Therefore, rather than entrusting Sumr Lancaster to strangers who were rely doing a job, it was better to leave her with Caleb Bell.
Caleb Bell watched coldly from the side, but his heart softened when he considered Sumr Lancaster’s condition. Sumr sat there, so lifeless it was heartbreaking to see.
"Alright, but I have a condition." Caleb Bell was perfectly composed as he rapped his knuckles on the table.
"What condition?"
"She needs to rest quietly during her treatnt. I hope you won’t co and disturb Sumr." Caleb Bell stared hard into Kenneth Yates’s eyes without blinking.
"Fine!" Kenneth Yates agreed through gritted teeth. Caleb was clearly taking advantage of the situation. He was leveraging his position to exploit Kenneth’s weakness and was now pressing his advantage. But given the circumstances, Kenneth had no choice but to submit.
"Well then, President Yates, please see yourself out!" Caleb Bell sat back down, leaned against the back of his chair, and gave a victorious smile, gesturing dismissively at Kenneth Yates.
Not to be outdone, Kenneth Yates stood up and straightened his suit, his arrogant gaze not yielding an inch.
"Ah, right. There are a lot of reporters downstairs. I never thought security at the esteed Bell Group would be so abysmal. I don’t an anything by it, of course, but I don’t want my wife to be harassed." Kenneth Yates elegantly opened the door, glanced back at Sumr Lancaster, and walked out of the office.
Annoyed, Caleb Bell picked up the intercom and chewed out the security departnt. ’How could I let that man, Kenneth Yates, look down on us?’ The lobby was quiet again in no ti.
Caleb Bell took off his suit jacket and draped it over Sumr Lancaster’s thin shoulders, then reached out and embraced her.
"How could he do this to you in just a few months? I told you a long ti ago that he can’t give you what you want. What are you even holding on for? If you had another chance to choose, what would you do, Sumr Lancaster!"
Caleb Bell reached out and touched Sumr Lancaster’s cold cheek, his eyes full of tenderness, yet mixed with a certain hatred. He couldn’t imagine what Sumr had been through during this ti. He couldn’t even begin to fathom what state of mind had driven her to willingly beco like this for that man.
The fist clenched at his side was a testant to his anger and indignation. ’Next ti, I won’t let go so easily.’
When Kenneth Yates returned to his company, he saw a commotion up ahead. He hurried over and discovered that Lianne Vance had co to the office. But this ti, there was also a rare visitor: Ethan Yates!
Kenneth Yates pushed open the door and walked in. "Mom, Ethan, is sothing wrong?" His face was as cold as ever, betraying no hint of nervousness.
Lianne Vance kept her head down and didn’t speak when she saw Kenneth Yates enter. Kenneth, on the other hand, stood before the floor-to-ceiling window. His tall, slender figure was quite captivating, but today, he seed sowhat dejected.
Hearing Kenneth Yates’s voice, Ethan Yates slowly turned his head, his eyes filled with distance and disappointnt.
The mont their eyes t, Kenneth Yates looked away. He walked straight to his chair and opened a file on the desk. He picked up the gold pen beside it, but as he uncapped it, he accidentally dropped it on the floor. Just as Kenneth bent to retrieve it, Ethan beat him to it. He picked up the pen, capped it, and placed it aside, leaving Kenneth’s hand hanging in mid-air for a long mont.
"Brother, where’s Sumr?" Ethan’s icy words seed to pierce soone’s heart, and the temperature in the room instantly plumted.
