When Ye Yuwei and the two others returned, the others hadn’t co back yet.
The eight-mber group of ng ixuan was split into three teams to take on different variety shows.
It was only then that Ye Yuwei understood why the company wanted to separate them.
"Yezi, are you hungry? I made plain noodles." Jiang ngqi knocked on Ye Yuwei’s door.
"Thank you, ngqi, I was just getting a bit hungry." Ye Yuwei smiled and walked over to go downstairs with her.
Normally, it would’ve sufficed for Jiang ngqi to simply ask via WeChat, but coming to the door personally showed her intentions of goodwill and respect.
Ye Yuwei understood her intentions; this sweet-smiling, softly-speaking girl was indeed socially intelligent.
"Yezi, I also made chili oil, my mom taught . Try so."
"Haha! ngqi, you’re so nice. No wonder everyone used to call you Rainbow Mom then."
"Please, I still prefer being a carefree Little Rainbow."
The two of them laughed and chatted as they walked into the living room, where Duan Yuxin was already eating.
"Sigh! I want to eat too, but I’m scared of gaining weight, what should I do?"
Seeing Duan Yuxin’s adorable worried look, Ye Yuwei couldn’t help but laugh.
Duan Yuxin, though young, had strong opinions and strict self-discipline.
She picked up a bowl and began drinking the soup, indeed skipping the noodles.
Ye Yuwei was the sa, only having a small bowl, despite the noodles being very delicious, she dared not eat more.
"Sister Yezi, you eat so little. I see your forr idol group mates often eating hot pot, skewers, and all kinds of stuff." Duan Yuxin looked at her curiously.
"You’ve watched my old videos?"
"I have, I’ve dug up all the sisters’ videos. Your group was the most popular."
Looking at Duan Yuxin’s half-smiling expression, Ye Yuwei instantly felt awkward.
In their forr group, they often perford borderline acts to attract attention from the audience.
Thinking that this young sister had seen those performances of hers, she felt odd and a bit embarrassed.
"Yezi’s idol group was quite impressive. Our group and Liu Niannian’s tead up before to compete against their sub-group, yet we still lost." Jiang ngqi, enjoying her al, said with a smile.
"Ah!" So you and Liu Nian already knew each other.
"Yes, our group, the Insect Girls, is actually a sister group to Aka Girl because we share the sa boss. There were rumors of us rging into Aka Girl to share the theater, but I’m not close with Liu Niannian."
Duan Yuxin was quite surprised, not expecting such deep connections between these groups.
"Actually, Qiqi and Fan Lei know each other too; they’re pretty good friends. A few people from my old group were originally trainees from Qiqi’s group," Ye Yuwei said with a smile.
Duan Yuxin thought about it and pieced together the connections: "So you all knew each other before."
"I used to know of Qiqi and Fan Lei, but it’s more of a professional acquaintance."
Ye Yuwei put down her bowl, went to the kitchen to boil water, and made everyone a pot of tea.
Just then, there was the sound of the iron gate outside opening.
Wu and ng had returned from outside.
"Wow! Who made the plain noodles? Slls delicious! I want so."
With eyes glowing, ng ixuan stared intently at Jiang ngqi.
"I want so too. I’m starving. If I don’t get noodles, I won’t sleep well tonight." Wu Zixuan pretended to faint.
"Alright, alright, I’ll cook the noodles for you." Jiang ngqi said with a face full of helplessness.
Seeing Wu and ng’s antics, Ye Yuwei realized they had no idea what their company was planning; clearly, the company didn’t trust them at all.
"Yuwei, that guy is getting roasted online now, damn well deserved," ng ixuan said seriously, looking at Yuwei.
"Exactly, that bastard should be beaten to death." Wu Zixuan was also indignant.
"Thanks, everyone. There might be more people like him in the future, so everyone should protect themselves," Yuwei suddenly thought of Wu Jingxiang, always feeling she’s being watched from sowhere unseen.
"Once I’ve finished eating, I need a shower. It’s been such a tiring day! Covered in sweat and with powder on from the magazine shoot," Wu Zixuan said and felt uncomfortable all over.
"But Yuwei is so fair, she doesn’t need much powder," ng ixuan laughed, glancing at her.
Duan Yuxin also said enviously, "You all have fair skin, only I’m tanned."
"Haha, you’re much fairer now than you used to be, just avoid the sun and eat things that reduce lanin, slowly you’ll get fairer." Wu Zixuan started sharing her whitening tips.
"Here are the noodles, I added so pig bones this ti," Jiang ngqi brought out a big bowl of noodles.
"Wow! I’m digging in."
Wu Zixuan didn’t care whose bowl she grabbed, she started eating the noodles with it since she has a body type that doesn’t gain weight easily.
ng ixuan ate more cautiously, worrying about gaining weight.
After a while, others returned one after another.
The whole living room was buzzing like a boiling pot, everyone talking non-stop.
Various casual chatter, Jiang ngqi was forced to cook noodles four tis.
What noodles she intended to eat for a week were nearly gone in one sitting.
Back at the dorm, Ye Yuwei showered and lay down.
"Yezi, what exactly happened today?" Zhang Zijing asked, quite concerned.
Ye Yuwei explained everything in detail.
"That damn Shu Cheng, he should be finished this ti, right?"
"Hard to say, it depends on what Penguin wants to do with him, he’s got a strong backing."
Ye Yuwei had no desire to talk about him anymore; just thinking about it disgusted her.
Though Yuwei didn’t want to dwell on it, so people couldn’t let it go.
While Shu Cheng was getting bashed online, so dirt on Ye Yuwei resurfaced.
This ti rumors were spread about Ye Yuwei having an abortion, being kept by a senior mber at Penguin.
This attack was quite fierce, nearly a coordinated sar campaign, yet Ye Yuwei’s fans, who’d seen it happen nurous tis before, didn’t buy it.
Moreover, the fans of all the mbers of Destiny Girl banded together to support Ye Yuwei.
This issue had already caused public outrage.
"Wu Hao, did you handle what I asked?"
"Chairman, I’ve taken care of it. I’ll make sure Shu Cheng ends up in prison."
"Good, I don’t just want him in prison, I want him to be ruined."
"...Alright, cousin, but that’s going to take so ti."
Wu Jingxiang understood Wu Hao’s concerns, as Shu Cheng was a well-known public figure.
"Don’t worry, I’ve not lost my mind."
Upon hearing Wu Jingxiang’s assurance, Wu Hao felt relieved.
The next day when Ye Yuwei woke up, she saw on Weibo that soone accused Shu Cheng of drugging her drink and then assaulting her.
Additionally, several other girls also ca forward to accuse Shu Cheng.
The first to co forward was an unknown C-list actress from within the industry.
This girl claid she had already reported to the police and posted receipts as evidence.
Ye Yuwei was very surprised by this, thinking that Penguin wouldn’t go to such lengths, especially since she hadn’t suffered any actual harm.
Right as she was contemplating this, her phone rang. It was Zhou Dan.
"Yuwei, are you on your phone?"
"I am."
"Do you know the girl who reported it?"
"I don’t know her, and I have no idea what’s going on."
Zhou Dan was silent for a mont on the other side of the call, then said, "Yuwei, no matter who asks about this matter now, don’t say a word."
"Got it, Mr. Zhou."
Zhou Dan asked nothing more and hung up the call.
