The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm golden light across the vast grounds of the isolated mansion. It was a beautiful place, surrounded by lush gardens and tall trees that offered both privacy and serenity. The mansion itself, though grand, had a certain understated elegance, with ivy creeping up its stone walls and large windows that overlooked the carefully tended grounds.

Inside, the atmosphere was calm and peaceful, a stark contrast to the turmoil that seed to be brewing elsewhere in the family. In a sunlit sitting room, Leclair Levidis sat by the window, gazing out at the garden with a thoughtful expression. His wheelchair, though an ever-present part of his life, did little to diminish his presence. He was a man of quiet strength, his gentle deanor masking a sharp mind and an even sharper intuition.

Leclair was four years older than his younger brother, Ethan, who had always been the more fiery and ambitious of the two. Where Ethan was bold and fierce, Leclair was calm and composed. Despite their differences, the brothers had always been close, each understanding the other in a way that few could.

Leclair's husband, Augustin Hale, entered the room carrying a tray with two cups of tea. Augustin was a man of quiet grace, with a warm smile that seed to light up the room. His soft brown hair fell in gentle waves, and his blue eyes sparkled with kindness. He had a calm, nurturing presence that balanced Leclair's thoughtful nature perfectly.

As Augustin set the tray down on the small table beside Leclair, he noticed the distant look in his husband's eyes. He took a seat across from him, pouring a cup of tea and handing it to Leclair.

"Lost in thought again, my love?" Augustin asked, his voice soft and filled with affection.

Leclair blinked and turned his attention to Augustin, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I was just thinking about Ethan," he replied, taking the cup of tea from Augustin. "And his... situation."

Augustin nodded, understanding imdiately. "It's been difficult, hasn't it? I can't imagine how hard it must be for Adrian, either."

Leclair sighed, the concern evident in his eyes. "Adrian... Yes, I've been thinking about him too. He's so young, and to be thrust into this situation... It's not fair."

"I've heard he's been staying by Ethan's side every day," Augustin said, his tone thoughtful. "He seems devoted, despite everything. But it can't be easy, especially with how your mother is treating him."

A shadow passed over Leclair's face at the ntion of their mother, Lady Sachel. "Mother has never been kind to those she sees as a threat to her plans. I'm afraid she might be up to sothing, sothing that could harm Ethan—or Adrian."

Augustin frowned, his gentle features tightening with worry. "What do you think she's planning?"

Leclair shook his head slowly, his eyes distant once more. "I don't know. But I've heard rumors... She's been eting with certain people, making arrangents. And with our step-brother, Natan, causing trouble in casinos and gambling away the family's money, I can't help but feel that sothing is going to go terribly wrong."

Augustin reached out, taking Leclair's hand in his own. "We'll do what we can to protect them, Levidis. We can't let anything happen to Ethan, or Adrian."

Leclair squeezed Augustin's hand, drawing comfort from his touch. "You're right, of course. We must be vigilant. I've been thinking... Perhaps it's ti we et Adrian. Officially, I an."

Augustin's expression brightened at the suggestion. "I think that's a wonderful idea. It might give him so reassurance, knowing that he has allies in the family. Besides, I'm curious to et the young man who married our wild horse."

Leclair smiled, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Yes, I've heard from Mathew that Adrian is quite the character. Quiet, reserved, but with a strength that reminds of Ethan. They're both so different, yet so alike."

Augustin nodded, his gaze thoughtful. "We should invite him to dinner this weekend. It'll be good for him to get away from the hospital for a while, and it might give us a chance to get to know him better."

Leclair's smile widened, and he looked at Augustin with deep affection. "You always know just what to do, my love. Yes, let's invite him. And when Ethan wakes up, we'll have another dinner—a proper family gathering."

Augustin's eyes softened, and he leaned over and Leclair easily kissed his forehead. "I'll arrange everything. I'm sure Adrian will appreciate the invitation."

Leclair sighed contentedly, closing his eyes for a mont as he savored the warmth of Augustin's presence. "Thank you, Augustin."

Augustin chuckled softly, brushing a stray lock of hair away from Leclair's face.

"You just need to be safe and stay healthy for , Don't thank ."

Leclair opened his eyes, his gaze locking with Augustin's. "Yes, I will."

After a while, Augustin spoke again, his voice filled with determination. "We should also keep an eye on Natan. He's been making a ss of things, and if he's not careful, he could cause serious damage to the family's reputation."

Leclair nodded, his expression growing more serious. "I've already instructed Mathew to look into Natan's activities. We can't afford to have him tarnish the Levidis na any further. If he continues down this path, we may have to take more drastic asures."

Augustin sighed, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "It's a sha, really. Natan had so much potential, but he's allowed his vices to consu him. I just hope it's not too late to help him."

Leclair's expression softened, and he reached out to place a comforting hand on Augustin's arm. "We'll do what we can, Augustin. Don't burden yourself."

The two of them sat in comfortable silence for a while, sipping their tea and enjoying the peaceful afternoon.
