At night, Aeston was a sea of glittering lights. In the heart of the city, one particularly prominent bar was especially captivating.

At nine o’clock sharp, a silver, limited-edition Lamborghini screeched to a halt at the entrance. Pedestrians turned to look, but they were so intimidated by the man who stepped out that they didn’t dare a second glance. He was as arrogant as ever!

Clutching the silver car keys, he straightened his expensive, limited-edition suit. Without pausing, he walked straight into Vexx. A man in a blue suit, sitting in a corner, had already had a lot to drink. His table was so cluttered with glasses there was barely any room left.

The man frowned and walked over, grabbing his friend’s hand.

"Dominic, weren’t you supposed to be drinking with ? Why’d you start on your own and drink so much? Is sothing bothering you? Is there really anything you can’t handle?" Kenneth Yates took the glass from his hand and set it down. He called a server over to clear the table, then ordered a few bottles of red wine and whiskey.

Dominic Thorne’s face was slightly flushed, his gaze unfocused. He even looked a little sad.

"Boss, I don’t get it!" Dominic Thorne picked up the freshly delivered red wine, poured it into a glass, and chugged it down without a hint of enjoynt.

"Hm? A woman?" This was the first ti Kenneth Yates had ever seen Dominic Thorne like this. ’Normally, he couldn’t care less about anything as long as he was happy. But I can tell that ever since he t lody Donovan, he’s like a different person—so prone to getting moody and sentintal. This isn’t a good sign!’

"Yeah. I went to her place today after leaving the Yates Group, but she got angry and threw out. She even said she didn’t want to see anymore!" Dominic Thorne propped himself up and lifted his wine glass, staring at the scene before him through the red liquid. ’The faces here are all wearing seductive smiles, but none are as sweet and lovely as hers, and certainly not as pure and innocent. The people who co here looking for a good ti must all be powerful figures in their own right.’

Kenneth Yates just smiled without answering. ’He’s just lost in the thick of it right now,’ he thought. ’The ti isn’t right, so no amount of advice will help him. This is sothing he needs to figure out on his own. When the ti cos, he’ll understand naturally.’

A wave of lancholy suddenly washed over him. Kenneth Yates set down his glass and surveyed the bustling chaos around him. ’It’s only been a few days. The last ti, I promised Sumr Lancaster I’d only co back to a place like this with her. But now, who knows where she is or what kind of pain she’s enduring. The scene hasn’t changed—it’s still a world of debauchery and neon lights. The stage is still filled with scantily clad won trying their best to seduce the wealthy playboys below with alluring gazes. But to , they’re just an eyesore. I even feel a little like running away from this place.’

RING RING RING...

Dominic Thorne’s phone rang. Annoyed, he pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and answered the call.

"Mom, what is it now? It’s so late."

"Your father and I are back in the country. Get to the airport and pick us up, now!"

Dominic Thorne ran a hand through his hair in frustration and sighed. ’Are these two even my real parents? All they ever do is give endless orders. I’ve done everything I possibly can for them, but I’m just their free manual labor. They never once consider my feelings.’

Dominic Thorne hung up the phone and stood up, his body still a little unsteady.

"Boss, that old couple is back. I’ve gotta go pick them up!"

"Are you okay to drive? Why don’t I go instead? You look pretty drunk."
