"Cocktails," Kenneth said smoothly, naming the drink. The bartender smiled and served them two glasses.

"What was that, Kenneth?" Sumr Lancaster asked, looking curious.

"Cocktails. Go easy on it. I have no desire to carry you ho while you’re cursing out, like last ti." Kenneth picked up his glass and took a sip. An instantaneous, spicy kick hit the back of his throat, but for him, a sensation like that was hardly anything at all.

Sumr Lancaster smiled awkwardly, raising her glass to hide her face. "You still rember that? I’d completely forgotten."

"How could I forget? That was the first ti in my life soone was right there, cursing my na, and I wasn’t allowed to hit them. You think I could ever forget that?" Kenneth leaned close to Sumr’s face and teasingly lifted her chin.

"I’m sorry. I won’t curse at you anymore." Sumr’s thoughts were a ss as she looked at him, so close to her. ’If I had truly angered him back then, I doubt I’d be sitting here so safely in front of him today.’

Kenneth smiled in satisfaction, leaned in, and kissed her lips. "I won’t be giving you the chance to again."

"Hm?" Sumr’s eyes widened in surprise, but his lips descended once more, cutting off her words.

The long, gentle kiss eroded Sumr’s will. The two of them forgot everything, lost in each other’s gaze. The sweetness on her lips made it impossible for the man to pull away; he held the beauty in his arms tightly, claiming her with domineering possession.

He only released the beauty in his arms when she was so thoroughly kissed she was left breathless. He admired his handiwork, watching Sumr gasp for air.

Sumr was a little indignant. It had been a kiss between the two of them, so why did it now feel like he was just enjoying the show at her expense?

"Kenneth Yates, do you co to places like this often?" She changed the topic, completely dispelling the prior awkwardness. No one should underestimate Sumr Lancaster; she would make anyone who did see her in a new light.

"I used to, all the ti. Why?" Kenneth retracted the hand she had pushed away and slipped it into his pocket.

Sumr didn’t say anything. Instead, she turned to survey the crowd—the sexy bombshells in their cleavage-baring outfits and the sultry pole dancers on the stage. ’Was all of this what used to attract Kenneth?’

Sumr spun around and looked at Kenneth Yates with a serious expression. "Stay away from places like this in the future!" she declared, grabbing her glass, downing a large mouthful, and then pointing at him.

Kenneth caught her outstretched finger and brought it to his lips. "Let’s make a deal. From now on, whenever I co to a bar, I’ll bring you with , alright?" His gaze was steady, not straying for even a mont.

Sumr shyly snatched her hand back. She’d wanted to knock him down a peg, but he had completely flustered her instead.

"We can talk, but hands off," Sumr muttered in protest. But Kenneth seed to hear her, for he imdiately wrapped an arm around her waist and scooped her into his arms. "My wife, would you rather I was ’hands on’ with soone else?"

In a state of shock, Sumr was carried directly out of the bar and into a car by Kenneth.

"Hey, where did you conjure this car from?" Sumr asked, staring curiously at the white Lamborghini in front of them. Although she didn’t know anything about cars, looking at this one felt like watching wads and wads of cash being thrown around.

"Do you think there’s anything I can’t accomplish?" Kenneth smirked, then started the engine. In an instant, the white sports car disappeared into the night.

Sumr stared speechlessly out the window. ’How did he get it? With money, of course. Even in a foreign country, Kenneth Yates could still be so effortlessly debonair.’
