After leaving, Kenneth Yates drove to the river. He suddenly had no desire to return to the ho he shared with Sumr Lancaster. He was afraid that going back would only remind him of her, deepening his sorrow.

The river’s surface shimred under the night sky, casting his complete reflection, though it appeared sowhat distorted.

The benches were nearly all filled with young couples, most of them university students.

Kenneth Yates found an empty bench and sat down, watching quietly.

A sudden wave of dizziness washed over him. He instinctively tried to stand and walk around, but his body refused, and he fell back onto the bench. ’What’s going on? Was the wine drugged? I was so careful at first, but I let my guard down later on.’

’That’s it! It must have been then. The waiter was acting shifty, and he refused to take our tip!’

"Damn it!" Kenneth Yates slamd his fist into the wooden bench. ’If I find out who the mastermind is, I’ll make them pay.’

His consciousness began to fade. Kenneth Yates was unresponsive by the ti several people ca and took him away.

Inside a room at the Valoria Hotel, with its fiery red decor and matching bedsheets, a woman in crimson lipstick and sky-high stilettos advanced step by step toward the nearly unconscious man.

The man seed to be overheating. Even in his stupor, he undid the top few buttons of his shirt, revealing a chiseled chest and an alluring collarbone. The woman’s red lips parted in satisfaction, her eyes filled with a soft tenderness. ’In the end, didn’t he wind up here after all? Right in my hands.’

The woman kicked off her high heels and undid the man’s shirt, one button at a ti. She swallowed hard with each button that ca loose. She wanted him so desperately that she had resorted to this despicable plan. It wouldn’t matter even if he hated her for it.

She nestled against the man’s chest, closing her eyes in bliss. She then took out a cara and snapped nurous photos before hastily putting it away. But as she did, the man suddenly grabbed her right wrist.

"Sumr! Don’t go!" Kenneth’s eyes slowly opened. He stared at the woman before him, his gaze filled with sorrow. The heat flooding his body had all but destroyed his sanity.

The woman was clearly stunned. It was a long mont before she slowly turned back to et Kenneth’s gaze.

The mont he saw her face, Kenneth violently shook off her hand and clutched his forehead in self-reproach. ’How could I have mistaken her for Sumr? It’s unforgivable.’

"Kenneth..." the woman begged, looking utterly pitiful.

"Reina West. So it was you! Hmph. I should have known." Kenneth flew into a rage. "I can’t believe you’d resort to this. Drugging ? You’re gambling with the entire West Group on this." He swore that he would not let Reina West or the West Group off the hook again.

The woman averted her gaze, unable to look him in the eye as tears instantly began to fall.

"Kenneth, no... it’s not like that! Soone called and told you were here. I... I didn’t know you were..."

SLAP!

The slap was sharp and unhesitating, delivered with all his might. A bright red handprint instantly blossod on Reina West’s cheek.

"Reina West, I never claid I don’t hit won. I, Kenneth Yates, am not that noble. Consider it a miracle you’re still standing here in one piece." Kenneth was seething with rage. At that mont, he wanted nothing more than to kill Reina West.

Reina West cupped her stinging cheek, tears welling in her eyes. "Kenneth, it doesn’t matter that you hit ... but... aren’t you drugged? I can help you. Don’t worry, I won’t tell a soul. I just want to help you..."
