The next day
At the break of dawn, the group of girls was called up by their assistants.
They were going to shoot a comrcial and didn’t even have breakfast.
The material they fild yesterday had already been uploaded to the official website.
A twenty-minute video showcased their process from checking in to choosing rooms.
Qiu Fan, female, a university graduate, whose life revolves around consurism and being a fan.
After the reality show "Auto Idol" began, she beca obsessively infatuated with ng ixuan.
It marked the start of an almost cult-like fan obsession, into which she had poured millions to support ng ixuan’s debut. She beca the most famous leader in ng ixuan’s fan community, the "ixuan Miracle Army."
On the very day the girl group was ford, she organized hundreds of fans to bombard Lv Fangxin’s Weibo.
Fans of Lv Fangxin and ng ixuan’s fandoms seed destined to be mortal enemies, each wishing for the other’s demise.
Lv Fangxin’s fans had always prided themselves on being rational, but they would lose control facing ng ixuan’s supporters, succumbing to the terrifying toxic logic of fandom.
Qiu Fan took a sip of the Blue Mountain coffee her housemaid served her and sent a ssage to another fan: "Have you figured out where ixuan is staying?"
"We managed to locate their dormitory based on the houses shown in the footage uploaded to the official site!"
"Good, today we’ll go and film ixuan."
"Boss, isn’t that a bit wrong? They’ll surely think of us as stalker fans."
"Since when do you get to question ? I said we’re going, so we’re going."
Qiu Fan was visibly irritated by her subordinate’s audacity to question her, particularly the ntion of being a stalker.
"First, we’ll go to the villa and shoot so exterior shots. Later, you’ll use another account to leak their dormitory address."
"Got it, boss. Are we still hitting Lv Fangxin today?"
"Not today. Instead, target Wu Zixuan. She’s been shooting a magazine recently, and according to an insider, the photographer seems to favor her."
"Understood, I’ll rally the team into action right away."
PM, that evening
The girls returned by car after a full day of shooting comrcials.
"Girls, we’re having hot pot together tonight!" their assistant cheerfully announced.
"Didn’t we already have dinner over there?" Duan Yuxin looked at the assistant in surprise.
"This is for show material to send out to fans."
"Oh my god! Eating so much will make us fat." Jiang ngqi made no effort to hide her reluctance.
The rest of them weren’t thrilled either, but they had no choice but to follow the company’s orders.
When they got back to the villa, the eleven of them stepped down from the business van.
"ixuan! ixuan! Look here, look here!"
The sudden voices and flashing lights startled them.
Hearing the voice that felt familiar, ng ixuan looked closely and realized it was her biggest fan.
They all knew who their most dedicated fans were.
Realizing it was one of her own fans, ng ixuan felt a strong sense of pride.
Out of everyone here, only her fan had co all the way.
Wu Zixuan, however, felt secretly annoyed, while the others mostly felt envious.
Ye Yuwei frowned. This kind of behavior fit the definition of a "cult fan" by Galaxy’s standards. Visiting filming locations was one thing, but coming to soone’s ho was completely inappropriate.
ng ixuan, on the other hand, was visibly delighted.
She waved toward Qiu Fan with a radiant smile on her face.
The assistant didn’t know how to handle the situation, so they could only let ng ixuan stand there and let the fan snap a few photos.
To maintain the team’s harmony, Ye Yuwei slowed her pace, waiting for ng ixuan to finish and walk toward the villa before continuing herself.
Once inside, they saw a hot pot setup waiting for them at the table.
Another surprise: a caraman was there as well.
"Why does it feel like we’re back at the training base?" Lai Ruoxuan couldn’t help but comnt.
"Don’t scare ! There aren’t hidden caras here too, are there?" Jiang ngqi added jokingly.
"Are we actually eating this?" ng ixuan asked skeptically.
The assistant imdiately clarified, "Of course not. We’ll gradually remove the food."
The eager Lv Fangxin deflated like a punctured balloon.
She genuinely wanted to eat. It had been ages since she’d had hot pot—or any at.
"A little bit won’t make us fat, will it? It’s already here anyway," Fu Xiaoyu wished aloud.
The assistant thought for a mont, then said, "Alright, just a bite or two of the veggies. No at."
Resigned, the girls sat there, adopting cheerful conversational modes as part of the filming.
"Add so at! Otherwise, the scene won’t look realistic," the director suddenly called out.
"But didn’t they say we couldn’t eat at?"
"You can’t eat it, but no one said you couldn’t put it in the hot pot!"
The girls felt like they were being driven crazy by the conflicting instructions.
"Co on, everyone, dig in—the lamb’s amazing!" Yang Ni tried to ease the atmosphere enthusiastically.
She was incredibly dedicated and poured the most love into the team.
"It’s really good! I’d love so sauce to go with this."
"I’ll just use sesa oil; where I’m from, we don’t use sesa paste."
"I want to eat the squid—I haven’t had any in ages."
Having perford these scenes countless tis, the girls found it easy enough to slip into acting mode.
Once the segnt was over, staff ca to remove the dishes and replace them with empty soda bottles.
The illusion was maintained; fans would think the girls had been eating for hours. To sell the effect, they even turned the clock on the wall forward.
"Good! Cut! Next scene," the director called out.
The assistant temporarily acting as deputy director read through the script:
"Just eating hot pot is too bland. Let’s create a ’power outage incident.’ Everyone will use phones for lighting, showing unity and camaraderie."
"What even is this? How could a nice villa suddenly have a power outage?" ng ixuan couldn’t hide her frustration.
"Exactly! Won’t fans think we can’t even pay for electricity?" Ye Yuwei chid in, finding the whole idea absurd.
"Yeah! Since fans already know we’re staying here, what if they’re staking out outside? If they see other houses lit up and ours isn’t, what will they think?"
Having once been the team leader of Bright Moon Girl Group, Lai Ruoxuan voiced similar concerns.
After so discussion, the director finally decided:
"Okay, we’ll stick with the power outage. But say it’s due to a blown fuse."
"The task of checking the fuse goes to Fangxin and Yang Ni."
All eleven girls were utterly dumbfounded by the director’s "brilliant" idea.
"Why ? I don’t know a thing about electricity!" Lv Fangxin protested with wide eyes.
"Neither do I!" Yang Ni exclaid, equally flabbergasted.
"Just say you frequently help with house chores," the director instructed.
The two could only force a bitter smile and accept their "roles." The lights were turned off, and everyone used phone flashlights as they "bonded" over hot pot.
"Great! Now let’s have everyone discuss their recent work. And Zi ng, maybe you could teach the group so phrases from your language..."
This dragged on for over two hours before the shoot finally wrapped up.
It had only ended because the production team’s higher-ups had called to insist the filming couldn’t run past two hours.
In recent days, Wu Zixuan, Li Zing, and Duan Yuxin had been showing physical problems.
Even Zhou Dan had begun reevaluating the line between pushing and exhausting the girls.
After this round of intense shooting, the girls could finally go and rest.
They were utterly drained, both physically and ntally.
Returning ho late, Li Ke turned on his computer.
"Wow! They found out where the girls are staying already?"
Li Ke was shocked to see a post on Weibo.
The post didn’t explicitly reveal Lv Fangxin and the others’ address but suggested that soone had pinpointed the location through the official video footage and rental websites.
Li Ke already knew that it was just a matter of ti before their address got exposed completely.
Those stalker fans would inevitably track them down by following their cars.
"Damn it! Can’t they just leave them alone?"
Li Ke felt a surge of disgust for this kind of behavior. He couldn’t tolerate it anymore.
At that mont, another prominent fan ssaged him in their group chat.
"Other fandoms’ support teams are already planning to take fan project photos outside the villa. Shouldn’t we do the sa?"
"No way. Camping out at their doorstep is unacceptable. If we take pictures, it’ll only be at their workplace."
Li Ke held back from speaking out further in the group, suppressing his frustration in silence.
