"This isn’t about cutting you a break. You’ve already missed your chance." Dominic Thorne toyed with the ring on his finger. He appeared nonchalant, but he had been observing his surroundings and Carls’s n the entire ti.
"Young Master Thorne, letting things get this hostile is no good for either of us," Carls said, his expression grave. There was a hint of a plea in his eyes.
Dominic Thorne pulled a lighter from his breast pocket, picked up the docunts on the table, and set them alight. He stared provocatively at Carls through the golden flas. "This changes nothing for . We don’t do business with untrustworthy people in the arms trade." With that, he viciously slamd the half-burned contract onto the ground.
CLICK.
Carls and Dominic Thorne simultaneously drew their guns, aiming them at each other’s foreheads.
"Hmph. Carls, I knew you’d double-cross ."
"Is that so? I bet you didn’t guess I have backup," Carls said with a confident smirk.
’What?’ He had just carefully scanned the area and hadn’t noticed anyone else.
"Drop your guns!" A group of n in black rushed in, quickly surrounding them and seizing Sean Murphy.
"Everyone, drop your guns! Otherwise, I can’t guarantee this thing won’t go off." The leader of the n in black had Sean Murphy in a chokehold with one arm, a gun pressed to his temple with the other.
’I could fight back,’ Sean Murphy thought. ’With my skills, taking out the one holding would be easy enough. But there are too many of them. It’s better to let them take to keep Dominic Thorne and Ronan Jenkins safe.’
Ronan Jenkins’s bloodshot eyes glared at the man in black. ’I wish it were they were holding hostage. Sean hasn’t been through much of this... I’m afraid he won’t be able to handle it.’
They had no choice but to lower their guns and back away warily. "Carls, what do you really want?!" Dominic Thorne scread, his voice hoarse.
"Tomorrow. Right here. Have Kenneth Yates co in exchange for him."
Dominic Thorne and Ronan Jenkins froze. ’Their target is the boss?’ they thought. ’We have to get back and discuss this with him before making a decision.’
"If I see a single scratch on him tomorrow, I’ll send every last one of you to hell!" Ronan Jenkins roared at them. Sean Murphy was stunned. The Ronan Jenkins he knew always wore the sa expression, no matter the situation. He didn’t smile when happy or show sorrow when sad. But this version of him was soone Sean had never seen before. A small smile touched Sean’s lips. ’I guess I’m the only one who can make him break his principles. It’s been this way since we were kids. After all these years, he hasn’t changed a bit...’
They were forced to back away until they were outside, where they jumped in their car and drove off. On their own, they were no match for Carls and his n. They had to retreat and plan their next move. ’Carls must be cooperating with soone else,’ they thought. ’Those n in black were clearly professionally trained—even Dominic Thorne didn’t notice them. There’s no way Carls would have a force that elite.’
With furrowed brows, they sped away.
After Dominic Thorne and Ronan Jenkins left, Carls went back inside the warehouse. A door on the upper level opened, and a mysterious masked figure erged.
"Young Master Lynch, I’ve done as you asked. But for your sake, I’ve just lost Kenneth Yates—my cash cow. How are you going to repay ?"
Indeed, the mysterious man upstairs was Noel Lynch. He removed his mask and descended the stairs with elegant strides. "You’ll get what you deserve." His expression was sinister, yet his eyes held a seductive charm.
BANG! A gunshot cracked through the air. Blood stread from a hole in Carls’s head. He struggled to turn, his eyes widening in disbelief. The one who shot him was his own trusted subordinate, Ricky Russo!
