Pei Liyan’s reminder startled Qiao Rui, as she thought back to the last ti she drank at the Television Arts Festival. Even though she had only had a light drink, she had been drugged.

And as a result, she had a one-night affair with Pei Liyan, and to this day, the person who had drugged her still hadn’t been found.

Now, Pei Liyan was actually reminding her to be cautious, probably genuinely concerned about her drinking too much and encountering danger, especially since the Chen Family was still on high alert.

She gave Pei Liyan a faint smile, "Don’t worry, I won’t drink much, just a taste."

"Have you drunk alcohol before?" Pei Liyan asked.

"Yes."

Qiao Rui had not just drunk alcohol; she had an astonishing capacity for it.

This, naturally, she could not reveal to him.

Seeing how worried Pei Liyan was about Qiao Rui, Song Xun felt both admiration and a sigh of regret, "Brother Pei, here on Ludao, with Brother Lu’s people around, it is very safe for Sister-in-law. Today you can relax a bit, just be more careful when drinking tomorrow."

Lu Heming also nodded slightly in agreent, "Yes, President Pei, MIster, I guarantee my life for Mrs.’s safety on Ludao."

"Brother Song, Heming," Pei Liyan answered with a light smile. "I’m afraid she’ll go crazy when she drinks too much!"

Qiao Rui humphed to herself. She wouldn’t act crazy when drunk, but his reminder now gave her the idea of stealing so courage from the liquor.

Qiao Rui blinked her bright eyes lively, letting her long eyelashes fall to hide the spirited thoughts in her gaze.

Pei Liyan caught a glimpse of Qiao Rui, and his sharp eyes easily captured the upturned corner of the girl’s lips.

This girl, always up to so mischief.

Though he hadn’t known her for very long, he had co to understand her quite well.

Qiao Rui was not a girl who was truly well-behaved.

She was full of cunning thoughts.

God knows what mischief she was pondering.

"Qiao Rui, go ahead and drink, today we won’t leave Ludao, and you can rest well after dinner," Pei Liyan spoke.

Qiao Rui was astonished. Not drinking much, resting well, it seed to carry a certain implication; she definitely couldn’t drink too much.

She looked up and smiled, "I can’t drink much either, I’ll just have one with you guys."

She insisted on drinking as a basic respect for dining etiquette.

Regardless of the relationship between Song Xun and Muyu, and although she felt so aversion to Song Xun because of Muyu, as Pei Liyan’s wife, she ought to show so gesture.

It was the most basic courtesy.

And then there was Lu Heming.

It was said that Lu Heming was also one of Pei Liyan’s n, and he was known to be a very loyal and capable person.

Qiao Rui raised her glass, "I toast to Mr. Song and Mr. Lu, thank you for your hospitality."

With that, she lifted the wine glass and drank nearly half of it in one gulp.

Pei Liyan asked, "Is the fruit wine delicious?"

Qiao Rui glanced over, saying, "You could have a taste, I think it’s just like fruit juice."

"Looks like Sister-in-law usually drinks stronger alcohol, huh?" Song Xun inferred from Qiao Rui’s words that she must be accustod to drinking substantially.

Soone who has never drunk alcohol before would generally find fruit wine quite strong.

But Qiao Rui said it was like fruit juice, clearly a sign of an experienced drinker.

Qiao Rui just smiled and didn’t respond.

The alcohol she had drunk before was the real, aged cellar wine, fernted for many years, fragrant, potent, and with a lingering aftertaste.

This fruit wine was too light, with no real taste of alcohol; it was like drinking soda.

Pei Liyan also watched Qiao Rui discreetly.

Seeing this, Lu Heming tily intervened, "Does Sister-in-law want to try so white liquor?"

Qiao Rui shook her head. "No, thanks, you drink, I don’t have much of a capacity for alcohol, I’ll get drunk if I drink any more."

Song Xun smiled slightly, and Pei Liyan tugged at his lips, and although he didn’t say anything, the atmosphere obviously relaxed a lot.

Perhaps because of Qiao Rui’s presence, they didn’t delve into too many topics.

After all, with a woman present, both n were quite restrained and took care to mind their speech.

The taste of the green plum wine was excellent—Qiao Rui had three glasses and was a little unsatisfied.

But Pei Liyan served her a bowl of lotus seed soup instead.

Qiao Rui glanced at him, obediently drank the soup, and felt a warm comfort enveloping her heart and lungs.

Knowing that the n had things to discuss, she looked at Si Ran, then to Pei Liyan, Song Xun, and Lu Heming, saying, "I’m full now, seeing as you have matters to talk about, I won’t interfere with your n’s conversation. I’ll go out for a walk with Si Ran."

Si Ran was nad and looked surprised, then imdiately turned to Pei Liyan.

At this point, Qiao Rui glanced at Fang Mo standing on the side and said, "Let Fang Mo protect us; we’ll go out for a walk."

Pei Liyan nodded. "Go on, then!"

Thus, Qiao Rui took the two of them out of the private luxury room.

Song Xun sighed again, "The sister-in-law is really considerate!"

Pei Liyan was actually a bit surprised as well, but he hadn’t intended to talk business at the table and affect digestion.

But with Qiao Rui gone, and since they had almost finished eating and drinking, it was ti to discuss matters.

"Missis has a heart with all seven orifices clear," Lu Heming expressed with high regard. "She took Fang Mo and Si Ran with her, probably because she noticed that they hadn’t eaten until now, and is likely taking them out for a al."

Pei Liyan was taken aback; he hadn’t thought of that, but when Lu Heming brought it up, it occurred to him.

Indeed, as soon as Qiao Rui left the room, she imdiately said to Si Ran and Fang Mo, "Let’s get a small private room and have sothing to eat."

Si Ran was shocked. "Missis, you didn’t have your fill just now?"

Qiao Rui replied, "Yeah, eating with them, how could I have eaten my fill while being so proper?"

Si Ran was rendered silent again, probably not expecting Qiao Rui to say sothing like this.

Most girls, even if they were being proper, wouldn’t admit to it.

Fang Mo couldn’t help but give a grin as well.

Qiao Rui said, "Let’s book a private room, my treat, don’t worry about letting your president pick up the tab."

"Missis, the president wouldn’t mind that," Fang Mo said.

"Then what are you waiting for, Assistant Fang, let’s hurry up."

Soon, they got themselves a small private room.

Qiao Rui said, "Sit down!"

Si Ran hesitated for a mont, unsure.

Qiao Rui said, "Si Ran, don’t tell about manners or what’s not proper. You can say that in front of your president, but here it’s just us three; no need for such formalities."

Si Ran nodded,

and Fang Mo was also a bit taken aback.

Qiao Rui looked up at him and lifted her chin slightly, "Assistant Fang, you should just follow the majority and sit down."

Fang Mo felt touched inside and sat down,

Qiao Rui took the nu and ordered several special dishes they had in the luxury room for Si Ran and Fang Mo to taste, then added a few other items that weren’t available before.

Then she handed the nu to Si Ran and Fang Mo, "Order whatever you want; I’ve said it’s my treat, and we won’t use Pei Liyan’s money."

"That won’t be necessary, the food here is plenty!" Si Ran said.

Fang Mo added, "Yes, Missis, this is enough."

"Then that’s settled." Qiao Rui wasn’t coy; she imdiately asked the waiter to serve the dishes promptly.

When the food arrived, she barely touched her chopsticks.

Si Ran and Fang Mo then understood that when Missis had said she was hungry, it was actually because she had seen that they hadn’t eaten the whole ti, so she ca out to let them eat.

Coming out ant President Pei, Mr. Song, and Mr. Lu had the space and ti to talk business.

Fang Mo and Si Ran exchanged a glance. They didn’t speak, but years of partnership had given them the silent mutual understanding of each other’s looks.

They had great admiration for Qiao Rui’s silent thoughtfulness.
