The eastern sky paled as dawn broke, illuminating the heavens. A new day had begun. Every day, people greet a new version of themselves, ready to face life with a fresh perspective.

Sumr Lancaster had fallen into a coma from excessive blood loss. The nurse had advised her against donating blood, but she had insisted. Her determined gaze moved the nurse, who understood at once. ’She must love him very much.’

Color had returned to Kenneth Yates’s face. The mont dawn’s first light stread through the window, he regained consciousness. He struggled to pry open his heavy eyelids. A white ceiling. The strong scent of disinfectant. ’We’re saved!’

He turned his head and saw Sumr Lancaster lying in the adjacent bed. Her face was ghastly pale, but since she had no external injuries, she had to be alright.

Kenneth Yates glanced at his own arm and smiled. They had been holding hands the entire ti; neither had let go. He struggled to sit up, his gaze fixed on Sumr Lancaster’s sleeping face.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open. A nurse entered with a new IV bag to replace the one he had.

"Mr. Yates, you’re awake! Don’t worry, Miss Lancaster is in no serious danger. She just lost too much blood. She’ll be fine after resting for a few days!" the nurse said, hanging a new saline bag on the IV stand beside him.

"She wasn’t injured. Why would she lose so much blood?" Kenneth Yates frowned, displeased.

"The hospital’s blood bank is critically low on RH-negative blood, which is your blood type. Miss Lancaster is the one who donated blood for your transfusion. You two are truly an enviable couple!" With that, the nurse left the room, leaving Kenneth Yates to stare at Sumr Lancaster with a complex mix of emotions. ’Yes, he knew that both he and Sumr had the sa rare blood type. But Sumr also knew that Ethan did too. Why would she ignore her own health and insist on giving him so much of her blood?’

Kenneth Yates pulled the IV needle from his arm, got out of bed, and walked over to Sumr Lancaster’s side. He sat on the edge of her bed and took her hand. It was a little cold. He lifted the covers, slid in beside her, and held her close.

All he wanted was to be by her side, to feel her breathing next to him. With his eyes closed, he unknowingly drifted back to sleep...

lody Donovan glanced at the phone beside her pillow. It was already seven-thirty. ’Ti to get up and go to the hospital to see Sumr,’ she thought. With her eyes still half-closed, she climbed out of bed and shuffled toward the bathroom. Standing before the mirror, she slowly opened her eyes.

"AHHH!!!" It all ca rushing back to her. Her bathroom door at ho was blue. Her bedsheets were pink. But the bed she had just woken up in had white sheets, and this bathroom door was also white. Moreover, the decor here was completely different from her own ho.

’Where am I?’ That was her first question. ’And why does this place feel just a little bit familiar?’ That was her second.

Forgetting to wash her face or brush her teeth, she rushed back into the bedroom. She saw that there was definitely soone else in the bed, but their face was hidden by the blanket, making them impossible to identify. lody Donovan had a bad feeling. ’But I know for a fact I didn’t drink last night,’ she thought. ’What is going on?’

lody Donovan tiptoed to the person’s side and cautiously pulled back the blanket.

"Ugh! Who’s there? Leave alone!" Feeling the sting of bright light, Dominic Thorne slung a long arm out, scooped the woman into his embrace, and buried his head against her chest, trying to block out the sun.

lody Donovan was in pajamas, and in that mont, she truly felt like murdering that bastard, Dominic Thorne. ’Bringing to his house is one thing, but what’s the deal with these won’s pajamas I’m wearing? And now he’s groping ? This is the last straw!’

lody Donovan struggled to break free from his grasp and sat up, then violently yanked the blanket off him and onto the floor.

But... instead of feeling vindicated, lody Donovan was even more mortified...

He was awake now, his eyes wide open, but—! He was wearing nothing but a single pair of underwear!!
