watching the Emovirae, and since the Emovirae were strong and powerful, those that were watching over the Emovirae held in captivity were probably stronger than the guards above.
’But where can the underground bunker be accessed from?’ Asher thought to himself, he did not want to simply phase through the ground and enter sowhere unknown. Asher was not naive enough to believe that soone powerful was not leading this operation, or at least guarding it.
Could they be at the Crownstar Life Rank? Voidstar? Soulstar? Wavestar? The possibility of encountering soone at those ranks significantly increased the danger of the mission.
The more Asher thought about it the more dangerous the situation beca, ’this is becoming more and more dangerous, it seems I might have to call for help,’ Asher thought to himself. But, he would not call for help just yet, just because he had Malrik’s talisman did not an he would call the man at the slightest inconvenience.
If it was like that, then he would have called Malrik when Blue first appeared. So, no, he would confirm the situation, and if it was sothing he could not handle, he would not play around with his life and would imdiately call for backup. He was cautious, but not reckless.
Asher sighed, he had co for a mission that would push him to the edge, but this edge seed too extre, this particular edge seed like the end of the cliff itself, but at the sa ti, a smile could not help but appear on his lips, the more dangerous it was, the more engaging it beca. Challenge brought clarity, and danger sharpened his focus.
’As for how to get to the underground bunker, since those six people ca to keep various human organs, it ans either they or another team would soon co here to also fill up this particular inventory with Emovirae organs,’ Asher thought to himself, but he knew that, that was only if they had not already ca and left earlier before his own arrival.
’Best to leave a photon clone here, if anything happens, it would imdiately inform ,’ Asher thought to himself, and with a thought, light photons in the air bent to his will under the manipulation of his Star Energy, the mont the photon clone was ford, it imdiately went invisible and simply stood there, waiting silently, observing without interference.
Although Asher himself could have waited, he did not want to waste too much ti, who knew how many hours he would waste if he simply waited without taking any other action.
