Pei Liyan's voice was deep, "Speak."

Fang Mo said, "It seems the madam has hardly any clothes, just brought a bag over, should we buy her so?"

Pei Liyan glanced at him, "No need to hurry with the arrangents."

"Yes." Fang Mo nodded, then reminded, "The madam might confront soone directly because she doesn't have any clothes."

He actually feared that Qiao Rui would accuse Pei Liyan of being both poor and stingy.

A flicker of understanding passed through Pei Liyan's eyes as his brows raised slightly.

His eyes half-closed, a more languid deanor overtook him while a devilish curve ford at the corner of his lips. "I'm curious to see if she dares to make demands of ."

Fang Mo looked down, feeling Qiao Rui wouldn't just make demands, she'd also be quite impolite about it.

When Fang Mo left, he saw that Qiao Rui was already sitting in the downstairs dining room.

Seeing him co downstairs, Qiao Rui nodded slightly and asked, "When will your president co down to eat?"

Fang Mo was taken aback, inquiring, "Is madam hungry?"

Qiao Rui nodded, "Yes, I haven't eaten anything since this morning. I thought after getting our marriage certificate, your president would provide sothing to eat, but he didn't even take care of the al. By the way, he isn't as stingy as my grandfather, is he?"

"Cough!" Fang Mo cleared his throat, "No, our president is very generous."

"Hopefully, as you say," Qiao Rui responded.

Qiao Rui looked at the exquisite dishes laid out in front of her, picked up her chopsticks, ready to dig in.

Upon seeing this, Fang Mo kindly reminded, "Madam, I don't know when the president will co down, but perhaps madam should wait a bit. He doesn't like to eat leftovers."

"Oh, is that so?" Qiao Rui looked at Fang Mo, sincerely smiling, "Thanks for the reminder."

Although she voiced her appreciation, her actions did not cease; she picked up the vegetables and began eating.

Fang Mo had a bad feeling; he thought it might have been better not to warn Qiao Rui. By warning her, she seed to do it on purpose, leaving leftovers for Pei Liyan to eat.

Fang Mo was a bit speechless and could only say, "Madam, please wait."

Qiao Rui's eyes were clear, and she looked like an innocent child as she implored, "But I'm really too hungry."

Fang Mo tried to speak, opening his mouth, but found himself at a loss for words.

"I'll just eat a little bit; you go ahead. Later, if I don't tell him I've eaten, he won't know these are leftovers, right?"

Fang Mo paused, then suddenly looked towards the direction of the stairs and called out, "President."

Qiao Rui's heart skipped a beat as she hastily turned her head towards the stairs, and her eyes t with Pei Liyan, who stood there.

The man was dressed in light-colored casual ho wear, not in the suit he wore earlier. The light colors made Pei Liyan seem much more relaxed, less indifferent, and added a touch of languid sexiness.

The distinguished figure of Pei Liyan stood on the stairs, his profound, calm eyes narrowing slightly and locking onto the woman seated in the dining room below.

Damn it, just her luck to be overheard.

Looking at Pei Liyan, Qiao Rui sighed inwardly; the man was indeed good-looking from every angle, quite captivating.

Fang Mo hurriedly said, "President, I'm heading back."

Pei Liyan was expressionless.

With Fang Mo gone, the atmosphere turned sowhat awkward.

Qiao Rui kept silent.

Pei Liyan watched her for a mont then leisurely descended the stairs, his gaze fixed on Qiao Rui throughout.

This woman was still so unpleasant to the eye. She had changed out of her morning clothes, losing any advantage her figure might have provided.

His brow furrowed, his voice low and husky, magnetic, "Hungry?"

"You heard everything, didn't you?" Qiao Rui replied.

Pei Liyan's gaze was indifferent, and no emotion could be discerned. "Did you do it on purpose?"

Qiao Rui shook her head. "No, I was just hungry."

"So it's my fault then?" Pei Liyan quirked an attractive eyebrow.

Qiao Rui Danran: "It's okay, as long as you know you're wrong."

Pei Liyan: "..."

Suddenly, he realized the woman had so nerve.

She actually dared to speak to him like that.

Pei Liyan glanced at her and said in a deep voice, "Do you really think it's my fault?"

"I didn't say that," Qiao Rui Danran replied. "You're the one who said it."

Pei Liyan's pupils contracted, flaring with a hint of fire.

He scoffed, "Qiao Rui, am I being too kind to you?"

Qiao Rui remained Danran, "You don't have to be kind to , I have my own face; keep yours for yourself."

Pei Liyan was on the verge of exploding.

He half-closed his eyes, looking down at the woman before him.

The ordinary girl had confidence and dared to challenge him.

Pei Liyan took a seat at the dining table, watching Qiao Rui intently, and after a long while, spoke, "Taking joy in a mont of verbal sparring often leads to very tragic outcos."

Qiao Rui looked at him, then suddenly smiled.

Pei Liyan's brow twitched, "What are you laughing at?"

Qiao Rui said, "I just realized, you talk in a really sarcastic manner. Do you not want to eat?"

"That's not the point." Pei Liyan's expression turned cold.

Qiao Rui replied, "I'm very hungry; I only care about being able to eat. If I can't, I'll go out to eat."

Looking at her dressed so plainly and poorly, Pei Liyan retorted, "Do you have money to eat?"

Qiao Rui candidly shook her head, "I didn't bring any money."

Pei Liyan snorted softly, bristling with sarcasm.

Qiao Rui: "It's okay, I can beg for food. After all, I am your wife. It shouldn't be hard to beg for a al in this villa area."

"Heh!" Pei Liyan finally witnessed Qiao Rui's fierceness.

He always knew this girl was not simple.

She was a smart one.

An ugly and plain but smart person.

It seed providence was fair after all, making her so unattractive yet endowing her with wisdom.

"You think my idea is good too, right?" Qiao Rui also smiled.

Pei Liyan realized she was deliberately insulting him.

He wasn't angry anymore but simply glanced at her with half-closed eyes. "Since you're hungry, go ahead and eat then. No need for all this pointless talk."

Qiao Rui picked up her chopsticks and began to eat, paying no attention to him.

She was completely imrsed in the delicious food, as if she had forgotten there was a handso man beside her.

Pei Liyan felt uncomfortable again, feeling quite stifled as he watched. Did she think he was dead?

He hadn't even started eating, and she had already finished two plates.

He didn't even bother picking up his chopsticks.

After Qiao Rui finished the al, she looked at Pei Liyan with a hindsight expression, "Hey, why aren't you eating?"

Pei Liyan humd lightly, about to speak when Qiao Rui interrupted him.

"Oh, I see, you're not hungry."

Pei Liyan: "..."

Qiao Rui stood up, "I'm full, enjoy your al."

She intended to wipe her mouth and go upstairs, but the man stopped her, "Sit down, let's talk."

Qiao Rui asked, "Talk about what?"

"Set so ground rules," Pei Liyan stated outright.

Qiao Rui knew it wouldn't be so simple, so she urged, "Alright, hurry up and say it."
