Qiao Rui didn’t expect Pei Liyan to return, descending like a savior at just the right mont.

Pei Liyan glanced at her and spoke with concern, "Are you alright?"

"I’m not dead yet." Qiao Rui chuckled and said, "Even if you didn’t co, I could’ve dealt with them myself."

Pei Liyan was both angry and anxious inside. Did she think she was invincible, capable of handling whoever ca her way?

If it were a battle of attrition, no matter how good her stamina was or how swift her movents were, it would be difficult to handle so many opponents.

Pei Liyan couldn’t help but grow increasingly worried, feeling both helpless and concerned for this stubborn girl.

His moves beca even more ruthless, and within monts, he had knocked the n to the ground with a few punches and kicks.

Fang Mo soon joined in, and in an instant, the three of them had toppled over a dozen n to the floor.

"Mr. Qiao," Pei Liyan directed his gaze to Qiao Junxian, his deep eyes dark with intensity. "What is the aning of this?"

Qiao Junxian hadn’t expected Pei Liyan to show up.

But even if Pei Liyan hadn’t co today, it seed that these dozen n wouldn’t have gained much ground—he hadn’t expected Qiao Rui to be this formidable.

He chuckled awkwardly and said, "Liyan, this is an internal affair of the Qiao Family and doesn’t concern you. If you want to know why, you can ask Qiao Rui."

"It doesn’t matter why. If you touch one of mine, you’re my enemy." Pei Liyan’s face was frosted over.

Qiao Junxian froze, his heart flinching slightly, his dark and murky gaze betraying a hint of impatience. "She openly confronted today, her elder. Naturally, I wouldn’t let it slide. What I disciplined was a descendant of the Qiao Family—it has nothing to do with you."

"Apparently, you don’t understand my words." Pei Liyan’s expression shifted slightly, his chiseled face showing no excess emotion.

Qiao Rui spoke up at this mont, "Why bother wasting your words on him? Just take him down and talk later."

Her words startled Qiao Junxian, who instinctively stepped back.

The action was inexplicably amusing.

Qiao Rui couldn’t help but burst out laughing. "Uncle, aren’t you supposed to be fearless? Co on, your niece will spare a few moves with you!"

Qiao Junxian stepped back again.

Qiao Rui smiled helplessly. "Uncle, if you dare to provoke, you’d better be able to handle it. Stop retreating."

"You, what do you want?"

"Apologize or get beaten up. Your choice," Qiao Rui said firmly.

Qiao Junxian was startled. "You want to apologize?"

"What else?" Qiao Rui retorted.

"You, you’re disrespecting your elders."

"Replacing you was a decision made by your father. Now, who’s disrespecting the elders? Besides, what kind of elder are you, really?"

"You, you... I won’t stoop to your level."

"You certainly shouldn’t have provoked either." Qiao Rui stepped forward slightly. "Believe it or not, you brought people here to provoke, and I could have you detained today?"

Qiao Junxian’s face darkened, but he said no more.

At this mont, Pei Liyan spoke in a low voice, "Apologize publicly."

Qiao Junxian glanced at Pei Liyan with a complex expression. Sure enough, he was now fond of Qiao Rui, this infuriating girl.

From feigning unattractiveness to revealing her beauty—her scheming mind had deceived them all.

"Liyan, Qiao Rui is too cunning. Don’t be fooled by her. Be careful; she’s using you." Qiao Junxian sneered.

Qiao Rui laughed in exasperation. "Uncle, then why don’t you use him too?"

"See? She admitted it herself—she’s using you." Qiao Junxian seized the opportunity to twist her words. "You heard it. I’m not fabricating, am I?"

Pei Liyan smiled faintly and said, "I’m willing to be used by her."

Qiao Junxian’s eyes widened in disbelief. "You, you, you’re ridiculous."

"Apologize," Pei Liyan ordered coldly.

By now, many people had gathered downstairs.

Qiao Junxian scanned the previous staff mbers, but not a single one spoke up for him.

His brows furrowed sharply, rage flashing in his eyes.

Yet no one said a word on his behalf.

Under the pressure exerted by Pei Liyan and Qiao Rui, Qiao Junxian had no choice but to apologize: "I was wrong today. I shouldn’t have acted impulsively and brought people to cause trouble."

Hearing his apology, Qiao Rui was montarily stunned—she hadn’t expected him to do so.

Indeed, as people age, they beco much more attuned to recognizing the situation.

He was far more adept at restraint compared to Qiao Xiang.

"Uncle, with this realization, I won’t hold it against you. Let’s leave it at that." Qiao Rui smiled calmly, generously waving her hand. "Everyone, disperse now."

Pei Liyan saw her decision to let the matter rest and only shot a cold glance at Qiao Junxian, his intense gaze sharp as a blade.

As he passed by Qiao Junxian, Pei Liyan whispered, "Next ti, I’ll make you regret it for the rest of your life."

Qiao Junxian was struck dumb. He hadn’t expected such a threat.

He stood there, dazed, watching Pei Liyan and Qiao Rui walk toward the Qiao Family’s building together.

Fang Mo took the opportunity to sweep his gaze over the crowd, seemingly morizing everyone’s faces before snapping a quick photo and leaving.

Qiao Rui glanced back at Pei Liyan and asked, "Why did you co back so early today?"

"Since there wasn’t much left to handle, I returned. Besides, knowing you were coming to the Qiao Family today, I wasn’t at ease. I ca to take a look," Pei Liyan replied solemnly.

Qiao Rui felt slightly flattered. "So, you ca back early for , huh? That’s truly an honor, Mr. Pei."

"You ungrateful brat. If you were truly thankful, you wouldn’t be this infuriating," Pei Liyan muttered, both worried and helpless. This girl constantly took his goodwill for granted.

"No way!" Qiao Rui chuckled. "I’m grateful to you from the bottom of my heart."

"You better an it." The man’s gaze lingered deeply on Qiao Rui.

Seeing her slightly disheveled hair, he reached out to smooth it, tidying up her appearance.

Qiao Rui imdiately pushed his hand down and said, "Be dignified in public, Mr. Pei. After all, this is the Qiao Family."

"Nonsense." Pei Liyan didn’t care at all. "Whoever wants to look can look. I’m not doing anything inappropriate."

Qiao Rui was speechless. "Alright, you’re the boss, you’re amazing, you can do whatever you want."

Only then did Pei Liyan soften his gaze and ask, "Tell , are you hurt?"

The mont he brought it up, Qiao Rui frowned. Her back stung fiercely from getting punched earlier—it hadn’t been light.

"You’re hurt?" Pei Liyan noticed her silence and imdiately sensed sothing amiss. He reached out to check, but Qiao Rui quickly pulled his hand down.

"It’s nothing. My back got hit, but it’s fine." Qiao Rui looked at him and said, "Since you’re here to back up, let’s go upstairs together. Join in savoring the feeling of taking over soone’s territory."

Pei Liyan’s brows furrowed tightly, still worried about Qiao Rui’s injury. Not knowing the severity of it, he couldn’t relax his tension.

Seeing him maintain such a stern face, as if the world owed him sothing, Qiao Rui couldn’t help but laugh. "Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious. Trust , I’m tough—it’s no big deal."

Pei Liyan’s expression remained cold. "Your attitude doesn’t inspire much confidence in ."
